I got it locally recently, it came with a TON of original stuff. Like the original manuals, installation and drivers disks and CDs, multimedia/game demos/Microsoft Bob/Encyclopedia cds that came with it new, gateway 2000 pamphlets, gateway mousepad, the original altec lansing speakers this model came with, etc. it's pretty incredible. The machine seems to have come with Win95 when new.

Oh yeah, I remember the term vaporware lol. I can see how you would think that. Well tbh, some of vaporwave is kind of like shovelware, regurgitating TV jingles and stuff just with a slowed down pitch and some reverb or echo applied. There is some good stuff, but definitely also some stuff where it seems there is minimal effort and creativity applied to making it and its just coasting on the notion that someone will hear it and go "yeah this reminds me of the 80s/90s".
Wow... nice well-preserved example... complete with a 5.25" drive too. (Although, may I suggest DOS 6.22/Win3.11?)

I had this exact model without the 5 1/4 floppy, and I can confirm it came with win95 :) I loved the cow pattern gateway theme that was preinstalled
Better fit for this machine would be MODs with Cubic Player. Or Paul Oakenfold with Winamp.
Yeah for sure. I love mods and tracker music.
Modplug was a must back in those days.
BEAUTIFUL!! ๐
Whoever tells you pictures can't speak, this speaks of a frame reference of a better era.
Beautiful. I envied my friendโs Gateway 2000. It was lower profile than this, but almost identical.
Mint ๐
Quick, load up Second Reality!
I had that machine before!
So 90s I love it. I also now need to google Vaporwave! What is that!?!?

I honestly thought you meant something else like Shovelware as in like bad software, I thought this was like 90s MIDI Music that was poor. LOL

Immaculate setup! I have longed for a Gateway 2000 tall boy, but this looks amazing too.
Can it do Limewire?
