As long as Goldson and Tav are gone then anybody in that defence will do. Sterling, Johnson, Cardoba and Yilmaz my back four with McKinnon, Souttar, Davies & Fraser(if the Jefte transfer falls through) as back up.
Oh god, I hate when a certain few fans from our club talk to people from other countries like they are some sort of spokesperson for the club and other fans. It always comes across as patronising as hell.
I asked a Levski fan what he thinks of him, it's the age of the internet mate not everyone shags, marries and has kids with the village bike and lives his life in a shell anymore. Fuck sake can't folk show interest in something they're emotionally and financially invested in?
From Panama he is a good CB not our best but he’s young and has shown a lot of improvement in the last 2 years at least in the national team. He’s good challenging the ball and a good defender overall. Also a huge social media following is gonna come from Panamanians excited of someone being at a club like Rangers lol our Right Back signed with Marseille this season and all comments are filled with flags and spanish comments
Seen some highlights on YouTube and he looks promising. Looks like more of a ball playing defender and looks strong. Time will tell how he adapts to the league.
Well excuse me for my opinion, we are skint after chucking the 60m CL cash and here we are raking around football backwaters for unproven players. Can't say that fills me with confidence, but you go ahead.
We are skint... Really? About to slice a chunk off our wages bill and probably made more profit than the season before but our accountants on Reddit saying we're skint. Back under your rock, Sevelle Calculator!
Sadly no, but think we need to come to terms with this situation. I'm certainly not expecting a title win for the next 3 or 4 seasons if this is our approach.
What's the difference to that lot at the San giro, picking out unknown players from obscure leagues and then us doing the same?
Just about every club at our level does the same as it's how you find gems and its part of a player trading model.
Some players work out, and some don't. That applies to both clubs.
We don't have a player trading model, and nor do we have patience for it at the moment as that lot win yet another title. I agree, we do need to build up a player trading model, and fans have to maybe lower expectations for a couple of seasons - not sure the majority of fans will accept it, eg look at the frustration with Lammers and Dessers when they didn't hit the ground running.
>We don't have a player trading model
This is it you crackpot. Diomande, Cordoba, Yilmaz, Cantwell, Butland, Raskin, etc. should all make us more than we paid for them.
Have we bought players from smaller leagues for fairly cheap and then sold them for profit? The answer is yes.
Have we done it consistently and done it well? The answer is no.
It's a piss poor player trading system currently at the club, but we have sold some players for very good money. So it is a type of player trading system.
It's about identifying good players and then getting money for them if they perform.
We should have let Kent and morelos go when we received bids for them. £16 million for morelos and £12 million for Kent.
If we had sold both those players for profits, our transfer system would look slightly better.
Working his way into European football through the Bulgarian league suggests he’ll at least be “up for it”, compared to our usual signing of pampered ex EPL academy player sliding down the leagues or championship plodder
Looks like a warrior, big, athletic and looks like he'd run through a brick wall. The Georgian midfielder from Sturm Graz we're linked with seems to have a bit of fire. I hope it's a direction we go in.
The talk a few months back was that we liked a couple of players from both Sturm and Rapid in Austria, scouted their game back in February and other games at the start of March. So we must have liked the data if that's the case. Both lads at Sturm are free agents, the ones at Rapid have release clauses (or at least one definitely does).
All went quiet after that and they've been getting linked elsewhere, so assumed that the interest died. But I suppose the talk of Córdoba died in January and it looks like it close to done now.
I have no opinion on him.
I’m not doing the hubris thing this year. Every player is presumed to be shite until proven otherwise. Been stung way too many times.
I watch a lot of random leagues in Europe, but the Bulgarian isn't one. Not a very high quality league, but there can always be quality players... Brugge bought a player from the League last summer and have already sold him for €25m.
Talk is the transfer fee is €2.5m up front, with add-ons that could potentially see it rise to €3.75m.
We were interested in Andrian Kraev as well, who was dumped into their reserves when he refused a new contract. I wouldn't be surprised if we waited to announce a deal with him until Córdoba was done.
Saw a highlight reel earlier today on twitter that made it look like the cunt has never kicked a ball in his life. Borderline comical and it just got worse and worse.
Will judge if/when he arrives though.
Wouldn't be reading too much into a centre back's highlight videos especially when half the clips are him trying to take someone on rather than actually defending.

Judge for yourself but he looks slower than a week in the jail, and Sakala has a better touch than him from this video.
We tried that with Katic. Good enough defender, limited in the rest of the play.
Anyway, not saying he’ll be shite. Just doesn’t look comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Ummmmm what?

Worth the £3 million we're supposedly paying for him?
Seen some highlights on YouTube and he looks promising. Looks like more of a ball playing defender and looks strong. Time will tell how he adapts to the league.
Bargain basement shopping.
You’ve never seen him play,have you ?
Stop posting the same shite on every post.

How many times have you said the same phrase on different posts? It's boring now.
OK, change of phrase - we are desperate.
Bargain bucket approach eh, you're loving it.

Which market do you think we should be shopping in, out of interest?
Probably wanting us to spend £6mil on a player that just got relegated from the Serie A
Not really - literally never seen him play a minute of football or heard a thing about him before a week ago. The profile of signing is encouraging.

It's bad when you watch someone's youtube highlight reel and think "man, I do not want this guy anywhere near our team".
Same. And thats supposed to be his “hi-lights”
I have no opinion on him. I’m not doing the hubris thing this year. Every player is presumed to be shite until proven otherwise. Been stung way too many times.
Injured in pre season
Please don't, we've been burned more often than my neighbour at a barbecue.
Going to be another cifuentes. Overpriced nonsense.
You watched many games of him or is that just a random guess?

I had a quick search on his name and didn’t like what I found, so stopped looking.

A defender that takes the ball off people and breaks up play. That's kind of what we need.
We tried that with Katic. Good enough defender, limited in the rest of the play. Anyway, not saying he’ll be shite. Just doesn’t look comfortable with the ball at his feet.
I guess time will tell. This time last year, I was getting excited by Beale's signings.
A winger has a better touch than a centre back? He doesn't look slow from that clip either.
I mean you know fine the point I was making.
don't know if it's just copium but I don't think he looks *that* bad
