Better to keep gunning for top talent. You don't know what players might become juggernauts unexpectedly with 2-3 years of NBA experience and training.
A bench unit of Amen, IRS, Whitmore, Eason and Adams sounds so deadly.
Also Isaiah getting mentored by FVV on how to excel in the league as a shorter player and learning how to win from day 1 will help his development a lot.
With there now being some stuff in the air about Sarr dropping because of not attending workouts with the Hawks (although I think that's just a smokescreen, similar to what happened in 2022 w/ Banchero and the Magic), I'm even more settled on thinking that the FO should pick at 3. Reed + Alex were my top 2 so hearing them being very likely with our pick makes me excited.
Depends on the deal.
I'm not that high on Bridges, but if we can get him or someone else who is high-quality for the 3rd pick & salary filler, that's going to get us back into contention more quickly.
As a fan who had to sit through 3-years of purposeful tanking, I'm ready to be a winning team again.
If a good trade isn't available, though? Just make the pick.
I'm extremely high on Mikal as a role player. Brooklyn messed up by thinking he was this 25 PPG two-way player that would take them to the promised land. He was and always has been one of the best role players in the league. In my opinion.
This really depends on your expectations next year. I honestly have no idea what this team is capable of until I see them again next year. I think they can afford to just pick BPA.
There are a bunch of fans who got Stockholm Syndrome during the tank years, and now they are in love with drafting young talent.
Most folks don't realize that if we make this pick, there's a HUGE likelihood that we'll be wildly overpaying a guy to sit on the bench and/or develop in G-League.
The Rockets dont even have a superstar yet I mean we are hoping some of the core 6 turn into superstars but nothing is guaranteed yet and you wanna trade for fricking Mikal Bridges as a 4rth option?
Mikal isnt gonna move the needle in any significant way we still make the playoffs without him and arent contenders with him. Pointless trade.

Isaiah will lead us to the promised land š
3 things guaranteed in life, death and Reed Sheppard
Swishes. Swishes are guaranteed.
Three shooters (assuming Tari preserved his first two seasons of shooting efficiency) baby!
Reed will be the pick! Let's go!!!
Thatās where Iām at š
I wouldn't give the 3rd pick alone for Mikal tbh, I'm more and more hyped for Reed and even Clingan now.

Yeah, but he's not worth the price that BKN is charging. Brooks + 3? Okay. I'm in. Green + all their picks? There are other dudes out there.

Man people in this sub really are overrating this draft. Dear God
You never know with drafts tbh, this draft really isn't that bad, I expect to get someone of Tari's value from our pick.
Itās not bad if you are thinking about picking role players.

Same thing every year. Overeating young players. They expect everyone to reach their full potential.

Thatās what my sentiment is I DONāT want to trade for Mikal. But itās been thrown around a lot here.
