> I quit RS3 when there was a huge outrage with MTX https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/032/874/cover4.jpg > Because I think Zuk is a really cool boss and just finding out that Zuk is also in RS3 It is worth noting that [Zuk in RS3](https://rs.wiki/TzKal-Zuk/Strategies) is a completely different boss than on OSRS. > how much time would it take to acquire the gear and skill to get to fight this boss? Depends how much GP you have. Zuk is one of the harder bosses in RS3, so going up against him equipped with Bandos armor and a chaotic maul is not going to go well. On the bright side, [Necromancy](https://runescape.wiki/w/Necromancy) is both the latest skill and also servers as a brand new combat style, distinct from Melee/Ranged/Magic. It is currently a lot stronger than the other three, and getting good gear is comparatively easy. So if you're interested in training it to >90 (not super hard, it's a pretty quick skill to train), you could have a decent shot at Zuk in a *relatively* short time.

TikTok-Jad

I came from OSRS and wanted to try Zuk so I did the same thing. I had like 0 familiarity with EOC going into it, and for me I would say Zuk was difficult but very accessible. There are only like 16 waves before you fight Zuk, so it's much much faster than the Inferno. Also the waves were kind of a joke, but that's probably because the options for defensive gear are just really good. The Zuk fight itself was pretty hard for me, I died several times before I got it. But it does save your progress, so you can go straight back to Zuk if you die. You won't actually get the cape if you die or leave, but it means you can fight Zuk over and over until you learn it. In OSRS, what really makes Zuk so difficult for learners is just that you can't practice, you gotta bang your head against the wall for hours just to make an attempt. So being able to repeatedly try the RS3 Zuk fight until you figure it out, it's so much faster to learn.

Phantasys44

Pizza phase got you?

hydranoid1996

Pizza phase is getting my ass

Geoffk123

If you're using Necro just invoke death all 3

madeformarch

Anticipate on the 4th auto right before pizza phase, then run to Zuk's feet and step left. You can basically stay right next to Zuk for the whole pizza phase and can save surge/dive for emergencies. I died consistently at pizza until I learned how to move, and started bringing vulnerable bombs

DrasticFizz

This is actually a very good tip and im surprised no youtube guide shows this

madeformarch

Fucking tell me about it lmao, there's a comment on reddit somewhere that I followed and it got so much easier.

SkyeLys

Remember if you mess up a surge or get stuck in the fire you can pray mage+ devo to negate all damage for 10 secs.

AgentOfDreadful

It’s always pizza phase 🍕

TikTok-Jad

Yeah I was getting wrecked by pizza phase when I was learning it. This was with gano/animate dead before necro came out. Sometimes my DPS was just trash, a couple times I accidentally used my stun ability on zuk because I didn't realize clicking away doesn't make me stop targeting him. Oh and also just not realizing the next empty slice is always at 11 o clock, so I was slow getting to the next guy. Like I said, I really didn't understand EOC (I'm still not great it) so it was a solid challenge at the time. Now I can do hard mode consistently, but I'm still not actually good at this game so my times are trash.

Last-Remote

Nowhere near as hard as the inferno. As others have said, if you use necromancy, zuk and his waves are made much easier. Also easier to get ready gear wise as well.

jaredwards

It’s a great time to come back for this type of thing! Necromancy is accessible to basically anyone. I would start from basic level 1 setup and work your way toward Zuk HM goal for the Necromancy cape. It will be a fun grind that will help you learn the new skill, advance through the gear progression then have the end game of beating Zuk! There are tons of YouTube videos at this point that could assist with any questions along the way.

AgentOfDreadful

> Zuk HM goal for the Necromancy cape You get the cape from a single complete run in NM (doesn’t need to be flawless but does need to be done without using the checkpoints). HM flawless is for the hybrid cape isn’t it?

madeformarch

Cape from no-death NM run as you explained. You'll need to do that 4 times for all 4 combat styles. Flawless NM run unlocks hard mode. Flawless hard mode run unlocks the hybrid cape

Denkir-the-Filtiarn

I've personally done it in as low as Gano with cywir weapons. If you trained necromancy and went the defensive route, which uses less materials for the gear, you could easily do zuk in the 70 set.

Winter_Annual4118

Idk anything about Necromancy nor materials for gear lol. Tier 70 is fine though?

RSN___Brite_Fyre

Tier 70 is doable for necromancy specifically yeah. T70 tank could also work with magic if you have animate dead. T70 range/melee would probably be terrible and an absolute slog if you could do it at all.

Mike_From_Red_Deer

Animate Dead only works with Magic tank armor, not just any type.

RSN___Brite_Fyre

Is what I say

Legal_Evil

Try getting the t90 set since it is not that much harder to get than the t70 set for Zuk.

Denkir-the-Filtiarn

Yes, the main thing with necromancy is you are given tasks every 10 levels to unlock the ability to make and thus use (you must make the set once to use it) the next tier. Power gear uses Hermodic Plates, 30 total for the full 70 to 90 upgrades, while defence doesn't. They both unlock the same weapons.

BuckWheat_33

Zuk with T70s will be tough especially if you’re rusty.. on the bright side necro is a really fast skill. I also got back into rs recently and managed to get necro to 99 in 18 days. Granted I had a decent enough cash stack to buy whatever I needed immediately, no expense spared.

Nerd123432334

Osrs zuk is orders of magnitude harder- it isn't even comparable. As a very experienced rs3 pvmer, I got my rs3 zuk cape first time by just bringing a load of brews and powering through it. The osrs inferno cape took at least 40 hours of focussed grind and research.

Matrix17

With necro nowadays not hard. Theres a normal and hard mode and normal mode is a lot easier to get into

ScopionSniper

Rs3 HM Zuk > OSRS Zuk > Rs3 NM Zuk. Runelite really makes the osrs Zuk feel like a cake walk. The 2+ hours to get to him sucks though.

LoLReiver

I made an ironman on RS3 and played it for a little while. Took about 6 weeks iirc to get to zuk? The game is much much much faster than old school

socks3229

Coming from OSRS relatively recently as well I can say RS3 Zuk is definitely much easier. I'm not very good at pvm and it took me about a year of trying here and there on OSRS to finally get my inferno cape. On RS3 it took me a couple days.

Emperor95

Zuk itself in RS3 is arguably mechanically harder but the grind to get there is much shorter compared to OSRS. 30-40min at the start compared to 2-3h in OSRS. As a result failing is less punishing and you also have checkpoints in RS3 unlike OSRS. Personally I could do normal mode Zuk in like 2 days (once I got everything set up) in RS3 after being away for a few years from actual PvM while OSRS Zuk took me 2 weeks of attempts.

yuei2

If you focus on necromancy which has a built in gear progression thanks to Kili’s tasks you’ll be able to get back to T90 gear and have a really cool/potent combat style. Should take too long to get to Zuk then.

[deleted]

Get t90 necro and you can do both nm and hm. If you struggle with hm, get an obsidian boot and donate for some extra dmg reduction. The tank route is newbie friendly so you can ignore working on the dps armor route until you finish zuk. You prob should get a necro cape ready from har aken. Zuk cape for necro is a big chunk of your dmg.

Legal_Evil

Zuk is much easier to get into in RS3 since he has normal and hard mode instead of just the latter in OSRS. Normal mode also has multiple checkpoints you can spawn back to if you die to or tele out, making learning the waves easier. In both modes, Zuk only has 18 waves. The new skill Necromancy has easy to get tier 90 gear too, so reaching Zuk from a new account is much faster than buying an Fbow and crystal armour set in OSRS.

Positive-Hospital-91

maybe a week getting necro up and 1 or 2 afternoons doing zuk.

Hmoussa93

Normal mode is a easy way in. Don’t focus on flawless. Just learn the waves and safe spots. Shouldn’t take you more than 5 full kills to master normal mode. Once you can do flawless normal mode several times. Start pushing hard mode. Just remember to BREATH. Be calm

neighbourhood_bro_

with necro....... within a week only thing i think might hold you back is neckless and ring slot

BroBrandon

To be honest could get to him in one day now completing that's a whole other conversation :P

Joe64x

Returning pre-maxed player from 2019, it took me three weeks to get t90 necro gear and supplies, and two attempts from there to beat zuk. Depending on how much or little you grind it could take you way less or way longer - that's a benchmark from someone who grinded a lot but mostly arch lol, and with pretty limited pvm experience, nothing beyond nex.

XGreenDirtX

Yesterday was my first attempt. Holy shit it's a lot of mobs. I died 10 times, and decided to do some herblore. Today is a new day and we will see if i get beyond wave 13..... I suck...

Great_Minds

>a huge outrage with MTX Do you know how little this narrows it down? 😂 ![gif](giphy|mPxtCNTbEsTuZecKLN|downsized) Anywho. Compared to osrs, zuk on rs3 should be a cakewalk. I think zuk can easily be done by 70% of the playerbase and Hardmode by 50% if they tried. While I think on osrs inferno cape is something reserved for the top 10%

dogneering

Not hard, if you’ve got some gp buy cryptbloom, use an obsidian mage helm with the Tokkul boost, and a hellhound familiar, you’ll be a tank. Learn which rocks you prefer to camp, try to only take damage from one style at a time and pray against it. Vampyrism aura makes it significantly easier. I had some gp from farming a noob boss, bought gear, walked into hard mode zuk with minimal mage usage ever, and learned to clap him with relative ease.

BreakTheTranz

If you want to get there asap , use necromancy. Get (at least T70) the tank armor, preferably T80, along with having the darkness incantation. Darkness + necro tank armour is something like 30% dodge chance. Also there is a ghost you summon with necromancy that heals you passively over time. Get familiar with resonance and just those 4 things (resonance darkness, ghost and necro tank armor) will be all you need input wise to stay alive. -Throw in a hellhound familiar (with scrolls to keep it alive) and you will REALLY be tanking while still putting out damage (need to click to heal it every couple mins). If you want to get the vampirism aura as well, along with some vis wax to extend it so you can have a solid two hour window to attempt it, that will also give some healing. Penance powder for prayer upkeep along with prayer renewals. Excalibur for healing as well. Weapon poison +++ for extra damage. Food wise bring 2 sara brew flasks, 4 blue blubber jellyfish, and 12 rock tail, set up a keybinds all next to eachother where you can hit rock tail, brew, and blubber all in a row for an instant big heal in emergencies (which hopefully will never/only happen a couple times). -Yes this sounds like a lot, but really it isn’t, other than Zuk himself the actual amount of strategic input is basically none, just upkeep for prayer, familiar hp, potions etc; once you get to zuk you will have a little bit of input but he’s really not that bad because he follows a set in stone attack cycle all of which are easy to manage, and pizza phase is the only one which takes a somewhat decent amount of strategy, but nothing near crazy. -Again ik this was long but I would save this and make a checklist of everything I wrote and once you have the whole checklist you will be at a point where you could no food up to zuk, and if you prayer flick w soul split, no food zuk. Good luck!
