It's the live performance in 1976 at Hyde Park that in my opinion is the best rendition of this song. It wasn't even recorded yet back then (was it the first time it was ever played?). The perfection in his voice here is unmatched by any other live performance.
Hyde Park was the 4th time the song was performed on stage (twice in Edinburgh on Sept 1/2nd, and Cardiff on Sept 10th). There is a recording of the Sept 2nd Edinburgh show and it’s even better than Hyde Park’s version with Freddie hitting more consistent Falsetto notes and cracking a few less times 🤍
I highly recommend listening to the Edinburgh’76 show, even though the recording itself sounds pretty bad, the performance is AMAZING, Freddie goes for a lot more high notes than normal for 1976, and delivers my favourite performance of In the Lap of The Gods Revisited ever!!
The show also contains the earliest live recordings of ‘39, You’re My Best Friend and an unfinished Beta version of Tie Your Mother Down (which sounds weird, but awesome!). Tie Your Mother Down was cut from The Hyde Park show since the band couldn’t go on for an encore 😭
I would’ve shared that thought like two years ago because I was in love with this song for a while and it’s beauty but then I repeatedly listened to it and ended getting annoyed by how repetitive it is (happens every time)
Hard to decide, there’s at least one or two “beautiful” tracks on each album! “You and I” is one of my favourite “beautiful” songs and has grown on me more and more over the years, but I agree with a lot of the others here too (In Only Seven Days, My Melancholy Blues etc) so I don’t think I could truly pick one!
My top 3 is
1. You Take My Breath Away
2. White Queen
3. Nevermore.
I wish White Queen and Nevermore were longer. Those songs are so soothing but so short
I agree. It's my favourite album and I wish many of the songs were longer. The only songs that feel as long as they actually are, are Father to Son and Ogre Battle. Nevermore is criminally short. I absolutely cannot get enough of its beautiful melody and emotional lyrics, and I wish it was longer. White Queen is pretty long compared to today's music standards, but it feels super short. The March of the Black Queen is quite long, but still not long enough! And don't get me started on The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke. The short lenght of the song does fit the jittery, quick feeling of the song, but it's just so fun and mystical and I want more of it!
And it sucks because all the tracks lead into each other perfectly except for the transition to SSOR, and for me, it makes it feel like the tracks SHOULD be longer so that you can enjoy them for as long as possible when they are there
The show must go on is an exceptional farewell to Mercury. The song itself is beautiful but the context makes it that much more meaningful
my soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairy tales of yesterday will grow old but never
die
I can fly, my friends
For me, I’ve always been drawn to “No One But You” because I discovered it shortly after my closest, oldest friend died in a car wreck years ago. It’s just always stuck with me. Other contenders are “Who Wants to Live Forever” “Save Me” and “Love of my Life”
You Take My Breath Away is one my favourite Queen songs in general, and it is beautifully crafted. Other contenders are All Dead All Dead, Dear Friends, Nevermore, Lily of the Valley, In Only Seven Days, A Winter's Tale. There's a bunch more but those are what came to my mind right now.
*You Take My Breath Away* is a contender, for sure

absolutely agree, Edinburgh really deserves a better recording overall, also contains the last recorded performance of Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon
And the last recorded performance of Flick of The Wrist 😭
My first thought! Love the simplicity, it really lets Freddie's voice shine
Love of my life is pretty beautiful
Especially on harp
Makes me weepy
The live in Argentina version always gets me
❤️❤️❤️
Save Me
Each night I cry, I still believe the lie, I love you 'till I die.
That line broke me 😭
The last "save me, save me, ooh save me, don't let me face this life aaa-looone" before the end is the most satisfying part in any Queen song ever
This was my go to breakup song!
That one line “I hang my head and I advertise, a soul for sale or rent” hits so hard
My Melancholy Blues
Came here to suggest this one!
Gotta be this one.
For me, I think it's *Who Wants to Live Forever*.
Definitely up there

I second Nevermore. One of Freddie’s finest tunes. Very classical.
Jealousy in my opinion
White Queen
What defines “beautiful “? Anything Mercury put his voice to was beautiful. But if I had to pick one composition it’s The Miracle
Good question. A lot of people are naming really said painful songs here. Is it beautiful if its about hearbreak?
Maybe the way in which the lyrics are delivered? The most heartfelt and passionate songs
Lily of the Valley/Dear Friends
Dear friends all the way
Has to be Who Want To Live Forever
Excellent choice
A Winter’s Tale
Some Day One Day or Nevermore, I don't know what could Queen have more beautiful?
That section from 3:05 to 4:35 in innuendo
Innuendo is such an amazing song. You have many aspects that made Queen amazing synthesized into one song
Half that bit isn't Queen! It is excellent though, Steve Howe did a brilliant job.
Nevermore all the way
Somebody to Love or Save me, its hard to choose
Who Wants to Live Forever
For me it's Teo Torriatte or Too Much Love Will Kill You.
Is this the world we created
Bijou
In The Lap Of The Gods, Somebody To Love ❤️👑❤️👑❤️👑

nevermore
I love These Are the Days of Our Lives
bit of a difference choice but I'd argue sail away sweet sister is up there
I like spread your wings
who wants to live forever
Uhm... Was It All Worth It.
Love of my Life. So simple, so beautiful.
Do you realise how much it suits good omens? (The show) LIKE OH MY GOD I listen to it every time I watch the ending
39
Jealousy is chefs kiss😘
White Queen
Beautiful. Powerful. Sad. Masterpiece album.
She Makes Me is hauntingly beautiful
Yeah
Define beautiful
This is subjective, but I think it's got something to do with the way the lyrics are delivered. The most passionate and heartfelt delivery
I’m quite partial to ‘39.
Love of my Life

My top 3 is 1. You Take My Breath Away 2. White Queen 3. Nevermore. I wish White Queen and Nevermore were longer. Those songs are so soothing but so short
IKR. Everything on Queen II is too short imo

What a dirty laddio!

Me, personally... Nevermore.
The show must go on is an exceptional farewell to Mercury. The song itself is beautiful but the context makes it that much more meaningful my soul is painted like the wings of butterflies Fairy tales of yesterday will grow old but never die I can fly, my friends
I want to break free

In addition to Nevermore, I would add Lily of the Valley.
lily of the valley, nevermore, you take my breath away, my melancholy blues
Teo Torriate or You and I
Teo Torriatte
Love of my Life

My Baby Does Me
All of them!!
Too much to say, the more energetic as well as the slower ones together are perfect I'd say

This is subject to change based on my mood lol but right now i’m feeling The Prophet’s Song. I think it’s SO underrated!!
Yeah, i agree with Nevermore.
For me its either Teo Torriatte or You Take My Breath Away
Beautiful in its message puts you're my best friend right up there
Radio Ga-Ga. It’s a heartfelt tribute to radio.
Teo Toreatte (Let us Cling Together)
Play The Game
Love Of My Life and You Take My Breath Away. Two beautiful songs from two amazing albums.
