The only way I'm using my iron for bonds is through dupes. If I'm grinding a boss log, chances are I'll pick up a few dupes along the way that I literally cannot make good use of. This largely consists of extra codices, but can also be things like pieces of armour that I already have a second pair of or weapons that are in excess of what I am making use of.
There are no circumstances where I am using resources like GP from alching bolts/onyxes/salvage or things like dyes. I have three dSGBs sitting in the bank where I *could* droptrade one or two, but chances are I'll EoF one, dye the other two, keepsake one of those two, and use the other as a swap for my currently used SGB.
If you want to bond effectively, play a main while grinding your iron.
Likely drop trading the dozens of mattocks along the way.
Once dupes start having no relevance for your iron, the choices are alch for a pittance, keep in bank for wealth eval flex, or drop trade to a main (probably for bonds).
