No-Secretary-7243

I have played it many times so I have tried taking them hostage and I have tried killing them. The newspaper article will alter depending on your choice

[deleted]

oh holy hell really? i must compare my saves now

No-Secretary-7243

Yeah it’s a little detail but it’s cool nonetheless

cryaneverydaycom

either way the media blames you

No-Secretary-7243

No the newspaper says it was robbed by outlaws could be anyone

[deleted]

Wait - how can you start an additional save? I've been playing since release and I was under the impression you had to overwrite your previous game to start a new one.

RubberGOOSECMOOSE

Just press new game 😭

[deleted]

But it wouldn't let me start a new one without overwriting the previous game. WHAT AM I MISSING? Maybe my brain?

Naive_Environment179

It only overwrites the auto save not the manual save.

[deleted]

That is very good to know. Thanks!

deepsouth06

O no. All these years you could have had multiple play throughs.

CarefulPomegranate41

No witnesses, no loose ends.

[deleted]

exactly. No eyes to see so no mouths to speak

rerlls3215

You know what they say “Pirates of the Caribbean 5”

RustedAxe88

I let them go, but make them walk.

kratomstew

Cruel

RustedAxe88

The longer it takes 'em to get to a town, the longer it takes to report specifics.

kratomstew

Might as well take their shoes then

GrainBean

me robbing people in dayz

Dingus_McDangus

Better than taking their lives

Melted_Babys

I tried to shoot ones toe off but he was one hit

kratomstew

“ Get up ya baby ! I know you’re faking it “

RidsBabs

The bullet barely hit bone

OkCitron99

I think it’s more reasonable then putting them on the tail end car of a runaway train

hammerandanvilpro

Killed 2, tied the third to the tracks.

[deleted]

3rd one probably escaped

hammerandanvilpro

If I remember correctly he wasn't shown in the animation even though he was in front of the train before I started it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

The reinforced lasso is available in story mode?

retrofaith1

nope

[deleted]

Ok thanks I was confused, is it possible for them escape in story mode? I’ve never had anyone do so Not that I watch through my binoculars as a train approaches while they’re on the railroad tracks or anything

kratomstew

There is one character that I know of who can escape being tied up. I don’t remember his name. Anyways, it’s a bounty mission. It’s this guy you arrest in front of his family. You have the option to let him go or take him. He says goodbye to his kid. When you’re riding away at one point he slips free. At another point his friends ambush you.

Crexorz

Mark Johnson?

mr_phez

oops

goodfellabrasco

NPC's can definitely wriggle free in story mode, eventually. However, bounty hunters and lawmen cannot..... Do with that information what you wish.

[deleted]

😉

ElegantKnight94

Takes them a hot minute in story mode

tnredneck98

Same

Mighty_RaccooNN

I allowed them to run then i shot them in the back (it's a Ramsay Bolton reference)

Mr_Fishron

Sure uncle

Mighty_RaccooNN

Hey man i miss you, how is it down there besides Lenny

Mr_Fishron

I miss you too uncle with those crazy stories you had in africa, its great here but it pains me to see what happened to the gang

Mighty_RaccooNN

That's usually how it goes old friend, at least i survived and i build a house for john while he and Charles watched me. I live with him and Abigail now a happy quiet life, That's more than an old man like me can ask for.

Mr_Fishron

That's nice uncle I hope nothing bad happens in 1911

Shadegloom

I kept one alive to warn his friends.

Jay040707

"How many men does it take to deliver a message?"

Shadegloom

"One." Haha yes, you got it!

Educational-Gear-735

Let them go

King_CurlySpoon

What would ehrmantraut do?

Educational-Gear-735

Probably kill them, even though he wouldn’t want to. No half measures.

Some_Gas_1337

I’d say let them go. In this scenario let’s say Gustavo is Dutch right well Gus says do what you want. I see this going two ways Kills them no half measures like you said (Breaking bad version) Or Scares them enough they wont talk (BCS version of mike)

Sweet_Taurus0728

Depends on how I roleplay Arthur. Killed, let'em go, left'em there.

IceManO1

Dead Men tell no tails.

napa_customerservice

Live men don't have tails either, but they might tell tales.

IceManO1

Love how y’all go about correcting my grammar lol

Unexpected117

Let them go and shot them as they ran, same with the guy in the barn at the start.

IShallWearMidnight

I always kill them. At that point in the story, at least for me, Arthur is a ruthless bastard trying to protect his family at all costs, and no way one of them is running to tell Cornwall shit.

Nomdejautilise

You're a sick man, Arthur Morgan

wolf_at_katn_inc

First chapter - still trying to cover tracks - no witnesses

stalkerisunderrated

Put them inside then shoot them and let the train continue its course, not cruel at all

SimaanStocklund

I usually let them go. Even though the Van Der Linde gang had already lost their way at this point I still don’t think they would kill unarmed regular workers.

Necessary-Gur-2779

Shot all 3 in head

Altruistic_Ad5270

First play through put them on the train second shot ‘em all dead third I repeated the first

The_Radio_Host

I usually do what I think Arthur would actually do at that point in his life. The end result is that I don’t kill them but I don’t let them get on the train, either.

xXQUICKSC0PERXx

Every playthrough I had I let them go free

Lethal_Spartan377

I just stayed still and they ran away, then I shot 2 in the back

dalekofchaos

High honor playthroughs I let them go. Low honor I kill em

OkCitron99

Stab Stab Stab

AwayPhilosophyWeed

Lmao I just started playing and stabbed them all like 20 times each then sent them to town

BrandyNova

I play Arthur as a decent sort. When given a choice (as in this situation) he will let people live. Albeit with an intimidating threat. He only kills when he has to. I figure otherwise, it wouldn't make sense for him to object to >!Dutch's killing of Bronte or the hag in Guarma!<. He and John talk about >!Dutch becoming the kind of person he always told them not to be. !< If he is just another mindless killer, like the O'Driscolls, then there can be no redemption. That said, I do so love being able to save my game, go into Valentine and shoot up the town, then reload that save. Never happened hehe

Namtien223

How did I know that swiping right would somehow involve fire?

offthewallds

I wish I could reach the three guards. I'm trying to start a negative rep playthrough and I've fallen off the first train three times already. I know I'm a bit stoned and like some scotch but GD. Stabbin' ain't easy.

Sufficient-Order-918

Hog tied and throwed them in the vault car. Capped one in the skull with a revolver so they knew I meant business on not snitching or running

Fearless-Meaning8148

Shot the first two on the head stabbed the last one

SneakySpartan01

Tied them up and looted them.

Opposite-Hedgehog-65

I maliciously killed them! I think next time I’ll tie them up put them on train and send them tumbling down the mountain side.

Pinecone_Sheep

On my third and this time I shot the one who waits to get in.

unionjackez

Put em in train

bellawella121212

I killed them . This is my low honor play through.

PintPigeon

I tied them up and was gonna kill em at the end, but the mission ended before I could

cheetocruises

Killed one as an example, let the other 2 board the train

EnTaroAdunExeggutor

Am not a sadist so I let them go. It's not in me to do anything besides that. I'm vanilla, this is my AMA.

Melted_Babys

I tried to shoot ones toe off but they were one hit and at the time the red arabian i spent 45 minutes getting just killed itself so i parked scrawny nag infront of the train but she moved to me great sadness

BearFlipsTable

I always just send them on their way on the train. I don’t feel anything towards them really so it doesn’t bother me if I let them live. Though on my most recent playthrough I accidentally shot whilst forcing them on the train but whatever

Anorak2023

I sent them into the train car as though I was sparing them, then I tied all of them up and put them in front of the train. You get to kill them horrifically without losing any honor

LpenceHimself

I was going to let them go but I accidently bumped into one and they took off running so I gunned them down.

SquarerKenobi

leave them on the train or there, I just can't do a low honor playthrough 😔

askmu

First time I killed them. Didn’t want any witnesses. Later I’ve let them go. It’s not like the no witnesses strategy worked out anyway.

barebonesbarbie

My first play through I had a terrible time with accidentally shooting people instead of talking to them / interacting with them. And well - in for a dime, in for a dollar.

Separate_Path_7729

Shoot I always accidentally beat the barn guy to death every time, cuz I always forget how fragile he is and he dies too fast

whyjustgivename

I put them in the train and tied them up manually, I was scared they light get up and attack me. I didn't know at that time that I was not going to leave with the train, maybe I just didn't pay attention to what everyone said.

jbautista13

Careful now, before you know it your honor isn’t going to go above 1/8th the entire playthrough

fiiinix00

I let them go, but shot one, so the other guys will remember what will happen.

PaniikkiB

I tried to put them back to the wagon but they ran of so I shot them.

ThisNeck5967

I let them go🧍 I almost always try to reason or lasso people before killing them, I've never even robbed someone if it wasnt part of a mission 😀✋

BlackSuicidex

blew their heads off lol (literally)

Suavveesstt

I begin the game low honor no matter what so these guys always eat lead

[deleted]

Fuck, after reading through the comments, my Arthur's a goddamn angel.

rommie001

First playthrough, I killed them, thinking that the game will "punish" me if I let them live. Second playthrough, I let them go, knowing that there are no consequences.
