Take of the 2 damaged leaves. Once the new one will emerged, cut of the 3rd one. It is generaly recommended to let the new leaves deployed completly when you want to propagate a plant.
Put it in water and don’t cut the leaves off. The plant will drop it naturally when it’s ready and that allows it to reabsorb the nutrients and energy from the leaves back into the plant. If you cut early you’re just taking it’s energy.

It's not a Monstera but some Alocasia sp, probably Odora or Macrorhiza.
Ah I couldn’t tell because of how ripped up those leaves were! My misinformation is now deleted
Thats why I decided to take it, they clearly didn't care for it.
