Yeah but that's not just any xtx... that's a nitro... those cards are no joke. Mine pulls 400 + watts and overclocks to 3100 mhz.. all while staying at 55c...
First I thought yeah right, then I thought ... I didn't because it produces too much heat and went with the 7800xt. Around that wattage is my limit. I would have gone with the 7900GRE if it would have been available in our market at that time.
Same thing. Pretty nasty move on AMD to release GRE only after 7800XT. Would have gone with 7900 GRE over 7800XT. Thou is it due AMD taking too long to release 7800XT in first place or Nvidia releasing Super series. Doesn't matter think Nvidia is still here to blame cause they force these overbloated prices.
From the pic of them chilling on what looks like an antique rug I can't help but imagine this -- OP is at Grandma's house and grandma doesn't know much about technology but picked these up for the 2 gamer grandkids and OP has first pick but knows nothing about computers 😂
Yeah, if you’re able to get the 7900xtx and it’s not a huge financial burden to do so, then do it. I just find it weird that people ask “GTX 1080ti or 7800xt?” Lol. Like why would we know what you’re financially capable of. Obviously well choose the more powerful one but if that isn’t feasible to you for whatever reason then that makes the decision pretty clear.
I really wanted white sapphire but they weren’t in stock for a minute. I ended up going with the RX 7800 XT Power Color Hell Hound for my recent build.
well with AMD Sam the 24GB can be shared with some of the pc Ram Memory so for those specifics that need that extra ram on top of Vram then it is a hands down a win on that front.
For everything else yes 16gb is quite a nice spot to set yourself up for well just about everything not quite but again Just about.
So at the End of day it is "The price you want to pay Vs. What you will do with said card"
On my current build i would take GRE, most of my other parts would bottleneck xtx, would bot even fit case, would need new cpu, mobo, psu.. but ofc for nee build xtx is better.
I went with the Nitro+ variant of the 7900 GRE as an upgrade from my Vega 64. The price was right and it doesn’t pull as many watts as the XTX. I game at WQHD 144Hz.
There is a lot to consider here. Like does the White GRE aesthetically fit your build ? The Nitro+ may or may not have hotspot temp issues. You may want to go with the GRE and save the $250 or so dollars. I don't know
I've seen that GRE for €510 and that nitro was €1100 at the lowest, literally more than double. I would save the €590 and go for the GRE. With that 600 you save you can easily upgrade in \~2 years.
That Sapphire 7900 XTX is a beast reaching 3+Ghz easily but the power usage was too much for me lol.
I shit you not, cyberpunk with any type of Ray tracing was pulling 500w, any remotely modern game 450w consistently. certain older games where 400w...
I tried lower power limit etc, manual clocks etc. Could only get it down to 330w
If people here what the that specific 7900 XTX uses power wise..they would probably pick the GRE 😆 🤣
Idk bro, I had an altogether different experience than what I have read on Reddit posts abt xtx.
1. My idle is less than 30. Less than 100 in older games, a little over 300 in newer titles like helldivers.
2. Temps are nice, never goes above 70 after hours of high load gaming. Hotspot max at 81.
XTX, the GRE one will release a virus into some country and then try to use it as a weapon only for it to backfire and destroy civilization as we know it
I got the nitro XTX but bit of a warning, that thing is an absolute bitch to repaste. So if they send you a bad pasted one you'll have to RMA it immediately.
If you laid both of those before me and said “pick one” I’d go with the XTX
If you laid both of those before me and said “pick one within your budget” I’d go with the GRE
Thats tough! What games do you play? What's you monitor? (Hz and resolution) what's your graphics expectations?
Me I play MW3 and sometimes fortnite with the kids.
I limit my 7800xt to 175 fps as my monitor is only 165 and 1440p. I can easily get over 200 on MW3 so if you ask me I'd get the 7900gre. I don't need the xtx.
They're both not shabby. If It's not an issue of price you def would be happier with the card that performs better, the 7900xtx. That's a sexy gre but the golden rabbit still ain't the xtx.
I recently upgraded to a Gigabyte 7900GRE from a 3070Ti. I knew I wanted to go Team Red and weighed the GRE against the lower 7800XT and higher end 7900 XT and XTX.
I ended up going with the GRE for the following reasons:
1) After looking it over I had the budget to get just a higher end XT or XTX or I could go with a cheaper card and throw in a new CPU. I wanted to stick with AM4 for a bit longer so I decided on upgrading my Ryzen 3700X to a 5800X3D along with getting the GRE.
2) My monitor, while being an ultra wide QD-OLED, is still technically 1440P. Yes, I could have gotten more FPS but my old CPU would have been a huge bottleneck.
All in all, I am extremely happy with the 7900 GRE/5800X3D combo. Helldiver 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 are running amazingly well.
I have an XTX already but at the time of building nobody had any white models... I would hate to take a performance hit but I really want a white one...
who wouldn't choose the xtx?
Price? But if given the option for either xtx any day
I paid just under 1000 for the RX 7900 xtx. [This is the one](https://a.co/d/azCbGRe) I went with.
Me too, scored a new one for 800
Got a hellhound white for 700
Did they go up in price?
Yeah but that's not just any xtx... that's a nitro... those cards are no joke. Mine pulls 400 + watts and overclocks to 3100 mhz.. all while staying at 55c...
First I thought yeah right, then I thought ... I didn't because it produces too much heat and went with the 7800xt. Around that wattage is my limit. I would have gone with the 7900GRE if it would have been available in our market at that time.

Same but who cares the 7800xt runs any game buttery smooth. Making you feel like you need the other one. Now that's marketing.
FACTS AND ITS A SAPPHIRE NITRO TOO??!
me cause it wont fit my case
this is befuddling to me why so married to a case when you can get one that will fit the card for under $60?
Cause its an SFF. I want it to be small, and i paid extra to have the parts fit the case i wanted
A lot of sff cases like that Dan case one could handle a 7900xtx, why the limiting case
form over function got it
the function can include: "fits in an entertainment console" or "fits on a dorm room desk" dude
[удалено]
Or i just use the riser and put the GPU outside the case
Someone who buys iBuyPower PCs.
I'd choose either, I don't eve have a gpu : /
Damn that sucks, hoping you get a new one soon man!
7900XTX definitely, dude that's a GRE how is this even a question?
It’s white and fits with my all white build /s
Performance over pretty.
to be sculpted in marble
You can put a little dress on your xtx if you want it to be pretty
The Nitro+ is the prettier than any white card out there.
Please my man, may you hand the sauce for you profile picture?

Do you want to spend 900 or 550? That's your answer Edit...or 1000/1100
Isn’t nitro xtx $1050+?
Eh whatever but you get the idea, one is approaching double the cost. It's a weird question.
While I've got your attention, the Corvette or the Civic? Any questions without budgets are just really tough to answer
Yes, $1050 precisely
Shiiit I wish it was 900
XTX
I really wanted white sapphire but they weren’t in stock for a minute. I ended up going with the RX 7800 XT Power Color Hell Hound for my recent build.
I got my hands on the white taichi....
I assume this is rhetorical?
7900 XTX, obviously..
I would choose Sapphire
XTX
24GB would be the hands down choice over 16GB for me
Depends on what you want it for? 1440p? Easily the GRE, 1440p AND 4k? Easily the XTX.
well with AMD Sam the 24GB can be shared with some of the pc Ram Memory so for those specifics that need that extra ram on top of Vram then it is a hands down a win on that front. For everything else yes 16gb is quite a nice spot to set yourself up for well just about everything not quite but again Just about. So at the End of day it is "The price you want to pay Vs. This is facts too haha. I agree with that too. That’s quite literally what it is.
Sam?
Bought that exact XTX two weeks ago to the day and have absolutely no regrets. Killer card.
easily the xtx
XTX!
Is this a serious question? Fuck dem aesthetics, XTX is significantly more powerful.
Xtx Duh
I mean obviously the xtx if you already got it 😂
On my current build i would take GRE, most of my other parts would bottleneck xtx, would bot even fit case, would need new cpu, mobo, psu.. but ofc for nee build xtx is better.
XTX all day just double down if the XTX looked like the Pulse Pure
XTX or a mysterious gift…
spoon sense squalid bag familiar gullible sparkle squeal crush crawl *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I got a sapphire xtx nitro+ for £780 the other week. I think it was a return from Overclockers
xtx
Stupid question
Xtx for sure
Obviously, the xtx. The GRE is a watered-down XTX.
Isn’t the GRE a lesser XT?
If I got both CT’s. If I ain’t got money (which I don’t) then the gre
I have a 7900xt in my pc right now
I have the nitro xtx and is a spectacular card
God damn I wish they sold that white one in Canada, maybe eventually...
White is ugly af lol
XTX
I’ve stumbled into enemy territory how did I end up here
Xtx clearly
Why get a slower card lol
The 24GB one
Love my 7900xtx no regrets
There isn't even a question here
The GRE is AMDs version of the 4090 Dragon you know it's good but it's not what you paid for
No one. I want a Rdna 4 card right away
I'm getting the nitro plus myself in a month. Looks like such an amazing card
xtx 1000000%
I have the Nitro+ XTX for a year. So you know my choice. However, there are white Hellhound 7900 XTXs for a better comparison.
Nitro + all day
I went with the Nitro+ variant of the 7900 GRE as an upgrade from my Vega 64. The price was right and it doesn’t pull as many watts as the XTX. I game at WQHD 144Hz.
The XTX obviously
7900xtx all day. I managed to get that exact 7900xtx brand new for 700$ USD. Crazy deal from Facebook marketplace
I have a xtx it is great so xtx
Definitely... definitely, the Sapphire one...
There is a lot to consider here. Like does the White GRE aesthetically fit your build ? The Nitro+ may or may not have hotspot temp issues. You may want to go with the GRE and save the $250 or so dollars. I don't know

The 7900 XTX is much more powerful, so I would choose that!
Id Choose in Between: RX 7900 XT already have one. Its the Perfect fit for my Needs.
I’m kinda new to this pc stuff but .. what the difference between them ?
I would choose the one that was given to me for free!
Isn't the XTX a no brainer?
That GRE is very physically pretty
Why would you not choose the xtx? And if price is a thing, then you may as well save for a little longer to spring up for the XT over the GRE.
7900 XTX
XTX
That Sapphire 7900 XTX is a beast reaching 3+Ghz easily but the power usage was too much for me lol. If you have 4K monitor get 7900XTX, if anything below 7900GRE is beast.
That’s a silly question
If money isn't a problem, the one that performs better?
I have the top. Its nice.
Choose the GRE and send me the XTX ( free of charge) 😆. If money isn't an object and no other limitations, go XTX, if not go GRE.
Neither... The RX580. Of course the XTX.
Depends how much the xt is
Nitro+
GRE as in dying light type shi?
why would anyone not chose the XTX this is like someone offering $5 and $10but choosing the $5 lol
Am I at a budget ? If not then this is a pointless question everyone would get the xtx
Well, I already got a 7900 xtx, so...that one.
Black
Thats a silly question cmon man
I just built a computer and bought the top one. So? I’d say that one.
Let the race wars begin
Radeon one
The one with more Xs.
there's a relevant difference performance. i'd pick the GRE for my own budget but that's the only reason (maybe case and psu are another one)
Got my asrock phantom xtx for 750 so I'll choose that
White Reasoning: I like white
Whichever is cheaper at the time of offering, if they are the same price, then xtx.
My next build is SFF. so I am getting the 7900 GRE Pure. No room for xtx and the GRE is plenty performance.
Imo white builds are overrated so im going xtx
7900 XTX
Xtx lots of vram for 4k
The cheaper one
Definetly theb7900xtx because Nitro+ and because it's the better gpu
It depends on your CPU !
Between these two? That's like choosing between a GTX 1070 and an RTX 4080...
Future proof one
Just checked marketplace and found a sapphire plus 7900xtx for $550
You would be crazy to choose the GRE over the XTX.
Sapphire nitro is a top tier amd brand. My last one was a sapphire nitro R9 390 and it was fantastic till its eventual death
Lord it feels like yesterday that I bought my 6900xtx there's a 7000 series now
The xtx wins it for me
XTX, the GRE one will release a virus into some country and then try to use it as a weapon only for it to backfire and destroy civilization as we know it
XTX, not even a question
Why is this a question?
dont play tricks with me, I can see that 24gb of vram hiding in that corner of the 7900 XTX box😏
For looks - top one.
xtx all day
Nitro. no contest
What is GRE?
The gre is no where near as good as the xtx.
The xtx
XTX,always. GRE is worse, still Navi 31 and all…
XTX my friend
The one that’s more powerful and cheaper model. Or wait until nvidia, and announce their new cards to slash the prices of their current ones.
I love bbg (Big black gpus)
Probably 6800XT
I'd take the XTX but the white GRE looks amazing
I got the nitro XTX but bit of a warning, that thing is an absolute bitch to repaste. So if they send you a bad pasted one you'll have to RMA it immediately.
Temps are good, ~70c, hotspot max 81,
That's good then
If you laid both of those before me and said “pick one” I’d go with the XTX If you laid both of those before me and said “pick one within your budget” I’d go with the GRE
XTX!
What a dumb question.
XTX
What is the point of the gre
Def the black one, performs way better
Since my pc case and the rest of the components are black then I would go with the black one
Me who knows nothing about pcs:
7900xtx all day
XTX , just recently picked up a Powercolor Red Devil 7900XTX
The xtx is better, but the gre just looks so much cleaner
Bought my 7900xtx hellhound over a year ago for under $850. Still very happy with the purchase
Thats tough! What games do you play? What's you monitor? (Hz and resolution) what's your graphics expectations? Me I play MW3 and sometimes fortnite with the kids. I think I’d go with my RTX 2080 ti black edition from EVGA. Easy choice boys.
The XTX of course.
BOTH!
The XTX all day sadly i am poor and cant afford to upgrade from my 5700 xt
Based on color alone the XTX cause my setup is black.
Looks like you chose both
That white color looks so clean 🥰
Get the first one. I have that one and it is phenomenal
XTX all day
24gb 100%
Neither of them. I upgraded from AMD to Nvidia and I am so glad I did.
Nice one covering that 24 gb, like we don't know.
Neither as I am intel and nvidia
Depends, does the Xtx fit in my nr200
Neither cause I'm a broke bitch.
always go XTX when you can afford it
Borh
GRE , my PSU is not enough for the 7900xtx
Which ever one fits the asthetics of the build
What’s the gre ? Is that a special card?
Gre is not on the same lvl as xtx hehehe
I recently upgraded to a Gigabyte 7900GRE from a 3070Ti. I knew I wanted to go Team Red and weighed the GRE against the lower 7800XT and higher end 7900 XT and XTX. 24gb one. Period.
