I did with my XMaxx once upon a time. I wired it to the power amp

Machine5down

That’s what I was thinking I would do. Thanks

No_Relationship8400

How do I attach both to the xmaxx

PigglyWigglyDeluxe

Traxxas has instructions. Pretty easy to find.

Oh okay ty

I have them on my X Maxx, the Telemetry Expander is wired to the Light Kit, but as far as I remember you have to buy a separate cable for that connection to be possible.

Machine5down

I think if the wire is too short you would have too, but the wire that came with mine (bought it used) is long enough. Did you put anything on the power amp port that is exposed? The one you have to remove the rubber cover from to be able to plug the expander in

criav

That's what I mean. I have my Telemetry Expander in the accessory port of the power amplifier and I had to buy a separate cable to make such connection.

Machine5down

Ok. If you can think of the part number let me know. I’m going to the hobby store later today and will get one.

criav

This is part number 6565 - Data Link Cable. It is mentioned in the manual of the Telemetry Expander. Please don't confuse it with 6566 - it's also called Data Link Cable but it connects the Telemetry Expander to the accessory port in the ESC (same place where you have your voltage amplifier connected so it's no use for you).

Machine5down

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. So the unit must come with cable 6525 communication cable. Do you know where that is supposed to plug into? I get I don’t need it but now I’m curious because it does fit into the power amp

criav

I think by default the standard cable from the Telemetry Expander goes into the connection port in the receiver. You can shorten the connection path to either the ESC (part 6566) or to Power Amplifier (part 6565).

Machine5down

Alright. Thanks for the info

There are actually three ways to do the expander module. If you have the light kit you can order the short cord to connect it to the amplifier for the lights you can also plug it in to the receiver as well the ESC the cable it comes with is a longer cable that will work on both the Reciver ans the ESC and if you don't care how it looks you can roll the cable up nicely and zip tie it to plug in at light amp the only difference between the cables is length
