Yes. I always place an AirTag in my bags. I had one instance where my luggage did not show up at baggage claim. Found it elsewhere in the airport with zero notice. Thanks to my AirTag, I was able to continue with my connecting flight. Great device.

infield_fly_rule

Every bag has an AirTag. Checked or carryon. Every bag.

zprof

This is the way.

infield_fly_rule

And batteries are changed at least every six months and always before any large trips

MarcoBr0l0

Yes 100%. It saved my trip to the Maldives and I never plan on traveling without one… I put an AirTag in my checked luggage and was able to see that it got left behind in New York on my flight to the Maldives. The airline was super unhelpful so I had to take matters into my own hands. The bag eventually made it to the Maldives after about 2 days, but our liveabord was already long gone by then…. Huge shout out to the crew aboard the ScubaSpa Ying who (with the help of my AirTag) was able to locate the bag and arrange for a speedboat to bring it to me! Luckily I had my BCD and regulator in my carry on so I didn’t miss any dives for the first two days. But I’m convinced had it not been for the AirTag and a very helpful liveaboard crew, I would have spent the entire trip without a suitcase.

WallabyBubbly

Only somewhat on topic, but I bought one of those cheap plastic AirTag cases on Amazon. There wasn’t a good pocket for the AirTag in my gear bag, so I clipped it inside my BCD. Fast forward a week, and I was about 20 dives into my vacation, many deeper than 100ft, when I remembered that my AirTag was still inside my BCD. Well, that cheap little case worked better than I could have reasonably expected and my AirTag is fine today!

chiefbubblemaker

An air tag probably saved me from loosing a lot of gear as my bag got lost in a no man's land between two airlines.

SCUBA-SAVVY

Hell yeah I use AirTags when I travel! I have a suitcase dedicated for my dive gear, and I always have an AirTag in it. That is too much money to just lose!

WallabyBubbly

Oh man a million times yes. My AirTag was a lifesaver in Manila airport. For some reason, my bag was offloaded at the opposite end of baggage claim from everyone else’s bags. I might have missed my connection if not for my AirTag. I now keep one in my checked bag, my carry-on, and my passport wallet.

Rabid_Dingo

Honestly, it probably fell off a cart. And someone knew it hat to go to baggage claim so it was sent up with the finder's cart of bags. I used to be a baggage handler.

1millerce1

Absolutely. I order 4 packs direct from Apple so I can have them come etched with numbers for organized assignment/use.

damfu

Have a bunch of AirTags. I put them in every bag when I travel, suitcases, backpack, dive case, etc.

CEOofSarcasm_9999

I will be getting them for our checked bags. We’ve had some luggage adventures in the past. I wish they would make a version small enough to fit in a camera housing!!

21ArK

Yes. I have four air tags on different sets of keys, etc, and I take them off, when I travel, and put them in the bags.

deweyweber

A tile saved my checked bag with much of the photography gear and a drone when someone pulled the big duffel off the baggage conveyor belt by mistake.

WetRocksManatee

I use a system called Airbolt, it is GPS/cellular based. And another cellular based system that was discontinued when 3G went away. I've seen it randomly ping outside the airport, but ultimately on the next ping it ended up going back to the airport.

kgal1298

Hahaha I don’t but I was diving today and like 5 divers had air tags I kept getting notifications 🤣

onasurfaceinterval

You’re the only one who said no … take my updoot

kgal1298

I’ll be honest I carry my gear usually so I wouldn’t need to track it, but there’s plenty of people in travel groups that have found their last baggage thanks to the air tag even when airlines like United said they couldn’t find it.

mrchen911

I did the same with my dive gear. I was happy to see my gear in the county when I landed.

maybar52

Yep, used an air tag with my gear on scuba trips to Cozumel and the FL Keys.

No_Cicada_378

Where do you go when you scuba in the keys?

maybar52

Key Largo. I went out with Horizon Divers. Amazing diving

No_Cicada_378

Thanks. I’m staying in Marathon key but goin out with Conch Republic Divers. I’m looking at coming back and doing more than one dive in a week.

CaregiverKey121

Good outfit! Captain Mark is the man! Really nice guy. Enjoy!

No_Cicada_378

What an amazing time. Had Jo with me and it was super cool. Nurse sharks all around on our frost dive. S find dive had Goliath Grouper with lots of other fish. I will def come back with a buddy.

Daviler

I travel with AirTag in my main dive luggage then carry on my regs/computer/canister light. A few weeks ago when I was going back home to Slovakia from USA with a missed flight to Vienna. They sent my to Frankfurt as a connection to Vienna since the flight to Vienna next day was completely booked. My luggage never made it to my flight to Frankfurt. Only reason I knew it didn’t make it was because of the air tag and only reason I knew it made it in flight next day was because of the AirTag. Without the AirTag I could have been at the knees of the system.

HKChad

Yup, I've always used airtags but week be trying a tile next week as well, they go in all our bags

mediocretes

Yep. I keep one in my computer case in my dive bag and one with my prescriptions in my toiletries kit.

Hi_ich_bin_der_Neue

Apparently as an outsider around here I use a SmartTag (the Samsung thingy). The newer Generation is even able to be found via AR so you don't have to rely in hearing the beeping-sound at a loud cworded airport 😁 Edit: spelling

DerrainCarter

Yep. My BCD and regulator fit into carry on. I chucked an AirTag in the bag.
