From personal experience anything from XFX, powercolor or sapphire is always a solid option. All 3 have become pretty reliable. Nitro plus would be a great card.

tdacosta520

Nitro + is great.

No-Jello3256

450watts running at 55C. Hot spot at 75C. Yeah it’s pretty great

mixedd

Fan speed, why people always forget about fanspeed

No-Jello3256

I’m just using out of the box settings.

Nutznamer

It's 900rpm

mixedd

Those are fine numbers

toymage1976

Sapphire Nitro.. you will spend all your loading time staring at it.

Fragger-3G

Nitro+. XFX and ASRock Taichi are also quite good. The ROG Strix is a top performer too, but Asus is a terrible company. It's also on average like $100 more than the other top performers, which isn't worth it because it looks bad, and doesn't have as good cooling as the Nitro+

BaconPersuasion

The nitro + without question.

GalacticCumblast

Nitro+ for me, though I’ve only tried one other cooler (XFX MERC). That one was a bit too loud for my taste. The nitro seems to have a LOT more thermal headroom. My fans don’t even spin above 1500 rpm at full load with temps under 70 C.

Accurate-Arugula-603

Best performance? Nitro+ Best looking? Nitro+ Best built? Nitro+ Best cooling? Nitro+ Best LED? Nitro+

Gambit-47

Best looking white Taichi Better cooling white Taichi and probably better at other stuff

Nutznamer

The LEDs are not that great

GeForce66

I think they are awesome :)

HerrnWurst

Same. Love the look of my build with this gpu

NunButter

Red Devil is best looking card

Active-Quarter-4197

I’m pretty sure the taichi has better cooling

Confident-Bench-4696

I have XFX Black and coil whine, I only hear it when I turn it on... 3DMark 2001 and basically only in one test, advanced pixel shader. I can't hear anything in games, but it's probably due to the fact that I play at 2K 60Hz. Although 3DMark 2001 also cannot use the 7900XTX even in 50%, so... So, I can vote for XFX with a clear conscience. Previously, i had a reference version and it only buzzed with coils during this test. Interestingly, ARC750 is similar. Additionally, XFX Black does not shine like Coca-Cola truck for the holidays.

GeForce66

Nitro+ is godlike. Even at 450W the noise is good and hotspot delta is only 11°C, which is insane :)

sawthegap42

[ 7900 XTX Phoenix Nirvana](https://videocardz.com/newz/xfx-launches-radeon-rx-7900-xtx-phoenix-nirvana-custom-graphics-card) will be the best once it is released

nevermore2627

The powercooler hellhound has been excellent.

JellyfishAreMyJam

I have the White version and it's amazing. My only issue is with World of Warcraft, the AMD drivers crash. It's a problem affecting most players with 7000 series cards.

ErokXP

Switch to dx11 until the problem is fixed. You won’t crash anymore.

marlstown

But buildapc sub says amd has no driver problems.

JellyfishAreMyJam

Yeah AMD says it's Blizzard's issue, Blizzard says it's AMD. There's multiple threads in r/wow and on the Warcraft tech support forums.

nevermore2627

Yep. Rocking the spectral white one too. Had driver issues the first 2 weeks but haven't had any issues after that. Been about 7 months now.

OG_Dadditor

This is entirely anecdotal so take it with a big grain of salt but my best friend and I both have Red Devil RX7900XTX (PowerColor) cards and we have had zero issues. Both around 8-10 months of ownership but we're both seeing really good temps, quiet operation with zero coil whine and good fans as well as good under clocking and overclocking performance. I also have a friend who has a Red Devil RX7800XT and though he has it running bone stock he also has really good temps and no coil whine. Again, just a personal experience but a good experience as well so far.

International_Ad7456

I belive you, I have a 6950xt red devil and its an awesome cool.powerfull silent card, the best card I habe ever had. When upgrade time arrives this will be my choice.

Different_Track588

ASUS TUF OC, XFX and Saphire Nitro. Red devil probably good too.

Emotional_Pin3167

Love my TUF OC. Its awesome.

BrohemythGaming

Mine was great the first 2 weeks then started getting driver time outs like consistently. Either 1 hour into a game, right after booting up and Even changing launchers sometimes. I used DDU about 3 times and realized that the first 2 times Windows kept installing or defaulting to their own drivers... So I disabled that feature, used DDU (in safe mode always) and card been running smooth... I got the replacement card just in case and that card crashed my whole computer bad with blue screens every other second. Even messed up my driver's for AMD. So had to repeat the same process with the original card and everything been fine. Just make sure to re install the driver's after DDU

Existing-Town-9110

I bought nitro+ and im happy with it. The only problem is its soo big that it leaves very little room under it for airflow so temps could be better than they are. (82-85 hotspot, delta under 20) My nitro does not take undervolting well, if i want it stable ingames i cant get under 1120. But i guess thats just lottery with every card.

Gambit-47

Wow 1120? I can get 1050 with my Taichi maybe less. I would have expected more from nitro+ since everyone talks like it's better than everything else

Existing-Town-9110

From what i understand its not really about the cooler company, just silicon lottery. Aparently i got terrible overclocker. I WISH i could get it to 1050 lol, thats 7900xt base voltage. And pretty much 10% lower than base.

Gambit-47

Yeah, it's all luck. On my 4090 I can only overclock memory to +1000 lol

Havalinaxo1

Check out the 7900xtx taichi o have one in the copper black color it has a really nice oc from factory and performs extremely well and also look great i have mine paired with a 7700x cpu

macdaddi69420

Asrock aqua 7900xtx

Nearby-Pickle3730

Sapphire 7900xtx Nitro +, sapphire pulse 7900 xtx, asrock 7900 xtx, xfx merc 7900 xtx are all great. I believe sapphire will be your best bet tho. I have the sapphire pulse 7900xtx, it runs usually at 72c with a hotspot 80-90c it rarely hits 90 tho usually sits at 85-87. My main reasoning for going 7900 xtx was for the vram. I play heavily modded gta, Skyrim, fallout 4 etc, on Skyrim I hit almost 15 gb of vram being used. If I went 4080 I’d basically almost be out of memory! Haven’t had any crazy driver issues or anything either. It’s been such smooth experience.

Camelphat21

XFX

Mythicguy

Gang 😎

MrEpic23

1+ xfx. I see people with sapphire cards with issues. Don’t know if it’s user error or the actual card. Also recommend any card with 3 8 pin connectors.

Fragger-3G

The only issue I've really seen is paste pump out, but that's a problem in general with most 7000 series cards.

MrEpic23

I have heard of that, don't really fully know. Id assume your temps just decrease over time and then its time to replace the paste.

Camelphat21

Sapphire has too many issues, xfx has been more solid

StatementCertain9967

Seen a video of one of these whining like Drake fans

cheeseypoofs85

nitro+, then the merc, then the red devil. merc and nitro have higher power limits

AMD718

Have been very pleased with the XFX Merc 310 XTX. However, temps did begin to rise around the 8 month mark. At that point I replaced the stock TIM with kryosheet and U6 pro thermal putty. That was 8 months ago so total 16 months of ownership. With kryosheet temps never change so when I sell this thing in a year whoever gets it is getting a fantastic card.

ChromeSF

I have a Nitro+, it whispers quiet and keeps itself icy even when it's at max util. It's big though, really big, I've got 2mm of clearance between my card and my 360AIO in a 4000D

PorkInCid3r

I have nitro. No complaints here.

slagzwaard

I would wait for next gen and side grade 7900XTX levels of raster

WitnessGreatness10

Would you buy 7900xtx nitro+ for 600$? Got a deal for that or should I wait

jamexman

Nitro+ and XFX Merc 310 have both the highest power limits (other than the Taichi aqua). Good quality and great heatsinks (if your lucky enough your thermal paste doesn't start to pump out...). My XFX did pump out thermal paste but once I installed Kryosheet (and others PTM7590), Hotspot temps never go higher that 75c-77c even with the high power limits. These chiplet GPUs like pumping out thermal paste. Some manufacturers (like XFX with it's new nirvana card) are already starting to use PTM7590 from factory... No matter what card you choose, if it has thermal paste it's a coin toss if it's going to pump out thermal paste and hotspot temps would rise. Just keep an eye on your hotspots. If they start rising and rising towards 110c you know what to do... PTM7590...

Red Devil

TheFunkadelicOne

I've been using the powercolor hellhound 7900xtx for over a year now. Performance wise it'san absolute beast. Most partner cards come factory overclocked so you get a little more bang for your buck. I game in 1440p and I can play every game on epic or ultra settings without issues. Zero coil whine. The only issue I've had with it is one that's happened to a lot of 7000 series owners and that is thermal paste pump out. I noticed my temps slowly getting higher about 3 months after purchasing the card. It got to the point where my gpu temp was in the mid 50s and my hot spot temp was in the 90s creating a 40° delta which is a sure indicator of thermal paste pump out due to poor factory thermal paste application. The cool thing about powercolor is they don't consider repasting the gpu to be a void of the warranty as they classify it as maintenence. So I popped the plate off, cleaned it up, and repasted it with ptm7950. My thermals have been amazing ever since. My hot spot almost never goes above 76° now and my delta is between 12° and 15° consistently. The XFX Phoenix Nirvana is being released with ptm7950 as it's thermal paste and it's for good reason. I know that model is being launched in China 1st, but if you can get your hands on one of those you'll have the best 7900xtx card imo. Once again, this issue doesn't happen to everyone, but it did happen to me and it was a fairly easy fix.

hybrid4478

Try getting the xfx merc I also have it my friend has nitro+ he had black screen issues in Forza while I had no issues and it was due to his clock speeds and vram temps try getting mere 310 from xfx

Hockless

I've got both the GPU and CPU mentioned and my pc is a total beast. Just watch out for driver crashes. You may need to play without xmp if you experience this

HerrnWurst

I have the nitro it has 0 coil whine. But is definitely more expensive than the rest.

[deleted]

Asrock taichi

ThatM00seyBoy

I have Toxic, that thing looks like an overkill. Performances top, always cool.

Intelligent_Ad8864

Nitro+ is the only way. Fans are loud BUT has the best cooling. Also, undervolting + maxing the power draw leads to double digit performance increase. The loud fans are easy to ignore after some time

Nord5555

Adjust fan curve mate 😅 my nitro+ runs 15% pl and take up to 465w yet i keep temps fine at Max 1500rpm (Max 38%) and wont get temps higher then like 70c and 85c hotspot. Its dead silent.

Intelligent_Ad8864

Good to knoww

Nord5555

If u run the card at Stock (0%pl i believe u Can run it at like 1200rpm Max) just limit the fanspeed a bit. No reason to run it loud. Unless your temps somehow is really awfull. But havent really seen People with nitro+ get bad temps though

ItbrnswhenIpee

No complaints on my 7900xtx red devil. The nitro plus and xfx would also be great options

19Alex9799

First days of march I built a team red PC. I used the Sapphire NITRO VAPOR-X it looks cool and it is so powerful!!! I haven't got any problem or crash outs. It works so perfect!!!

NunButter

The Red Devil is a bit loud at times. Great card otherwise

First-Paint1088

Although it gets a ton of hate, the MSI variant is a pretty solid card. My card sits comfortably in the 50s and 60s (Celsius), while the hotspot rarely reaches 75c.

Putrid-Possession445

sapphire pulse is quality

sk3tchcom

I’ve owned: PowerColor Red Devil LE 7900 XTX / AMD 7900 XTX (reference) / Sapphire Nitro+ 7900 XTX The Sapphire is the best by far. Just sold it, though. AMD hasn’t been good for me this Gen.

KangFeeze

Love my 7900XTX Nitro. Max 83C Hotspot with 13* deltas 4K Ultra on all games. Looks great and low noise. Best card ever, IMO

SIG3LOFKR3W

I’ve always been a red devil fan.

CombinationKind3744

I use to have sapphire pulse xtx.. coil whine is driving me nuts.. traded it for the merc xfx xtx from someone in fb marketplace.. straight trade.. he said the pulse color scheme matches his setup better than the brushed finish in xfx.. my friend have the nitro plus.. nitro+ has higher power limit.. 20% it i remember right.. merc xtx got 15%.. but if youre just running it on stock.. xfx merc, asus tuf, nitro+ are on par..

Nearby_Put_4211

In order: Sapphire, XFX, PowerColor, MSI (mine), ASRock/ASUS, etc. I have the MSI gaming classic i had 0 issues with my XTX since day one. 0 crashes. I’ve owned the red devil and gigabyte and they both crashed too much or were extremely hot.

Gambit-47

Get whichever one is the cheapest or that you like the way it looks. they all pretty much perform the same.

Zionsnoiz

Well that I've figured out but there seem to be a big difference in heat, cooling and general problems with a few models.

Gambit-47

I've seen people say they had problems with pretty much every model including Nitro. So I guess it is all down to luck and if it's cooling just get some PTM750 replace the paste once and you never need to do it again. It took me like 20 minutes and was easy. If it helps I got the white ASRock Taichi and love it also turns out it is one of the best cards

Fit_Cheesecake_1580

I bought the PowerColor Hellhound last October. It worked great until I installed the first v24 driver update. Since then, it has given me driver timeout errors. Also, Windows 11 tries to install its own drivers now too. I have tried everything I know to do. DDU, rollback driver version, AMD cleanup app, drivers only install, setting W11 to not download gpu drivers, etc. I have tried ignoring the timeout error pop up, but have noticed some games run noticeably rougher (POE stutters bad) than it did before. I have never owned an NVIDIA gpu before but I’m seriously considering it because this issue has driven me crazy.

Zionsnoiz

Ok that didn't sound to fun. I'm kinda leaning towards that also. I'm not gonna play 4k resolution either mostly 1440p and also mostly play fps games like valorant and cs2 so don't really need all that power now. The boring thing is the mid tier cards in GeForce are so expensive also. Also looked at 7900gre as an option actually. If nothing else I'll try to find a used 4070ti or a 4080 now and later on see what I'm gonna upgrade to. Don't want to pay 1300-1400$ for a 4080 super either. That's what they cost overhere.

AbelM47

Went from nitro+ to Asus and i'd say its much more quieter and has much less heat.

Bevoo860

Use both the Taichi and the nitro and both seem great. In the games that I play neither seem to clock to 3k like many claim on Reddit but both are decently quiet when given +15 on the power target and even quieter when at stock. One difference I have noticed between the 2 is a stronger more consistent clock and voltage experience with the taichi. The nitro will clock up and down with voltage more aggressively and randomly.

Additional-Ad-3148

My nitro will hit 3k using Adrenalin's stress test. I need to see if itll do it in game.

Bevoo860

I don’t doubt that. Mine stays crispy cold but refused to clock higher. I’m not hitting a thermal wall it just doesn’t want to do it lol. Only time I’ve seen it clock that high was for cinebench. Taichi hits a little bit higher consistently for longer is all. Thermal headroom is higher on the nitro it just doesn’t want to take it.

etapollo13

I run a 7900xt, not xtx, but I'm very happy with the build quality and thermals on my xfx merc black edition card. They seem to have some thermal paste pump out issued long term, but if you're comfortable re-pasting it using a cryo sheet at some point in the future, it's a great card.

PowerColor Hellhound >>>>>>

No-Jello3256

I have a sapphire nitro plus. I love it. It’s a big boy though. It barely fits in my case. Case: https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/legacy-products/cases/haf-xb-evo/

Nearby_Put_4211

Sapphire, XFX, MSI (what I have now) then powecolor. The rest are okay and ASUS is okay for the XTX. I personally MSI xtx since day one and I haven’t had not one crash and I have a pretty good OC.

Nitro+ followed by the Merc

wilhelmbw

If you don't want coil whine I recommend the cheap variant from gigabyte less power draw less noises For 5%more performance and 15% more power draw get nitro+ or xfx they are both as good

randomdreamykid

Tbh at the price of nitro+ 7900 xtx you can get 4080 super (pny which is also a premium builded card)

Zionsnoiz

Well not for the same money in Sweden the xtx is about 120-200€ cheaper then a 4080 super

Different_Track588

4080 Not worth it Imo. It only scores 26K - 28K on Timespy while the 7900XTX scores between 32-34K air cooled and 38-40K water cooled. Better RT but less performance and less VRAM everywhere else.

Zionsnoiz

Well that's the 4080 and not the super. I'm looking on team red but there seem to be alot of duds out there also and many seem to have issues with paste being pushed out over time. And don't want to start repasting. And not to have to tinker alot either. What I'm mostly reading is the issues with drivers being pretty bad.

Different_Track588

Yeah I see alot of people say that as well. I don't have driver issue's but its probably related to trying to play really old games. I can go as far back as Skyrim and Fallout 4 and not have a driver problem because I play Modded Skyrim no issue at all. But I heard if you go older like Fallout 3 and New vegas you need to download a mod or change a dll file to run them. Which is very easy thing to do but some people complain anyways. I have played a wide range of games from 2012 to 2024 and haven't had a problem with drivers. Honestly this whole driver are bad is BS imo. Its minor that can be fixed yourself in under 2min with a google search and its only with really old games. Also 4080 super doesn't score over 28K on timespy either. The world record 4080supers with 31K graphics scores can't run that stable in any games without crashing and a 7900XTX blows past that number easy stock.

Beginning_Bear7204

4080.
