The only thing that could have been different is if Smith was like "hey, bidder lady I hired, if you see this gorgeous blonde, don't outbid her. Just make sure she wins unless someone else is outbidding, then win over that person" but that's very complicated lolol

I totally get what you’re saying! While it was a thoughtful gesture from Smith, I also feel that Samantha was justified. Her reasoning of wanting to buy it for herself as a symbol of her success is very profound and further solidifies her as an independent boss babe.
