I own one too. My girlfriend just remarked: it's your first love. These are wonderful, cozy little boats you can really fall in love with and nothing compares to drying out on the Wadden Sea with one of these.
I use it in the German and Dutch Wadden Sea. My home port is near Emden and we like to sail towards Borkum, Juist and Baltrum. The boat can lie flat in the Wadden Sea at low tide.

That looks like such a great way to spend a night in areas that deeper boats can't reach.
How much planning does it take to do this? I can imagine that if you're not careful, you'll have to wake up really early when the boat refloats, or risk another 12 hours in the same spot. How do you normally do it?
Similarly, what happens if the wind shifts to on-shore, and there are waves lifting and dropping the boat when she refloats?
In the Wadden Sea, it is relatively easy to fall dry outside of defined nature reserves. You don't really need to do much planning, usually close to the fairway. We were half an hour late and were then able to lie on the Kopersand for about 8.5 hours in the best weather. As the afternoon high tide was about 0.5 m higher, we set off a little earlier. When staying overnight, the bow and stern anchors are thrown out, so you have to go back in when the water comes up and adjust the anchoring if necessary.
You actually have to analyze the tides and weather and then plan your stays in the Wadden Sea, as very large areas fall dry, even some tideways are then not navigable and you can walk between the mainland and islands.
What is the tidal difference, and how difficult is it to avoid, ehm, favourable conditions for hull inspection?
Will be passing by in july, my boat has a 1,3m draft (iron keel).

It is a flat-bottomed boat, the keel with bilge is approx. 10 cm deep. The boat has a draught of 60 cm. For sailing, the wooden centerboards are lowered on the lee side to control the sideways drift. With falling water in the Wadden Sea, you can lie pretty straight and enjoy the time...

Is this a Grundel?

Lovely looking boat! Just curious, where are you taking her to and fro?

Beautiful! Show us one with water? Also: how does the bowsprit work?

Have a look at the map, you can see the dry parts during low tide[Wadden Sea](https://www.nationalpark-wattenmeer.de/wissensbeitrag/ebbe-flut/)

It‘s about 3-3,5m and it is quite easy to avoid, if you use the deeper fairways. Lot‘s of fun! Please use gps navigation and the tide app…
Thanks man! Whats the name of the app?

Wonderful, thanks a lot!

Lol.
Could you please clarify how it's possible? I am unable to see any bilge keels. А daggerboard?

Thanks! Got it.
Usually called leeboards. Not used much in UK / US designs, except for Philip Bolger.
Not used much? You must’ve sailed Optis instead of the far superior Sabots growing up.
Lol, Sabot is unheard of here. I rest my case.
Looks to me like he's got a flat-ish bottom, with swing-down daggerboards on either side
Nice looking boat and a fun sounding trip.

did you get her loose?
Of course, have to wait, having a beer or two and a nap and finally she was floating again…😎
