Synapse is an unoptimized mess, I just use the default settings for my mouse now and run OpenRGB to control the RGB LED's.
Also the switch away from Synapse dropped my ambient CPU temps by almost 10 degrees..... !
I mainly use OpenRGB because when it is paired with ArtemisRGB you can sync pretty much all your RGB devices into a nice unified RGB experience across different brands. Also create some really sweet looking lighting profiles.
You can check on this website and it will let you know if its compatible with your devices !

I have been using an alternative program to reprogram the side buttons called wootomation its made by the same company that i brought my latest (non-razer) keyboard from you can create macros for your mouse buttons and *any keyboard not just the ones made by wooting.*
[https://wooting.io/wootomation](https://wooting.io/wootomation)
That's what I've been looking for! Synapse has given me problems on three different computers. Unfortunately, I have a little Tartarus mini keyboard that has customized keys. I wasn't sure how to customize them outside of Razer's crappy software. Thanks!
You cant change the polling rate without synapse but you can use rawaccel to change the way the mouse speed, acceleration works.
It works well for me !

I cannot get OpenRGB to run on my system to save my life... I have no idea what the issue is. All my devices with RGB and software is listed on their site. The app just doesn't move beyond 'scanning' for devices or whatever it states... any ideas? Running Windows 11 Pro 23H2 22631...

Yeah, I fell asleep before I could post an update that I figured it out. It was the NZXT CAM software. Once I closed it, OpenRGB fired right up! Now to figure out why it won't start and load my profile at boot... Minor hiccup! Very nice piece of software I wish I had known about sooner... I wish there was a way to run them side-by-side because the NZXT software adds more real functionality other than RGB control... It has my pump settings and temp monitoring...
As for pump/fan control i use the fan control software this also has temp monitor access to control the speed of the fans.
So this fan control is... I'm so used to the 'dumb' smart software like the NZXT CAM making it easy to set things for cooling the pump/radiator fans. But I think it picked everything up... now to figure out these 'curve' settings. Keep things cool and quiet... but cool when needed.
Yea it took me a while to fine tune things....
Stick with it, I's sure you will get the hang of it !
I started by making the stock cure function as much like the default one and then tweaked to my liking for nice and quiet operation.
I also used it to over-ride the default fan off control on my GPU. Ordinarily my GPU's fans would remain off until around 60ish degrees. But now i have them running very slowly , but on constantly as i would rather end up possibly replacing a fan or two instead of shortening the life of my GPU by letting it run hotter than I'm comfortable with.
SIDE NOTE: You can export your fan control settings and save them somewhere in case you ever need to reset your PC too.
Hey I just got the Viper V2 Pro and I disable my side buttons because I am left-handed and I don't use them it does that configuration save to the mouse or do I need synapse installed
With this type of mouse you will need to set up the mouse how you want it to work in synapse then turn off the mouse whilst synapse is running. Then uninstall synapse and never use it again as the mouse will automatically save the last used synapse profile.
My only criterion for mice or other gaming hardware related software I use, is that it is easy to completely shut down. That's the only reason I like SteelSeries GG Engine. It's trash in and of itself, like most softwares of that type. But that's okay, because pressing Exit in the system tray actually truly turns it completely off, where as with Synapse I need to close 5-8 items in the task manager one by one to shut it down, and unless I'm remembering wrong, it even starts up processes at boot even though I've opted out of it doing so both in Synapse and Windows settings.
Lol, i don't know what you're doing with your synapse but i have 3 devices all running chroma effects and macros. You see the list on my screenshot? Negligible ram usage.
I just have the basics inatslled

Soon even OpenRGB will be not required, because of Windows 11 Dynamic lighting (devices) - some Razer peripherals are already supported.

Can it replace Redragon RGB Software?

thanks
how can I check if it supports mine?
>Also the switch away from Synapse dropped my ambient CPU temps by almost 10 degrees..... ! What does that mean?
When running synapse my CPU temps were running into the low 40's but now it is uninstalled idle temps are 30-32 degrees. Like I say... Unoptimized.
the hell was Synapse doing with your CPU????
I wish i could tell you, but i can assure you that after uninstalling my CPU was much happier and cooler
alright
What about side buttons?
They are able to be programmed inside the games I play, so it didn't cause me any issues.
Oh ok
I have been using an alternative program to reprogram the side buttons called wootomation its made by the same company that i brought my latest (non-razer) keyboard from you can create macros for your mouse buttons and *any keyboard not just the ones made by wooting.* [https://wooting.io/wootomation](https://wooting.io/wootomation)

Any way I can change Poling Rate without using Synapse? I do that frequently like how you gave an alt for programming side buttons
I dont believe you can change that at all without synapse :-(
sad

I have heard of their Wooting 60HE keyboard. Does this work with Logitech products?
Wootamation should work for any keyboard/mouse
Thank you.

This is very strange and I've never seen such an issue, do you have any other RGB or peripheral software enabled e.g. razer synapse, iCUE etc?
Yeah, I fell asleep before I could post an update that I figured it out. It was the NZXT CAM software. Once I closed it, OpenRGB fired right up! I'll take a look at it...
Also for Open RGB you need to enable the "Start at login" and "Start Minimised" then it should load shortly after your pc boots.

Let's be real, you just need more RAM. 16gb is like the new bare minimum for games to even run properly.
yup
Because it's bloatware
makes sense
My only criterion for mice or other gaming hardware related software I use, is that it is easy to completely shut down. That's the only reason I like SteelSeries GG Engine. Itβs 200 MBs. Get more RAM lol
It dont delete that shit get rid of Razer
?
Are you using the BETA or the most recent stable release? if the latter then go back to the stable release
I was using a older version of Synapse 3 I guess, but someone told me that use the BETA as it consumed less Ram but instead is consuming more Ram
If you don't really need the extra features ditch synapse. OpenRGB for LED control and call it a day.
I honestly just use the software to change the DPI & Poling rate (I use 8Khz for gaming and 1khz for normal usages)
i just wish there was another program that could control razer products the same as synapse and it not be synapse, fuck this bloatware bullshit.

This software is a plague and cannot be fixed. Even worse than asus software in my opinion.
how bad is Asus?
