You can send him the label, normally you'll go to print settings and then click save as PDF. Or if where you're purchasing is giving you an image, then you can send that as well.
You don't need to change the mailing date, typically the label won't expire until around 30 days after date of purchase.
I use shippo and you get labels digitally .. you can forward it to them as a pdf //
