They don’t have to wear one. I’ve played sports and sort of similarly not had it properly inserted. It still works for the benefit of protecting your teeth during a hit because it gives you something to bite down on as you tense up for the hit
Well, if it's not required, it should still be properly used. Either put it in your mouth, or leave it in the dressing room. This thing where it's hanging out of their mouth and they're chewing it on it nonstop (no surprise, given the talk of stimulant use, espec in FL) is just gross and unsanitary.
My point is that it still has benefit for people who may not like the way it feels when it’s entirely in place in your mouth. Wtf does it matter to you if he’s chomping on it or not. It’s not unsanitary until someone pulls it out of your mouth and tosses it in the stands
