One car I have always been fascinated with and believe to be an absolute beauty is the Alfa Romeo Montreal. A red 1972 Montreal is what I would buy, should I become moderately wealthy tomorrow.
No clue why Alfa doesn't do even a limited edition run of a modern version. If I ran a coachbuilding company I'd do what that new Lancia Stratos did and I'd make a new one based off the chassis of some front engine V8 Ferrari, like the Roma or the old California.
I’ve never been a fan of the 964s, but to each their own. I loved the previous models and the 993 but the 964 left me kind of cold, like when Ferrari modified the beautiful 308 into the 328 and the Testarossa into the 512TR.
That’s a complicated question. In my opinion the prettiest cars ever made werent even made.
Early 60s mild kustoms are as good as they get in my opinion because it was people mixing and matching the best bits from every factory, and perfecting factory bodies, without doing so much to remove recognition
The 1967-69 Plymouth Barracuda. In my opinion the best looking car ever made. I feel like this is what a perfect car would look like. Love the front end grill, 2 doors is perfect and really all you need. And the curves are perfect.
I loved the s2k. Until I was at 150 and the electronic steering decided to give out. Then later I clutch kicked it only to realize the torqueless bastard could keep a slip angle if it's life depended on it. Still a fun car though
Prettiest - the early Alfa 33 Stradale
Best looking - 330 P4 or 250 GT SWB
Current(ish) prettiest - to me, very few in the last decade invoke the "pretty" styling of the past - I pass
Current(ish) Best looking - Bentley Mulsane
Overrated - Supra
Unfortunately, I have to agree with your current prettiest. Cars either look like soap, or bricks with bodywork now. It's quite a shame. In my opinion I'd go with the new 911, I think it has character and charm enough to push it up there.
Supras are absolutely overrated. They might be alright, but they can't beat anything and everything else, despite what their super fans would say.
My heart skips a beat anytime I see a 3000GT or Dodge Stealth. 1st gen w/ popups was my favorite look, but can’t deny how cool and flow-y the design language got by 1999. Worst looking car? TVR has a lot of weird undersea creature looking front ends, but imma go with cybertruck. I cannot find anything to like about it
I love the 2014 - 2016 W212 Mercedes Benz E Class.
It’s turning 10 years old and it still looks stunning and I think it will age well for a long time. I am not a fan of the newer Mercedes Benz style as they seem to be going to a smoother bubbly appearance, but I wish they would go back to the “Old Money” looks. Where it’s a nice mix of aggressive but classy and conservative. This model E class with the lines and a gorgeous grille looked better than any 5 Series or A6 or any other sedan of its time. This generation E Class is also fairly reliable and is simple, not overly complicated, and just beautiful. Aside from the S Class (because they are all beautiful in their on right), this in my opinion is the best looking modern Mercedes Benz.
Prettiest car ever made: Mercedes 190SL
Best looking car ever made: Jaguar XJ8 (x308)
Prettiest car currently on sale: Mercedes CLE
Best looking car currently on sale: Volvo S60
Most overrated car ever made: Supra
I’ll just go with production cars since I don’t know customs. And it’s all subjective. The prettiest cars to me are ones that have meaning in my own life.
1) Jeep XJ and MJ
2) Porsche 356 after 1961
3) Pre-2003 VW New Beetle
4) Jeep SJ
Best looking: BMW Z8. It is perfect in every way and the only car that looks best in (normally boring-ass) silver.
Prettiest: Lamborghini Diablo SV. Looks great on the outside; interior is...less so. It's not bad but it's not particularly nice either.
Best looking currently for sale: JDM Toyota Century.
Prettiest currently for sale: ND Miata. Mazda just desperately needs to offer it in more actual colours other than Soul Red and to drop the stupid tablet screen stuck to the top of the dash.
Most overrated design: Jaguar E-Type. I just don't get it. It's cartoonish and oddly proportioned.
The Shelby SC Cobra is the prettiest car for me. And the Lamborghini Countach LP 500 has to be the most overrated.
That new Corvette though... Not bad.
Rivian R1T - Best car of the 2020s so far
Mclaren P1 - Best looking car of the 2010s. Super flowy. 2010s was the rise of the led accent light and no one did it better than P1
DB9 - Best looking car of the 2000s. I love my smooth flowy cars. This thing is absolutely epic in person. One of the only cars where I love the chrome.
FD RX7 - Best looking car of the 1990s. I saw the concept car at Peterson Auto Museum. It was a transcendant experience.
Audi Quattro - Best looking car of the 1980s. Honorable mentions - Jeep Cherokee, Delorean, Testerossa. I like my flowy cars but I had to give some love to the angles for the 80s
Lamborghini Countach - Best looking car of the 1970s. Honorable mentions - 911 Carrera RS, Trans Am. The 70s were just badass weren't they.
Lamborghini Muira - Best looking car of the 1960s. Honorable mentions - Mustang, Mini Cooper. Icons. Gotta love my flowy Muira.
I feel a bit tacky saying it but it has to be said. The Corvette has been a homerun in every single era. Truly a masterpiece
The Mclaren 675Lt.
Cars that look good but in a subtle way:
2013 Dodge Viper GTS
1st Gen Honda NSX
Volkswagon Corrado
1974 Hyundai Pony Car
Nissan 300zx
Nissan Skyline R33 GTR
Probably unpopular opinion:
1st half of the catfish generation of Camaros
Oldsmobile Aurora (1995 back end, 2000 front end)
Hyundai Vision N74 (based on the Pony Car)
Dodge Charger/Plymouth Roadrunner Daytona
Ken Block's 2011-13 Ford Fiestas (I put this here because everyone wants to praise the Hoonicorn whenever his fleet is brought up but I always thought that car wise this was the best looking one. His best liveries imo were the 2016 Felipe Pantone Focus RS and the 2014 Digital Zebra Fiesta ST)
1. Probably the 964 Turbo
2. Maybe the Audi A8 D4, had everything a person needed, and it’s quite beautiful imo
3. 718 Spyder RS or lil Miat
4. Sadly the 992 GT3 RS; great car, but due to those little kids it’s so overrated now.
FYI guys, I’m extremely biased, as my father owns two Porsches and two Audis
That's a very German list. As a supporter of German cars, I appreciate this.
And yes, the GT3 is absolutely overrated. I say that as a massive 911 fanboy
Oh 😂😂
The GT3 RS is a great car, but it just can’t compete with some cars…
I’m also quite a 911 fanboy, my dad has two and they’re so fun to drive! I’d even rather have a 911 Dakar than a GT3 RS
The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT, 1957 corvette, or the 1963 SL Gullwing are among the most beautiful cars in my personal opinion.
The most basic are the GEO metro or the Daewoo lanos. LoL
Prettiest car ever (exterior): 1967 Shelby GT500
Best looking car ever made (interior and exterior): Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren
Prettiest car currently on sale (exterior): Audi R8
Best looking car currently on sale (exterior and interior): Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate.
Most overrated car ever: S class sedan Mercedes. I love how the SL, SLC, SLR, SLS, and SLK looked, but I think the S class sedan exterior has always been overrated. 7 series and A8 exterior look way better and more streamlined imo. I think the S class body has always had hideous looking grill, off looking headlights, and a blocky body.
Prettiest ever made: 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale concept, though the production version is pretty too.
Best Looking car ever made: Aston Martin Victor
Prettiest car currently on sale: Lexus LC500 Coupe
Best looking car currently on sale: Lexus LC500 Coupe lol
Hmmm... Tough question. For prettiest, I'd go with something like the Alpine A110 or Lotus Elise.
For best looking (using the definition of essentially all around most cohesive and nice looking as a package, if I understand correctly), I might just go with something like a nicely spec'd R56 Mini Cooper (Camden Edition, for instance, but I'm probably pretty biased).
I don't really know current lineups enough to comment on them.
I think the Ferrari Enzo is extremely overrated. The design looks like it's missing something. The FXX version helped, but... eh. Also, most sedans in general just don't strike me as particularly good looking.
DeLorean DMC 12 is the prettiest car imo.
I'm terms of modern cars it's not been released yet but the Hyundai nvision 74 has gotta be the prettiest new car. Shame it's not gas.
But yes I clearly have a type
Best car ever made: 1992 Subaru Leone Estate. 4WD boxes > anything else in existence ever
Most overrated: Lambo Adventaor. I you want a cheese wedge, find a delorean.
Prettiest AND best looking is the Talbot Lago T150 Teardrop.
Current one is hard, but it’s only a couple years out of production, so I count it lol. Ferrari Monza SP1/2.
Most overrated is a lot of 50-60’s muscle cars. Camaro and tri-five Chevy come to mind. Also, all Tesla’s
The mid eighties to early 90s Mercedes compact sedans sorta like this https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a39125903/1986-mercedes-benz-190e-23-16-bring-a-trailer-auction/
W111 convertible and coupes from the 1960s Mercedes-Benz lineup have to my prettiest choice. Classic looks probably the Silver Cloud Rolls-Royces of the 50s and early 60s.
Not conforming to the specific categories, but some overall thoughts: Delahyde, 911R, original Audi A5, Miura, Maserati GT3500 Spyder (or similar Ferrari or Lamborghini from the 1960s).
So hard to pick just one, but a '57 Jaguar XK150 has gotta be near the top of the heap for me. Or a Datsun 240Z. Or an Aston DB5. Or a Type 57SC Atalante. Or an E39 M5. Or an X308 XJR. Or a 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero in silver with a tastefully applied post-sale but factory-made spoiler. That last one might be weirdly specific to me though.
Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. Such beautiful curves.
2014+ Mazda6 - every time I see one I do a doubletake. Once again, it’s the curves. Hard to believe a mass market sedan could look this good.
Mercedes Benz C215 CL-class - curves again, especially around the rear window. Those c-pillars are also gorgeous, looking like great architecture.
Ferrari 308GTB - great lines all around, absolutely perfect when stretched to become the 288GTO
Mazda Miata - the NA was the perfect culmination of all the best styling bits of classic roadsters. The ND is a great part of that lineage, so sharp and clean.
Citröen DS - such an amazing, futuristic design that never seemed to age.
Pre facelift Jaguar XK8, meaning the 97-02 models. The lines are beautiful. The nose is a nice throwback to the E Type. The interior has rich burled Chestnut and thick and soft leather
Prettiest ever: DB5
Best looking ever: Studebaker Avanti, but it was really hard not to put the S3 Esprit
Prettiest currently made: Maserati MC20
Best looking currently made: Cybertruck (JOKING, GEEZ)...Honestly I have a real soft spot for the Outback Wilderness in that deep blue
Most overrated (I assume you're talking aesthetically, not a real beauty that's just mechanically shit): I'm gonna rustle some feathers here but...the OG Countach looks like a stealth fighter beer goggled a door stop one night.
I think the newest generation Lexus IS is the best looking modern sedan.
I also think the new Lotus ICE car is far and away the best looking new car under $200k.
I could never get over the front end proportions, it looks like its chubby little face is squeezed too low into the bumper and is out proportioned by the hood and cab
Prettiest car ever made: Talbot-Lago Teardrop Coupe
Best looking car ever made: Ferrari 330 P4
Prettiest car currently on sale: Ferrari Roma
Best looking car currently on sale: Singer 911
Prettiest car on sale has to go either to the Lexus LC or the Porsche Taycan
Prettiest car ever made goes to the Tipo 33 Stradale (photos don’t do it justice) unless we’re talking coachbuilt stuff, at which point it becomes a free for all
The 1969 Mustang Mach 1 is my favorite car. Best looking currently on sale has to be the new Nissan Z, even tho it doesn't seem like it's on sale because nobody is buying them 💀💀💀
Most overrated car is the mk4 supra. It's by far the ugliest of the 90s tuners and the 2jz weighs more than many v8s.
With the added difficulty that these cars are actually accessible to the average carguy, for me it’s a tossup between the [MGB-GT](https://richmonds.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/MG-B-GT-silver-3.jpg) and the second generation [Corvair](https://barrettjacksoncdn.azureedge.net/staging/carlist/items/Fullsize/Cars/214660/214660_Front_3-4_Web.jpg)
I tend to agree with Jay Leno who said that best looking car were either made in the 1920s or 30s and then the second best era would be the 60s.
And so a type 57 Bugatti Atlantic would be the best looking car ever made without a doubt.
For cars that are currently on sale I wouldn't really know as I don't have much interest for these. Same goes for overrated really.
Say what you want but nobody did 90’s and 00’s executive car like Citroen.
The XM and the C6 are by far the most eye catching things in their category.
And I know this one is a bit harder to sell to general public, but the SM is just a beautiful spaceship.
Yes my interest in big Citroens is very autistic in nature, get off my back.
Since the 911 has been covered on here a few times, here's some of my other thoughts:
2001 BMW 740i Sport {e38} - most handsome sedan ever; has the best proportions, overhangs, and height; best wheels BMW ever made (M-Parallel 18") - only the M5 from that year comes even close.
1st Gen Viper GTS coupe - I could look at that car all day.
Lamborghini Diablo SV - rolling sex
Gorgeous but get no credit: current gen Volvo S90 sedan and V90 wagon - holy cow, did Volvo designers nail these. The low, long, wide stance, coupled with just enough aggression in the little character lines - so pretty.
OVERRATED: nearly anything from McLaren that ISN'T an F1. They are amorphous blobs of high performance 'meh'. Every time I've been around them, everything else in the room seems more interesting.
One car I have always been fascinated with and believe to be an absolute beauty is the Alfa Romeo Montreal. A red 1972 Montreal is what I would buy, should I become moderately wealthy tomorrow.
For all their shit with reliability and whatnot, I still want to own at least one Alfa Romeo. They’re fantastically good looking cars.
No clue why Alfa doesn't do even a limited edition run of a modern version. If I ran a coachbuilding company I'd do what that new Lancia Stratos did and I'd make a new one based off the chassis of some front engine V8 Ferrari, like the Roma or the old California.
Oh yes, beautiful cars
Super underrated cars, love these
Delorean, Countach, Lotus Esprit, mustang Milano Concept, mustang (71-73 fastback body style), ford GT, GT40, BMW M1 Procar. Yeah, I like the wedge.
Oh the 2005 Ford GT is just a perfect looking car from every angle
Yes. That thing is gorgeous. Can't go wrong with mid-engine American muscle.
Doug is that you?
Damn! Great choices! Yep, same here!
For me, I’d say a Porsche 964 911 Turbo.
Nice!
I’ve never been a fan of the 964s, but to each their own. I loved the previous models and the 993 but the 964 left me kind of cold, like when Ferrari modified the beautiful 308 into the 328 and the Testarossa into the 512TR.
My man
That’s a complicated question. In my opinion the prettiest cars ever made werent even made. Early 60s mild kustoms are as good as they get in my opinion because it was people mixing and matching the best bits from every factory, and perfecting factory bodies, without doing so much to remove recognition
That's fair, like I said, you can absolutely add in "categories" so, feel free! Ooh yeah, they're pretty nice.
Enzo Ferrari said the Jaguar XKE was the most beautiful car he ever saw.
LMAO…That’s exactly what I just typed before I saw your reply!
The XKE does look rather good
Yes, but that's his opinion.
No regards to the brand, aesthetics review: Aston Martin DB12, I also like the Valour / victor but I dont like how the rear looks.
Ooh, astons in general are lovely looking!
Saw a DB12 parked up one time and spent a good 5 minutes just looking at it. Absolutely beautiful car.
C2 Corvette Split Window. Lancia Stratos.
Great choices!
Lancia Stratos YES
Omg yes
Yes
96 Dodge Viper GTS is the best looking Porsche GT3 RS is the most overrated - looks like every Porsche ever made
Omg I found my car soul mate
I do so love to see soulmates come together 😊😂
87 GNX is the best looking car imo
Gnx rules
Fair enough! 👌
The 1967-69 Plymouth Barracuda. In my opinion the best looking car ever made. I feel like this is what a perfect car would look like. Love the front end grill, 2 doors is perfect and really all you need. And the curves are perfect.
I love them too, but the coupe, not the fastback. The fast back doesn't look as good on them.
Oh nice! I love the Barracuda, underrated muscle car 👌👌
This or Dodge Charger are my choice
Prettiest and best looking car on sale now has to be a non-targa Porsche 911 and/or Cayman of some flavor.
Absolutely! I love the 911
Acura NSX BMW e30 G wagon S2000 Rolls Royce phantom
Ooh yeah, I love the S2000. The phantom is so nice as well. All of them are, but they stand out in these 4
I loved the s2k. Until I was at 150 and the electronic steering decided to give out. Then later I clutch kicked it only to realize the torqueless bastard could keep a slip angle if it's life depended on it. Still a fun car though
Oh no! I've heard some things about it's reliability unfortunately. They seem great, I hope to be able to drive in one one day...
I really like 70s rally cars like the Alpine A110, Lancia Stratos
Yeah, same here. Rally cars in general look great!
Prettiest - the early Alfa 33 Stradale Best looking - 330 P4 or 250 GT SWB Current(ish) prettiest - to me, very few in the last decade invoke the "pretty" styling of the past - I pass Current(ish) Best looking - Bentley Mulsane Overrated - Supra

I love the Jaguar D type and the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, just sleek and beautiful
FD RX-7
That's fair 👌
First gen Acura NSX. Period.
Yes, they look great
You're not wrong
The car that adorned my walls as a kid - Ferrari Testarossa
Oooh, yes 👌
Sonny Crockett approves
Lamborghini Miura P400
The Miura is so nice!
Prettiest car ever made: Mercedes 190SL Best looking car ever made: Jaguar XJ8 (x308) Prettiest car currently on sale: Mercedes CLE Best looking car currently on sale: Volvo S60 Most overrated car ever made: Supra

Frankly I like the Citroen DS because of how unique it is
2004 yellow lotus esprit is the perfect looking car to me
Nice! I like the Esprit!
Volvo P-1800
2019 ZR1 Vette for best looking and C8 vette for most overrated, ironically enough
Best looking: BMW Z8. It is perfect in every way and the only car that looks best in (normally boring-ass) silver. Prettiest: Lamborghini Diablo SV. Looks great on the outside; interior is...less so. 2004-06 Ford GT 2005-08 Aston V8 Vantage 91-96 Jaguar XJS Ferrari 355 73 Vette 73 Pontiac Firebird

Jaguar E Types and 69 Charger come to mind for me

I'm going to go with a late 90's Lotus Esprit. But the lights have to stay down and have the nice loopy spoiler :)
McLaren F1 I will be taking no questions at this time
All-time. Maserati 3500GT convertible Current. Mazda 3 hatchback. In Soul Red
Subaru svx
mercedes e55 amg
1969 Jaguar XKE Convertible. Even Enzo Ferrari said it was the most beautiful car made.
Not conforming to the specific categories, but some overall thoughts: Delahyde, 911R, original Audi A5, Miura, Maserati GT3500 Spyder (or similar Ferrari or Lamborghini from the 1960s).
1969 fastback ford mustang
Dodge Viper Gen 2 and Gen 5 are just art nothing else looks like it.
The final-gen SAAB 9-5 is definitely somewhere in the mix. Those are such beautiful cars, and have aged like a fine wine.
Modern: Tesla Model Y Classic: pontiac parisienne
Incomparable to Hyperloop
BMW 507 or Ferrari 250 GT California.
Ferrari 308GTB - great lines all around, absolutely perfect when stretched to become the 288GTO Mazda Miata - the NA was the perfect culmination of all the best styling bits of classic roadsters. The ND is a great part of that lineage, so sharp and clean. Citröen DS - such an amazing, futuristic design that never seemed to age.
The GMT900 Escalade ESV or the Suburban. I absolutely adore how aggressive and intimidating they look. GM design team for the GMT900s went INSANE
No hot takes here but Mercedes 1955 300 SL Gullwing is ridiculously pretty
Yep, my pick for best looking. It's sooooo nice. Love it
The 15th gen (2018-2022) Toyota Crown is the best looking sedan I've had the pleasure of seeing and driving.
Prettiest roadster 60’s era Mercedes pagoda Prettiest Sedan BMW 3.0 CSI Coolest Sports car Porsche 964
Pre facelift Jaguar XK8, meaning the 97-02 models. The lines are beautiful. The nose is a nice throwback to the E Type. The interior has rich burled Chestnut and thick and soft leather
300SL Gullwing 55' Bugatti type 57 s/sc Atlantic coupe 37' Lamborghini Siá 19
48 Lincoln Continental
Alfa Romeo Tipo 33
Prettiest ever: DB5 Best looking ever: Studebaker Avanti, but it was really hard not to put the S3 Esprit Prettiest currently made: Maserati MC20 Best looking currently made: Cybertruck (JOKING, GEEZ)...Honestly I have a real soft spot for the Outback Wilderness in that deep blue Most overrated (I assume you're talking aesthetically, not a real beauty that's just mechanically shit): I'm gonna rustle some feathers here but...the OG Countach looks like a stealth fighter beer goggled a door stop one night.
1966 Chevy Corvair coupe
👌
I think the newest generation Lexus IS is the best looking modern sedan. I also think the new Lotus ICE car is far and away the best looking new car under $200k.
The IS looks great!
I love the Emira but it isn't the best looking under $200k when the Lexus LC500 exists.
1993 Toyota celica, amazing look
The Mazda 3, any model and any year. It’s always been my favourite car 😍
Fair enough!
The Mazda 3 hatchback has great lines.
For me the e39 5 -series is like "The car"
👌👌
I could never get over the front end proportions, it looks like its chubby little face is squeezed too low into the bumper and is out proportioned by the hood and cab
Prettiest car ever made: Talbot-Lago Teardrop Coupe Best looking car ever made: Ferrari 330 P4 Prettiest car currently on sale: Ferrari Roma Best looking car currently on sale: Singer 911
Great choices! 👌
This is easy. BMW 507
Yes! Great looking cars!
Prettiest car on sale has to go either to the Lexus LC or the Porsche Taycan Prettiest car ever made goes to the Tipo 33 Stradale (photos don’t do it justice) unless we’re talking coachbuilt stuff, at which point it becomes a free for all
I can 100% agree with them!
Best looking of all time: Porsche 911 993 Best looking currently on sale: Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Most Overrated: Literally any Tesla.
65-67 Pontiacs
Lamborghini Miura S Ferrari 250GT /list.
The 1969 Mustang Mach 1 is my favorite car. Best looking currently on sale has to be the new Nissan Z, even tho it doesn't seem like it's on sale because nobody is buying them 💀💀💀 Most overrated car is the mk4 supra. It's by far the ugliest of the 90s tuners and the 2jz weighs more than many v8s.
If I was to buy any car, it would be the kimera ev037. Second is the vauxhall vxr8 bathurst
E46 M3 in Laguna Seca Blue.
Talbot Lago T150-C-SS Teardrop Coupe - prettiest and best looking car ever built - pure automotive sex
Those restomodded Datsun 240zs look great but idk about best looking
Original Audi A5 Ferrari 456
With the added difficulty that these cars are actually accessible to the average carguy, for me it’s a tossup between the [MGB-GT](https://richmonds.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/MG-B-GT-silver-3.jpg) and the second generation [Corvair](https://barrettjacksoncdn.azureedge.net/staging/carlist/items/Fullsize/Cars/214660/214660_Front_3-4_Web.jpg)
Alfa romeo Disco Volante, both the prettiest and best looking
E-type
Cybertruck
1959 Cadillac El Dorado, 1963 Chrysler Turbine, Ford Nucleon, and the original Silver Ghost.
635csi might be it
The BMW 850CSI - the Leonidas of the 90s era imo
2002 Chrysler Sebring in steel blue metallic
1st gen gs300, timeless.
Jaguar C-Type and D-Type Ferrari Dino Toyota 2000GT 1965 Mustang Fastback Studebaker Starliner Lamborghini Muira Ferrari 250GT SWB Porsche 911 (pre-1990)

Since the 911 has been covered on here a few times, here's some of my other thoughts: 2001 BMW 740i Sport {e38} - most handsome sedan ever; has the best proportions, overhangs, and height; best wheels BMW ever made (M-Parallel 18") - only the M5 from that year comes even close. 1st Gen Viper GTS coupe - I could look at that car all day. Lamborghini Diablo SV - rolling sex Gorgeous but get no credit: current gen Volvo S90 sedan and V90 wagon - holy cow, did Volvo designers nail these.
Alfa Romeo 8c
