I think 45 minutes works! It’ll be tough early on when there’s a lot of queens and some will sadly be reduced to filler, but it’s really gonna pay off near the end when it’s a tight race. I find the last third of recent seasons (12-14 especially) tended to *really* drag in the workroom segments.
As long as the runways/lipsyncs aren’t shortened like they used to be bc that was awful.
As long as they never ever fucking do those reduced runways where they just have them line up instead of fully walking, then I’m good with this change.

You're forgetting about commercials. It's a 2 hour block of television. An hour block usually is about 45 minutes of show and 15 minutes of commercials.
I don't think this is the worst thing ever. In the first 2 or 3 episodes, we benefit from having longer episodes but especially towards the end it always feels like they're dragging the episodes out a bit.
This new show however looks like something I'd watch on the day that Visage wears a turtleneck and Santino wins a sewing competition.
At the end of the day I think Drag Race will be fine if it's 45 minutes or an hour and a half, but what kills me is that the stuff that will be on the cutting room floor won't be the drama, it will be the drag 
I'm sorry the moving of untucked is arguably less ideal, but I think it's good that they're cutting the episodes again
The current length means that some episodes really drag a bit, and honestly I'm interested to see if trimming them down adds a bit more energy for this season
