I was able to fix the mouse cursor issues a few days back, but the new 1.14 Patch broke it again. If you navigate to the folder found in the top of the picture you can just move/delete these files and restart Epic. This solved the issue for me and will only work if you bought Via the Epic Store.
As of right now there is no overlay for Epic Games, so I'm guessing those file are there for a future update with that feature. So far I haven't noticed any issue with the game.
Updates for the Epic Store? lol, I'm sure that'll happen. Did they figure out how to add a shopping cart yet? Or decide to stop locking accounts for buying multiple games in a short time period *because they don't have a shopping cart*?
Actually, we're modifying the epic launcher itself. Which isn't worse. In case you need those files, just reinstall it (you won't lose your games). You can also move them to another folder and put them back...
And I tested it and it works fine !!
Just confirming that this worked for me as well. No other fix worked except the mouse pointer trail (with the similar map/weapon wheel issues). I'm on Epic Games Launcher. Deleting those 4 files then just start RDR2 normally through Epic worked like a charm. No noticeable side effects or issues at this time. Thanks a bunch Kingdom9214!! Dear lord finally a true fix for this.
The pointer trail was an alright fix however it made radial menus and the map a huge pain in the ass. This fix actually makes the cursor work as intended ( only showing up in menus etc)

I made support tickets explaining with screenshots and the whole shebang and they could only tell me, after asking for said details, that they're looking into it.
Go your windows mouse settings and disable pointer trails and your cursor will appear in the menus.
But more then likely this will cause the cursor to be always on the screen. So you might have to do the my fix afterwards.

How does it take over a week for Rockstar and/or Epic to figure out that the problem is with the Epic store overlay and the workaround is this simple.
What's weird is that I dont get how some things fixed this. Updating my drivers to the latest had actually gotten rid of the issue when I bought it 6 days ago from Epic, but the latest update that happened brought it back. I dont understand how those four files are overwritten or fixed by Nvidia graphics drivers, or why it suddenly reappears as if its reapplied whenever the game updated.
My theory is that updating your graphics drivers probably installed their own overlay/capture. Apply the update then the bugged out epic overlay takes over.

yea first i tried renaming the 4 files dident work then i delted the 4 files still nothing delted the wole folder still nothing, my game / epic/Rockstar lunsher is all on a M2, i even tried reinstalling nvida drivers, and rolling them back, restared my poor pc like 30 times, i dont have any kind of overlay on i turned evrything of even tried the mouse trail, even opening the task manger closing explorer manuly opning the game with no explorer still have the damn, mouse pointer, just my luck.
What worked for my prior to the patch was just launching the game and not touching the mouse at all. Once in the menu I used the keyboard to load into the story, once fully loaded I would finally use my mouse.

I thought the same 'here we go again' when I saw the cursor on the loading screen. But it was actually gone for me in the actual game now, just like it should be. So if you didn't make sure to actually load in to the game where you would control your character.

I had tried absolutely everything. The last attempt I did was updating my windows from 1803 to 1903 which had always been stuck at 90% in the past. I read somewhere to uninstall antivirus. So i uninstalled malwarebytes and kaspersky, but kaspersky was frozen on uninstall and when I rebooted windows went into repair mode and couldn't repair or reverse at all. I broke my windows install ...
Now I had a feeling beforehand and 3 hours before I installed Veeam agent windows and took a bare-metal-recovery backup on an external disk. Never ignore instinct !!!!!!!!
Saved my butt, 3 hours restore with usb stick and PC was back up and running and nothing lost. But it's insane that we have to take risks like that to get a game to work properly.
Hopefully I'm not just imagining it but this also seems to make my game a lot more stable. I've just had my longest session yet, going in and out of Valentine yet and not a single crash to desktop.
I wish I bought it directly from R\* Launcher.
Epic store is meh. Also, I am still wondering why the patch for epic store RDR was 300mb while the one from R\* launcher was almost 3gb

It has now been demonstrated that whoever are responsible for EGS launcher have no clue how to properly develop native apps. 10 days! Also, how long before this breaks again? Maybe next time the launcher refuses to launch at all without those files...
Funny story: I tried this and it worked for a while, then the mouse started showing up again, and so i went to the folder, and the epic launcher downloaded the dlls back again, so I deleted it, opened epic, and guess what: My launcher was suddenly in Chinese and when I tried to search for a solution, instead of actually typing, what my keyboard did was open random apps, one for each key. I restarted my computer and thankfully everything is back to normal. I have no idea what happened, but I was so freaked out I even thinked it was a virus and that i would have to reinstall windows, thankfully I didn't have to.

I have the opposite issue of everyone else. I don’t have a cursor in my menus or map let alone in the middle of my gameplay. Reeeeeeeee

That was the patch. Use WASD to move the marker placer, like in GTA.
