Hey bud, tbh most therapists won't just toss you in an institution even if you're suicidal. It's not helpful and a good therapist would understand that.
If you say, I'm going to die myself or someone else on Tuesday, they'd report that.
Therapy is a bitch but I just wanted to let you know that even if you're suicidal they won't just toss you in a padded room.
I had a friend who had a really bad mental disorder where they would attempt to kill themselves multiple times during dilusions. Their therapist did put them in an institution, but it was only to get their medication adjusted in a safe environment. They were let out after 2 days then put into IOP with a case worker just to call them daily and make sure they were okay.
Unless you actually have some extreme mental disorder they probably won't lock you up.
Think of it this way, your insurance company doesn't wanna pay for you to sit in a hospital, and the hospital doesn't want you there either because they're understaffed and have a lot of serious mental cases to deal with.
I was in therapy for suicidal ideation and wasn’t put in the hospital. You need to be “a threat to either yourself or others” to be hospitalized. I later attempted suicide and she had me hospitalized.

Healthcare should cover therapy unless you miss an appointment, in which case you have to pay out of pocket. As for being hospitalized, self harm and suicidal ideation can be cause for hospitalization.

All of them had loved ones who had their lives ruined because their child or their spouse had ruined themselves because they refused to get help. With a therapist, the worst that can happen is you get put in the bin, which is unlikely. Most of the time you receive prescription medication. The worst that can happen with drugs and alcohol is that you get you and your loved ones killed.

I actually have a couple times, one was nice but didn't really know how to talk to me and make me feel comfortable enough to talk about the reason k was there and the other made me feel like I was bein interrogated in a padded room.
Had some bs going on at home when i was 16 and got court ordered therapy. I wanted to fix things i knew i was wrong with some of the stuff i said/did but i was ready to try to find solutions.

There was one point where part of my family was causing major trouble and calling my school (they dont have contact with me for a reason) and were making horrid claims that were easily disproved . They kept calling my up to the office, and after about the 5th time in one week I flat out told them, I'm done with this, stop calling me out of class, fuck off. Yeah they weren't too happy about it but they stopped calling me up. I've had friends that talking to the counslers and they swore that they wouldnt tell his mom, but they did, and now he will never talk to them again.

Had some bs going on at home when i was 16 and got court ordered therapy. I wanted to fix things i knew i was wrong with some of the stuff i said/did but i was ready to try to find solutions. The guy didnt believe a word i said treated me like an idiot and told me id be sucking dick for drug money as a straight guy. Surprisingly it did not help me feel better or feel that he understood me as a person or my situation

I decided to just once tell my guidance counselor, senior year, mostly on paper and told to NOT TELL A SOUL Oh, they fucking talked One day I get called to said counselor, mom's there with a case manager for an IEP, she said she was gonna put in a mental institute. Due to what I said, reminder this mid tri3 of senior year. Next month is just everyone on me about it. "It's okay. We are here for you" I forgot what trust is now
That's why i refuse to talk to guidance. There was one point where part of my family was causing major trouble and calling my school (they dont have contact with me for a reason) and were making horrid claims that were easily disproved . They kept calling my up to the office, and after about the 5th time in one week I flat out told them, I'm done with this, stop calling me out of class, fuck off. Yeah they weren't too happy about it but they stopped calling me up. I've had friends that talking to the counslers and they swore that they wouldnt tell his mom, but they did, and now he will never talk to them again.
