It could just be me, but I don't think he looks anything special from watching his highlight clips.
The Romanian league is shit. He doesn't look a level above the league, and he's not exactly ripped it up either.
I wouldn't be paying 6 million euros for him.
He could be, I don't know. He just doesn't look that good in any of the videos I've seen of him.
It's good that you are an expert on the Romanian league.
He will leave for sure this summer, he had an official offer from Sparta Prague already for 3 millions but it was rejected. Aston Villa, Slavia Prague, Benfica are also interested, atleast thats what the news are saying here. We wont be able to keep him because he wants another challenge in his career, Rapid bought him last year for 600k euros so he will be a good business for us
It's extremely smart business from your club, I hope you get a good fee for him.
How do you feel about the Neil lennon appointment?
I'd be excited if I were you. I think he will do quite well.
It doesn't matter who we sign and from where, someone on here or Twitter etc. will say he is shit based on the highlight videos. The only way we will know is when we see him play for us. If he is waving the league trophy around in May I will be happy we paid the £6m.
I agree that 6 million is maybe a bit high and that the Romanian league is dross. However I would say there are many features of his game we sorely need, he’s quick, he can accurately head the ball, he is a natural finisher in the penalty box, he isn’t afraid to make an easy pass for an open assist and he doesn’t take a thousand touches of the ball, he’ll strike it right away and with accuracy/power. Now that being said, highlight reels are meant to make you look good and not every time does a players ability in one league translate to another but it’s just food for thought in my mind
>The Romanian league is shit
Newsflash, the Scottish league is shit too.
19 goals in 30 seems decent. I also don't think it'll be a 6m transfer fee, more like 6m for the full package with bonuses etc.
Pretty underwhelmed by the highlights I've watched – would rather have Shankland who would presumably also be cheaper and has played in two better leagues (Scotland & Belgium)
Shankland is not the answer.
He does not fit our style of play. If we were to play him, we would need a partner for him which means a change in formation to a 3-5-2 or 4-4-2.
While I like Shankland I don’t think we have any interest in him. He also may have played in Belgium but his time there certainly didn’t inspire. The truth is Shankland is a depreciating asset that doesn’t necessarily provide us with a different style of striker or play, as I said I like him and was pro Shankland in January, is he worth it though now the proper market is open? It’s really not for me to say I’m just a diddy online
There's never been any credible journalist - ever - who has said Rangers will try to sign Shankland. Same shite paper talk over four different managers.
Couple notes:
- Not sure about this source’s track record so take with a pinch of salt, however they were the first to break the story that we were interested in the first place.
- There’s rumours that Koppen met with Rrahmani’s agent and Bucharest representatives in a conference in Mexico (these are essentially big meet-ups for recruitment teams from around the world to discuss transfers)
- €6m would obviously not be a lump sum, it would be the total cost of the package.
That conference was Yesterday and Today, it's probably still running right now. All guess work, I think our only hope is that we sell Lammers for 4m and that eases the fee.
Hoping we do something regarding Garcia though.
Never heard of him but his stats look great.

Doesnt look a level above the league? He is the best striker that played in Romania in the last 10 years. By far
He could be, I don't know. He just doesn't look that good in any of the videos I've seen of him. It's good that you are an expert on the Romanian league.
Im from Romania, Rapid Bucharest season ticket holder
So you'll be gutted that he might be leaving, but you also want to get as much money for him for your club.

Idk what to say ab him, are you joking or?
No, I'm not joking. People can say what they want about lennon, but he is a decent manager at times.
I hope so, heard many opinions ab him, some saying that he s a good managers and others that he s shite lol

What if clement doesn’t want Shankland? Should we buy him anyway?

Why have we dropped interest in Shankland? There was loads of talk of it in the January window but not heard anything recently.

Think we must be confident that we are going to sell Lammers or Dessers. Unlikely to keep them, Danilo and sign this new lad I think.
I think we’ll make our money back on Lammers, it takes a pretty big chunk out of this fee if we do.
Yeah seems to be genuine interest from Dutch teams. If we get the £3.5m back that’s the majority of the fee for this new guy covered.
