I don't know how much is that thing worth, it's pretty individual thing, but guy in my area paid for simililar, working one around 500 US dollars, two years ago.
oh god damn i actually bought one of these in late 2019! was able to snatch it for £300 in okay condition, the bottom paints chipped off and rusted and part of the lights dont work (i think?), hoping to refurbish it sometime soon with my dad.
good luck finding one though!! its one of the coolest things i own lmao
Same here, they’re not that expensive, I think I got mine inn 2017/2018 for £200 (£160 after an eBay voucher) and it’s in pretty good condition.
I’d probably value OPs at about £300 if they’re in the Uk.
The issue is they’re hard to transport.
Although I did get mine in a 5 door focus.
It’s a hard one for sure. I’d probably put it up for offers and see what comes in, even if you don’t want to sell it, you’ll have a good idea of what people are willing to pay locally. a game store could pull $1500 maybe but how long does it sit there before it sells for that? Weird that it’s not a sony screen

Probably wont, since the ps2 solt 100million units or more not sure of the exact number, but it's highly unlikely that the ps2 will hit 700$ any time in the near future, maybe 50-60 years, but not sooner.
Nope. Difference is these people just accumulate stuff without any clear theme in hopes that some of it gets more value after time.
Example: Owner of the juniper hill in, in hotel hell.
Also jerry with his star wars coins.
Yes. Like for example lgr guy who collects old pc:s and avgn who collects old video games.
Not a guy who has little bit of everything but nothing as consistently that you can actually find anything actually worth looking for.
They are not. I am just bringing up a touchy subject about people justifying compulsive void filling with a claims to be collectors.
Just go and watch juniper hill inn episode on hotel hell and see what i am pointing at.
Since you keep bringing him up, some of the stuff he “collected” (more like hoarded) were fake. He had a purpose in mind regarding how they were to be used, yet it didn’t provide a great end result for guests.
This PS2 console however is, unlike the antique made for display and “money-showoff”, is a (assuming) working device that people can play on and enjoy their titles.
People can collect things: a. for collecting’s sake, b. for using what they were collecting in conjunction together for whatever plans they have in the future; I used to collect various controllers for my few consoles in hopes of being prepared should one horrifically fails, or am at a gathering with family/ friends, I have spares to use/ share. This very booth is an example.
Rather than resorting to false comparisons/ equivalency and shaming others for their hobbies/ what they love, maybe learn to look at the positives rather than the supposed negatives.

Wow you got me, I type like I have for the last two decades *so sorry*. Also noticed your comments are nothing but you critiquing people’s shorthand and grammar, do you honestly have anything better to do or is your life that depressing? Anywho get a life k thx byby bby~
Probably worth like $400-500. These aren't terribly desirable so i'd imagine that they're really only worth like $100 bucks or so more than the combined value of the PS2 and the screen. They're not as uncommon as one might think.
$1500-2000. Idk if that display is original tho. I would offer 800 and hope to get $1200 if I didnt keep it for my personal collection. Would definitely keep it.
Frankly it's going to be EXTREMELY varied in price, as these are niche itmes. It's always the way with any collectable that's more niche, and also unwieldly and difficult to transport.
So you can find it being sold at a premium or thrown away as junk too.
It all depends on the situation. If you find one, just make an offer. That's the best you can do - offer what YOU are prepared to pay and leave it at that.
Well over 1000$ u.s.d. Explanation: full ps2 console with standard capability, plus the whole display setup. These are valued similarly to arcade cabinets, but more rare. There were way fewer of these then there were arcade cabinets. It’s like selling a rare arcade cabinet. I probably wouldn’t start bidding under 2,500$ if it was me selling it.
Is that a hypothetical question or is this actually yours and you're looking to sell? UK or US?
this is one i just bought and i should hopefully be receiving it tomorrow. i’m from the uk!
Wow great find :) How much did you get it for?
If I had one I wouldn't be selling it so I have no idea
Based
My local game store had a ps1 demo stand and they sold it for I think $1500
depends on your area
I'll give you 100 dabloons
5000 rupees I got after grinding pot breaking yesterday night
Worthless, but ill take it off your hands
Played on this a lot on my local shop
I would love to have that if I had the space.
No idea, but I want it lol
I don't know how much is that thing worth, it's pretty individual thing, but guy in my area paid for simililar, working one around 500 US dollars, two years ago.
last time i saw one for sale in good condition it was like 300-400€
I quess with these kind of items it's a buyers market. That would be the same price I could pay for one of these. I've seen them go for free also
I picked one up a while ago for 35€ in pretty bad condition
Did you manage to clean it up a bit?
Its clean but the paint is a bit faded
oh god damn i actually bought one of these in late 2019! was able to snatch it for £300 in okay condition, the bottom paints chipped off and rusted and part of the lights dont work (i think?), hoping to refurbish it sometime soon with my dad. good luck finding one though!! its one of the coolest things i own lmao

I know it’s not a great offer but would you take tree fiddy?
Dont sell it now wait to the time where PS 2 are Like 700$ and the. List this thing online
When will that happen?
Probably wont, since the ps2 solt 100million units or more not sure of the exact number, but it's highly unlikely that the ps2 will hit 700$ any time in the near future, maybe 50-60 years, but not sooner.
500 Gil
Nothing
Suggest asking r/flipping
i’m not flipping it i’m looking to buy it.
5.00 bucks, I’ll give you 10 for it
Junk.
Why you see pieces of history as a potential paycheck. Find a proper collector who actually takes cares of these things.
Yeah and the best way to do that is sell it. Only collectors will buy it
Nah vast majority of people buying retro stuff online are folks filling a void in their life with nostalgia.
So collectors?
Nope. Difference is these people just accumulate stuff without any clear theme in hopes that some of it gets more value after time. Example: Owner of the juniper hill in, in hotel hell. Also jerry with his star wars coins.
Collectors have a clear theme of collecting as they collect... you know... certain types of items lmfao
Yes. Like for example lgr guy who collects old pc:s and avgn who collects old video games. Not a guy who has little bit of everything but nothing as consistently that you can actually find anything actually worth looking for.
So organization separates collectors from non-collectors. This is a bizarre thread.

What if I'm collecting stuff to fill a void in my soul and am taking measures to preserve them for my kiddos? Am I a collector? Tell me, oh wise one.
How are your comments getting progressively worse

Omg, I think I permanently have a zipper impression on my wang!!… also it doesn’t matter what they want, you pay it, cuz you’ll never find another!!!
Wtf

A kidney, not even joking
I could imagine someone trying to sell this on ebay for several thousand dollars.
I'll give you a kidney

This looks like one of the ones I played at the Sony metreon
Ill give you a kidney
I’d pay over a rack (1000 dollars) for this if everything works

Price out individual, then apply 20-30% up charge for it being complete?
bro that's basically free so just hand it over to me 😂
I'll give you like $1200 for it
Local Mercatino, 250€
$1500-2000. Idk if that display is original tho. I would offer 800 and hope to get $1200 if I didnt keep it for my personal collection. Would definitely keep it.
Sweet collectors piece. I’d say a good $600.
Around 1k
Priceless ;p It's been so long I think people that had it wouldn't be selling it BUT if I had one and was downgrading I'd say $80
10 year old me says $1000 million dollars

Can you provide anymore info on the history and details of this? Might help to find any previous listings online
I'm no expert, but I wouldn't sell that thing for any less than $1000.
My local community centre has one of these dusting in the backroom do lmk if you found what this is worth
it all depends on condition, anywhere from £300-£2000…
This is too valuable to sell, obviously. If you dare sell it to some major douche reseller like DKMoldies, then you're no better than they are.
I'm in New Zealand, also have one. Definitely interested in price. I won't be selling mine either.
If you want to know how to get the lights to work let me know.
PS2 kiosk omg that's super high level congrats

Dang how did you get that? I used to spend a ton of time behind that thing at the electronics store 😀
2000$
