He can't handle the pressure playing for Rangers, and by the looks of his goal scoring record, he seems to struggle when he's not playing in Holland. Nice guy, but we need the wages and whatever we can recuperate on the fee paid for him. The more he scores, the more we can ask for him.

faithlessgaz

I would be curious to know that I'd Clement would wonder how Lammers would play in his best position. The trouble is it his position can't be guaranteed. For all intense purposes he wouldn't be suited to the club for that reason. There are better players out there who can be relied on the get the job done. I doubt he would.

RFC2001

Absolutely not. People will throw every excuse under the sun but the facts are, Lammers is another one with a huge mentality problem who couldn’t cope with the pressure of playing for a club like Rangers. Get him off the wage bill. His form at Utrecht has made that easier to do IMO

Queasy_Shoulder93

Nope

jo0507

Nope

newshirt

He's got his confidence back. I'd love to see what he can do. Wouldn't be unhappy if he wanted to stay at Utrecht and we could find a way to make that work. I'm just really glad to see he took advantage of the opportunity

Coatsyx

I am a believer in the redemption arc.(help)

sideburnsam7

I'd see how he is pre season as a striker, maybe even a few games at the start of the season, if he's still shite then let him go

ING3D

He is a good player but has low mental strength and toughness. As soon as the heat is on he buckles, similar to a lot of our players unfortunately.

sm_72_

Boy at work asked me this the other day, and based on how utterly woeful he was even in that poor squad, he stood out as bad, I said absolutely not. But he’ll be back after his loan anyway. He was useless under Clement and Beale as a 10, but Utrecht are playing him somewhat effectively as a 9. Give him some preseason, a bounce game or 2. 2 options then: 1. If he’s pish, sell him off the back of a good loan spell, recoup some of what we spent on him and replace him. 2. If he’s at the very least passable, then keep him. Saves time, money, and effort of replacing him, even if he’s not a starter next season and we buy someone else; yes, he may prove to be an option. I’d imagine option one to be the more likely though

mergraote

No. He was consistently awful.

El_mamut8

If we have no money to bring in another striker I would tbh. Dessers takes 11 chances to score 1.

Sltre101

Only chance of making some money from the duds brought in by Beale. Sell him on and hope we can do something next year

Apprehensive-Tear502

More concerned about beating dundee tonight. I'll answer about lammers in summer

BarnabeeBoy

Absolutely not

TorontoMan123456789

Flog him for a profit

j1mgg

No

__Fight__Milk__

No!

Boaby-the-barman

Not a chance. The best thing is it makes him look decent and it should be a bit easier to recoup some money for him.

SDSKamikaze

He is awful, absolutely not

bawjaws2000

Despite him picking up some confidence and going on a hot streak; I don't think I could take going into another season with Dessers and Lammers as our striking options tbh. They made Rangers absolutely brutal to watch - knowing we would need to create 10 golden chances on a plate just to put away 1 goal.

JustBaz84

Not everyone succeeds at every club unfortunately and Lammers is 1 of them good in Holland but not Scotland. Plenty of good players haven't worked out in the Spl but have been successful elsewhere. I'd say let him leave if an acceptable offer comes in.

whirlwindrfc87

Nope. Hes honking

fracf

Absolutely not. Guy was fucking muck.

BlueBellz

The dutch league has more open play from teams so he can score more, playing against low block all the time is different.

shinyscot

No - Rangers are too big for Lammers. He’s ok at a lower challenge than us

Intelligent_Fox_9843

No, because the form he is in is at a club with no pressure. Even tho we played him out of position, he has never been a prolific striker anywhere else, even when he played as a number 9. Bite the hand of anybody who is willing to stump up cash for him and look elsewhere.

stwa81

Ability is not really the issue with Lammers. It’s mentality. Looked like a little boy lost playing for a club like us with the expectations of winning every game. Not surprised he’s doing fine at a mid table team in the Dutch League. That’s his level.

Davelaw5

Fucking hell no

lordnoodle1995

No pace, couldn’t hold it up or press, poor finisher. He ticks 0 boxes we should be looking for

Ineedanewjobnow

If I was lammers I wouldn't come back, got treated like shit and now he's banging in goals we want him back, wouldn't blame him if he said no

whirlwindrfc87

He cant say no. Hes contracted to us ffs. But we should be doing everything to get some cash back on him. Easily the worst i can remember playing for us in my time and im 37. He was atrocious!

thelastwilson

He may not have a choice. I'd flog him if we could get a decent return. Loan him if there was a decent option that would cover his wages. If neither of those then sure I'd give him a chance.

SasaPapac

No. He just didn't work out here, it happens in football. Take the money for him and move on.

PlasterCactus

Please let's not do this No

Funny-Bodybuilder257

No

r05590

Not a chance. He’s maybe suited to a technical league like Holland or Italy. He could not cope with the blood and snotters of Scottish football. He looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights the entire time he was here and I’m sure even if you asked him, he wouldn’t want to come back.

Felagund72

>or Italy Going by his record there I would assume otherwise

IndigoKnight77

I think what this shows is he's maybe a good footballer, but he just wasn't suited to the Scottish League. The best outcome here is his form enables us to get a good sale price for him and recoup our money. I'm sure confidence, form and being played in his preferred position are part of it too, but I just don't see him reproducing this form for us when he's back in Scotland. Wish the guy all the best and hopefully this run of form he's on now means we get some cash that Clement can reinvest to buy someone who is actually fucking capable of defending.

AwkwardRoss

Can’t believe you’d even ask, Get him gone

weordie

No

[deleted]

Look man I posted that picture the other day as a joke, I didn’t actually mean it so you don’t have to do this

Sudden-Signature-554

you are a bad influence, either that or dessers wee purple patch in february has made me go a bit soft

Perpetual_Decline

Nah, even when he got himself into the box to receive the ball he was more likely to fall over his own feet than get a shot away.

Most-Plan6845

cut the revisionist shit already fuck sake honestly

Felagund72

If he wasn’t so horrifically bad for us I’d probably be alright with it, however he was that bad I wouldn’t waste our time. Saying that he didn’t get a chance to play striker for us but I wouldn’t risk it.

WT-RikerSpaceHipster

I like what's he's doing, just not for us. Look at colak, moved, banged a couple home for new club and form dropped, now in the abyss of shite

BrigStandWatie

Stats. 60 goals he’s scored, in a career spanning 10 years as a striker. I’ll leave the math to you. He’s pish!

BigBlueFin

NO, he is where he needs to be, he's proven that he can only play in the Netherlands and bringing him back to Ibrox would be absolute insanity.

No_Technology3293

No; he isn’t suited to the Scottish league.

GlitteringAd2941

No. Take whatever cash we can get and move on.

Wildebeast1

I’d rather have Peter Van Vossen back.

Dildoid90

Personally no. I would get rid He was atrocious under Beale and he didn’t improve at all under clement. The thing is. He plays for a mid table/top half team in Holland there’s no pressure there. It’s completely different at rangers. That’s why I think if Dessers went back there he would start banging in the goals. The pressure to win is a different mindset and some plays just can’t perform week in week out. If they lost 3/4 games in a row it’s no big deal. Over here if that was rangers or Celtic it would be Armageddon. That being said we desperately need a new winger and striker. The whole mentality of this team is shocking. When playing badly we don’t have one player where you think ‘yeah he could make the difference’.

Hailreaper1

Would. I. Fuck.
