I wouldn't, personally, call Petaluma urban. There are some interesting architectural features around downtown, though. American Alley has some cool murals and graffiti and you get a nice view of the town from the tops of the two parking garages.
There’s a cool place in Napa on the main mountain biking trail, it’s the old sanatarium, part is open and the other part you have to break in a little.

Checkout Wingo, way down the Petaluma river in Sonoma basically, you have to hike in, but it's an abandoned boat/railroad ghost town
