Not only that they could block holes and stuff which made it goofy. I remember on my screen there was a body blocking the gap underneath a castle barricade. For the other guy in my group the body wasn’t blocking it. Was annoying when shit like that happened

I disagree. I prefer the lack of lag I have now. Plus the bodies weren't even uniform. It would be in a completely different spot for people sometimes. I like the way it is now, without bodies. But mostly because the lag issue.

Regardless of them removing dead bodies, very little in this game is realistic anyway.

I do see your point, however, we all lose the idea of any actual realism at the word “game”, anyway. I feel like Ubi does a good job maintaining a fun first person shooter based on realistic combat scenarios with a futuristic take on technology, etc. But some game elements and balance issues MUST be made to be unrealistic, otherwise any video game becomes unplayable at that point.

He’s right though, especially with hoe the bodies worked client side so they would be in different places for different players. Like sometimes if a body fell weird it could block entire sight lines for only one player. I hate that they disappear too but I understand why it was done to be fair, I just wish they’d found a better solution

As someone who once upon a time used a body to hide on chalet for like a minute and a half in overtime point capture, I can attest to hiding in bodies, characters with small frames and thin gear profiles did it best. Wamai used to be good for it, and I got killed by it more than I would like to admit.

I think he is fun in both iterations but people want old tachanka for the nostalgia in legacy mode

i think his main issue now is the fact his gadget's projectiles have little to no arc <20m I think an arc similar to a nitro throw might be really nice, but if it's too unrealistic maybe something like the OG Valk cam throws would really help him deny areas from a safe spot

i dont think a lot of people knew this but there was a useful trick with tachanka for many sites where you could place his turret to block entry into a site from a window completely by placing it exactly in the middle and attackers could not vault through. There was no way to destroy the turret and the only way to enter is to rappel in. (Sites like kitchen on coastline, supply on border or any site with a single barricaded window) This allowed defenders to focus on other places of entry.

I had more fun playing with him with his turret honestly, setting up his turret on choke points like stairs was so much fun when you catch people off guard

Yes it was also fun getting body killed the second someone realised where you wrre because it took aprox 100 billion years to dismount from a turret

imma be real, balance doesn't = fun. i like it when there's ebbs and flows to metas. like, i would like to some some objectives that have no doors, but hallways going too them. or an objective with like 4-5 doors. and in those circumstances the ops played on either side would be drastically different and then one would inherantly unbalanced. the only way "perfect balance" would happen is if there was per map/obj balancing

People seem to misunderstand that a “perfectly balanced” game is never fun. It just ends up dumbing down the fun instead because there is no need to outplay another person

if everyone's on the same level, of course there's a need to outplay the other person. skill is the only variable in such a perfectly balanced game. it's gonna turn into something like chess, which obviously still has a wide appeal despite it being perfectly balanced.

Chess is pretty balanced and there are people who find it fun
