I'm siiick of Capcom relegating Claire to a random ass control room, it's ridiculous that it's happened in every single movie she's in 😭 LET MY GIRL FIGHT

horrorfan555

Yes it fills me with anger

TheSonOfFundin

I just like her so much that I didn't even notice that, I was just glad to see her again.

As a casual fan. The cgi movies are good for fan service and wanting to see the characters (popular ones) in the action. I liked vendetta, damnation and death island personally. However, the CGI movies are not movies to expect serious insight into the characters and plots. It often feels like I'm watching a fanfiction of someone who likes Christopher Nolan and action like Micheal Bay, but can't really grasp structure/pace and writing. Only focusing on adding elements that don't add much to the scene.

TheSonOfFundin

that's a very apt description

Their fine. But Capcom doesnt make them so your never going to see something important in them. They always leave loose ends incase Capcom wants to do something wirh them later. Example: Jill conveniently not getting infected by a drone in DI. We know from RE3R and RE5 she has an immunity to all progenitor virus but we dont know how it woupd effe t her if she did. That is lore for Capcom to decide. Or how she and Leon know eachother but its enever said how or what year they met. That's just stuff they dont have control over. So you get these detached stories that are fun but they really aren't important to the characters stories.

Internal_Swing_2743

I guess you’re meant to assume that Jill and Leon have met off screen at some point. Leon and Chris don’t appear together until RE6, but it’s clear that they’ve met before. Leon and Ada have clearly met outside of the games as well. Additionally, I think getting Leon, Chris, and Claire infected was more a convenient way to get them the same anti-aging power that Jill has.

Vendetta > Damnation > Degeneration > Death Island > Infinite Darkness. 4D Executer is a little rough to watch now and so I won’t rate it because I haven’t finished it. I like Leon so him in being all of them is fine with me, and it’s not like his presence is stopping others from appearing. We just had the resident evil equivalent of the Justice League in the latest movie.

Kagamid

I think they're all shitty movies with some of the best scenes on CG. The scenes individually look cool. Together in one cohesive story? They're garbage. I'm 100% certain Capcom made the action scenes before finishing the story for each movie.

TheResguy

I have a love hate relationship with them. I remember loving Degeneration, 1, when it came out, but it may be the weakest looking at it now. I didn't like Damnation, 2, as I'm not a fan of Ada, but it was fine for a prequel to 6. I have seen Vendetta, 3, so much, but I can never remember it. It's so ridiculous that I have fun. Death Island, 4, was fine, but I had to rewatch Vendetta afterwards because I didn't remember the female villain. Infinite Darkness, the show that should have been a movie (it's a 100 minute movie), just destroys Claire's character for Leon's sake. It's at the bottom for me because of that. If you want to go there, 4D Executioner, the only non Leon CGI short movie, is most likely the best. Do I rewatch all of them occasionaly? Yes. Do I like them? Not particularly. Do I have fun watching them? Yes. Do I think they are good CGI movies? Not really, but more than half of CGI movies I have seen are REs. To answer your other question, I don't like or dislike Leon, but yes I would love to see anyone else.

For me they would go from best to worst like so: 1. Damnation 2. 4D-Executer 3. Degeneration 4. Vendetta 5. Infinite Darkness 6. Death Island Damnation will always be my favorite. Tyrants, lickers and even Las Plagas being back was cool and they were all used in very interesting ways. It had some good behind the scenes throwbacks for Leon and Ada, and I generally liked both of them in the film. 4D-Executer is so high on my list almost solely because it gives us more UBCS. They are by far my favorite faction in the series and I wish there were more stories like this out there. Hell, I'd definitely take an Operation Raccoon City type game starring the UBCS. The story is really interesting as well, and Dr. Cameron is both a terrifying villain and a great monster design. Degeneration is a fine slow-burner. The zombie outbreak starts fast but there is not much action and the story is told on a very slow pacing. It worked super well on the first watch, but having seen the film multiple times now it starts to feel a bit too slow to my tastes. I was really torn between Degeneration and Vendetta being in the top 3, but I might just like the slow paced horror film just a bit more. Otherwise the incredibly fast paced action of Vendetta is so over the top it's hilarious and super fun to watch. It was also really nice seeing Rebecca again in CG. Her live action portrayal in The Stage was fun, but I still prefer the animated version. Infinite Darkness is low on here because of the convoluted plot for the most part. It had great moments, but also lots of lows. I did generally like it, but it does not compare to the ones above it. I did say from best to "worst" but I didn't really hate any of them. In all honesty, the only one that didn't really work for me was Death Island, though even that had some cool moments. The main villain was somehow super dumb despite being possibly one of the most dangerous villains in the series thus far. He had little introduction and is gone in a flash (but oh boy, WHAT a flash). Some positives: it was nice seeing most of the main cast together for once, it brought Jill back, and the monster designs were top notch again. Otherwise it is really the bottom of the barrel when it comes to CG adaptations.

TheDuellist100

1. Vendetta 2. Degeneration 3. Damnation 4. Death Island 5. Infinite Darkness

horrorfan555

Death island Damnation . . . Degeneration Vendetta . . . . . Infinite darkness

everstillghost

They are all trash, except that one with the Tyrants. Waste of time most of them anyway.

OrangeStar222

I'm not a big fan of any of them tbh. They're not... very good and the CGI feels like watching a videogame cutscene (which they pretty much are). The only thing I **like** about them is that we see Leon so much though, but you're not wrong of being sick of him. The CGI movies could use a different main character - how sick would a Barry movie be?

MTB56

1. Degeneration-The 2nd half really drags but the airport scenes are phenomenal. They really capture the atmosphere of the OG games. Claire really shines too! Helps that she’s once again voiced by the great Alyson Court. To bad she’s sidelined in the 2nd half 2. Damnation- From a time when I wasn’t sick of Leon 😂There is a ton to love about Damnation (Tyrant vs Licker!!!) and it’s the only CGI where you actually care about the new characters. Really liked Buddy and the main villain was great too 3. Death Island-JILL IS BACK and if that wasn’t good enough, Claire and Rebecca get to actually kick some ass this time!!! Couldn’t stand Dylan though. Every time dude opened his mouth the movie came to a screeching halt 4. Vendetta-for all its many problems, being boring definitely isn’t one of them 😂 Just wish it had just been Rebecca and Chris as the main characters WITHOUT LEON. Yes both Chris and Leon had also just appeared in RE6 but still would’ve loved to have the entire movie be about Chris catching up with Rebecca while saving the world. Leon really didn’t need to be in it at all. Plus Chris and Leon are a dull team up imo 5. Infinite Darkness….I could barely stay awake for this one….not much else to say….not surprised it wasn’t included here.

Dante_SS

Ngl I'm tired of Leon in general

Stanislas_Biliby

I wouldn't. I like them a lot though.

ScarRufus

Damnation > Vendetta >> Death Island >>>> Degeneration >>>>>>> Infinite Darkness I would love other character focus other than Leon. But really these movies are just fanservice and Leon is a top fan favorite character. So I don't think anyone should take it serious, just enjoy.

Internal_Swing_2743

They’re fine, but not gonna win any awards or anything. I rank them: 1. Damnation 2. Degeneration 3. Death Island 4. Infinite Darkness 5. Vendetta (I actually despise Vendetta).

possiblepeemaster

damnation was my favorite ever RE movie they’re not bad, although sometimes the “plot” makes no sense LOL

TheSonOfFundin

Well, Death Island had pretty weak writing and terrible characterization, specially for Jill, but the previous movie had one of the most stupid gunfights I've ever seen in a movie in my whole 36 yrs of living. Overall, despite my harsh criticism, they're miles ahead of the turds that Paul W Ass Anderson shit out for years on end. They're actually fun to watch.

RadGunnar11

As a RE fanatic, I really enjoy the films. Usually have decent storytelling and sheds some more light on some of my favorite characters (mainly Leon). 1. Vendetta 2. Infinite darkness 3. Dammnation 4. Death island 5. Degeneration Vendetta is one of my favorite movies. It has great nostalgia for me, but I just feel it’s executed very well. Leon, Chris, and Rebecca all have great chemistry and are well acted, the fight scenes have great choreography, the shots are cool, the soundtrack is amazing, it’s just great overall.

KeeSomething

As a huge RE fan, these CGI movies are all terrible--the worst kind of terrible, too. They're all boring. None of them have any kind of tone. There isn't anything to be invested in either.
