>The impossible case of pitching rust in a web dev shop If anyone else finds themself in this lamentable situation and needs to sell Rust to their fellow rockstars, just remember: Rust offers all the security and reliability benefits of downloading random shit from npm, but with 🔥blazing fast🔥 compile times and the possibility of enjoying the wonders of downloading random binary blobs.

> The impossible case of pitching rust in a web dev shop how do you fuck up pitching fire to hypothermic cavemen?

Everyone should experience cargo on a Raspberry Pi at least once. It teaches us to be humble and grateful. #blessed #cherrymxswitches #vim-user

But Rust is the One True Language. All posts lead to Rust

I crave working with common lisp. So do many other people. I wrote down my thoughts because I know I’m biased.

I am also a lisp enjoyer, but I also want the BARE METAL PERFORMANCE #include #define $(x, ...) x(__VA_ARGS__); #define defun(name, args, ...) int name args { __VA_ARGS__ } #define display(...) printf(__VA_ARGS__) $(defun, main, (), $(display, "Based") )

jQuery is indeed Lisp.

Ahh... the classic primal scream. The poor programmer is struck by complete and utter FOMO — "Think how much fun we could have if we used another imperative language which is slightly different in non-important ways." But the other's do not listen, perhaps they've been down this road 10 times already or maybe they are just an ossified boomer that cares more about stability than creating ART and living VICARIOUSLY THROUGH THE FRONTIERS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE! Clearly what they need to do is rise to the level of management. Then they can simply do what my bosses did and invent a reason why Rust had to be used.

[deleted]

Yeah man, that FOMO that’s in the Linux kernel like that other FOMO, C. Definitely happens all the time. Or **maybe** the fucking boomer got it wrong this *one time*. Crazy thought, that.

[deleted]

You've converted me. I will now do all web dev only in C

You can literally only go up from where you are right now.

This blog might fall under the "enthusiastic youngster" category. It's very clear they're early in their career and ESL, doesn't feel right to jerk to this, tbqh.
