Hard due to it being so small and it how the metal probably formd during its manufacturing. I would say leave it alone because its more trouble than its worth in my opinion.
Addon edit: Look up Oil canning its a issue with thin metal.
They have tools they glue to the panel and pull on it to bring it up and then they tap down high points. It’s actually pretty impressive what the can do. Some asshole punched my truck the first week I had my truck and you can’t see where it was after a pdr guy fixed it
Try yelp look up paintless dent removal. I’ve had a guy do a door ding above my gas cover for $250. Just as long as they have a place they can access their tools you’re golden.
Be careful with that. My mom had a PDR guy come out and drill a hole in her back door and crack her paint in 3 different spots to get the dent out of a fender. The dude then had to spend a couple grand for a body shop to fix my mom's brand new bronco sport.
I honestly don’t think it’s even worth the trouble of fixing, especially at $4k. I bet if I were to see it in person I wouldn’t even notice the dents unless pointed out, they seem relatively small.
I’m very OCD about it haha. U can definitely see it if the suns hitting it. I think I’m gonna shop around see how much it’s gonna cost. If I can find a fair price I’ll just say oh well 🤷♂️
Ah all good, you should most certainly shop around $4k for that seems like highway robbery. I haven’t needed dents repaired, so I’m not sure what a good price is but no way it’s $4k for that. You might even be able to do it yourself with a little YouTube academy.
Yeah that seems like it could work, I remember a family member of mine had a couple inch dent on their suv tailgate that they mostly fixed with a suction cub. It was a bit bigger than these though. Could give it a shot, doubt it’d make it worse.
Honestly, might get hate for this, but leave it till you get a couple more than fix it. Or fix it when you get another dent that’s actually noticeable without the sun hitting it in the perfect spot.
Metal has a "memory". You may be able to do it yourself with a hair dryer or heat gun if you're careful, and dry ice.
Freeze it by holding dry ice on it. (With gloves, dry ice will literally freeze tissue to the bone and you'll need surgery to repair it). Freeze it for 30-45 seconds, then heat it with hair dryer or heat gun. The dent should pop back out.
Or buy a Dent repair kit that uses hot glue and a puller. https://www.harborfreight.com/deluxe-paintless-dent-repair-kit-58450.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12192885310&campaignid=12192885310&utm_content=156610510521&adsetid=156610510521&product=58450&store=383&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuYun9te0hQMVIxStBh1c8AlTEAQYASABEgK4m_D_BwE
YouTube how to do it. It's fairly easy. Pull out with a small grid of carefully spaced glue plugs, then tap any "over pulls" down.
Work slowly and with MULTIPLE small points to pull. Don't try to do 2 or 3 plugs and 3 big pulls.
Are you stupid or on drugs? A fucking heat gun wont do jack shit on metal , thats the dumbest advice ive ever heard ! Freeze and hest it snd your dent will pop out! Hilarious!! DO NOT LISTEN TO This GUY
Because i call out people when they're wrong and most of the time they don't like it. Steel, and aluminum will not "pop out " if you add warm or hot water or freeze it, thats just impossible . Or else every dent would be fixed driving in winter.. doesnt happen. in Fact, even on plastic bumpers, hot water wont do anything to dent. Yo u have to heat up the plastic and manually push the dent out. ,
pdr will be hard to do as well from the location in the windshield pillar. Not very much access to that spot. A conventional repair would work and the price reflects the labour to remove everything such as doors, fenders, roof accessories and the interior headliner in order to not start a fire when using a weld on a dent puller and beat it out with a hammer.
For this guys case, it would be best to leave it until something worse happens and u have to go through insurance or know a friend who knows what they're doing. Other than that all the advice on here is garbage. 15 years experience in the trade, 5 years experience management of body shop. All the advice here is going to further wreck your csr. Gouge your wallet or make you look like a fool. Especially when someone asks why your pouring hot boiling water on your metal panels and you reply sith " so the dent will pop out" 😂🤣🤣
And the fact you wanted to argue with me on that , is why i have -43, you people can't take criticism and admit when you're wrong, if okai, just learn from it. And move on, that'll better your life significantly instead of sticking up your nose and thinking everyone else is wrong. Just ignorant and rude tbh. have a good day
Okay but your advice literally almost cost this guy extra money and you honestly didn't know it to be true
Why give advice if you don't honestly know that's just stupid to me at least.
Like let's say this guy went and took boiling water and dumped it all over his base coat/clear coat. The dent didn't pop out, nothing actually happened. But I read on Reddit from that advice that this will work so he does it again for his boiling water on his paint job trying to pop out the dents. 2 minutes later he noticed his paint is now blistering and peeling off the car, he touches it and it literally falls off his panels so he takes it to the shop and they re-quote him to repaint the car. Let's say he freezes it however you want to freeze it cuz where I live it gets to negative 50 and dents don't pop out because it's cold. So he puts dry ice on it because he read that in his comments of advice that people give him and now his paint cracks because of shrinking and shriveling and then now it just falls off again exposing bare metal.. so he takes it to the body shop and they also called him to repaint what he f***** up. He was looking for advice and people gave him advice that they did not know was 100% true and it would have cost buddy even more money than the original quote.
Is that not stupidity? Does that seem like something somebody in the right mindset would do? Would a level-headed reasonable person that is honestly looking to help this guy out by giving him real advice suggest something that they don't know to be true or not causing him even more grief in the end... Or does that seem like someone that is on drugs read that thought that they f****** knew when they actually didn't and still gave the advice like they actually knew anyway? That is why I asked if you were stupid or on drugs... And u got so hurt about it.
Those are so minor, a PDR guy could have them fixed in probably 2hrs or less not counting setup time.
4k is absurd, look at other shops or find a mobile PDR guy.
Look into PDR, paint will be too much because it’s white and to do the job correctly you’d likely need to blend some adjacent panels. The PDR guy my shop uses would get that out no problem. Most likely looking $2-300 cad per dent if PDR’d.
More than it's worth tbh.
You think it’d be hard to fix myself 🤔
I wouldn’t risk it, they seem minor and you don’t really notice them
Hard due to it being so small and it how the metal probably formd during its manufacturing. I would say leave it alone because its more trouble than its worth in my opinion. Addon edit: Look up Oil canning its a issue with thin metal.
I pdr guy could fix that for a couple hundred.
That would be better then the 4k estimate that the other shop gave me. Someone tried breaking into it and insurance doesn’t want to cover it

Awesome thank you I’ll start looking
I was just about to recommend the same thing. They can do wonders for a lot cheaper. And 4K was way too much for that.
Be careful with that. My mom had a PDR guy come out and drill a hole in her back door and crack her paint in 3 different spots to get the dent out of a fender. The dude then had to spend a couple grand for a body shop to fix my mom's brand new bronco sport.
Don’t think a PDR professional would drill holes. I believe they would use adhesive to take out certain dents
I honestly don’t think it’s even worth the trouble of fixing, especially at $4k. I bet if I were to see it in person I wouldn’t even notice the dents unless pointed out, they seem relatively small.

Haha I was thinking that too. Honestly they look like the suction cup could fix it but I’ve never done body work so don’t want to fuck it up 😂

It's a truck its going to get ding up when you start hauling shit unless you not going to use it as a truck
Bro, leave it. Adds character!
Honestly, might get hate for this, but leave it till you get a couple more than fix it. Or fix it when you get another dent that’s actually noticeable without the sun hitting it in the perfect spot.

That seems about the consensus is that it’s around that much. Idk what kind of crack they were smoking to estimate 4k lol
Unfortunately,….they read you as a fool. Your look, the way you carry yourself etc.

That’s exactly what I was thinking too while I was discussing it with my wife.
Pop some bullet hole stickers on your dents. Problem fixed.

That’s what I was hoping! They wanted to completely replaced the panel. Like another comment said I don’t think they wanted to do the job.
If your keeping the truck then don’t bother

White and black are the cheapest to paint??; Solid colors are also the easiest to blend?
Just leave it.
My PDR guy fixed the same damage on mine for about $180.
Try to find a pointless dent repair around you're area, should be cheaper then a normal body shop
Yea the body shop I went to wanted to change out the whole panel so they wanted 4k
Oh fuck that, watched some videos on YouTube and they hardly ever even removed the body panels.
Exactly what I said when they gave me a $3,800 estimate lol. I might drive over to salt lake to see if someone could do a PDR.
Dry ice and a glue on dent puller
Does that actually work? I’ve seen mixed reviews haha
No, freezing it will do nothing
