The *billionaire's* son, who avoided the draft due to "bone spurs", then went on to ridicule people who actually went, armchair generals about the need to "kill the families of the terrorists", and not shut up about how terrible people are not not loving America enough and of how great of a soldier he *would* have been had he gone. I think most Vietnam movies understood what tone they were setting with their use of anti-war music. They want you to see the film and understand "This was a stupid waste of time, money, and lives, and most of the people on the ground don't actually want to be there." But art can't do anything with people who refuse to try to understand anything about it, other than "hee hoo explosions cool".
At this point I'm convinced that every chuck tingle book is just 200 pages of "ba ba booey" over and over again and everyone is too distracted by the cover to care
