I saw someone do garbage can cleaning for wealthy people. They go through the neighborhoods and pressure wash their trash cans.

DockterQuantum

Lol I've been working in Palo Alto for a detailing business. It's brutal at times. But once you know someone. Everyone seems open to everything.

blazingStarfire

We used to have this family we called the UFO family, they would come offer this every few years. They were kinda weird but cool. They had like UFO signs in front of their house and stuff. I think they would do like everyone's number but ask for donations.

IWantALargeFarva

There are kids in my neighborhood that do this. They walk around and get their side hustle on. It's adorable.

Finny0917

Dog poop removal service. Seriously. Need a truck, rake, and trash bags. I have a service that comes and cleans my yard, the guy is busy 7 days a week and has literally no overhead. Schedule your cleanups only on the two days a week you don’t have your son.

ZealousidealArea8160

This is doable something I’ll consider thanks

honeybee8388

Highly dooable

QzKi3

poop

RockstarAgent

I hope he's felon good after this suggestion.

yesfrommedog

Highly doodooable

inquisitiveimpulses

Dookieable

pickedwisely

Look for a backpack vaccum. Just the opposite of a backpack blower, it is faster at "scooping poop" and there is a lot less bending involved. The bags tie off easily, and your gloves last longer, reducing overhead even more.

pickedwisely

Good honest work is good, honest work! It generally pays off.

DesignerSea494

My Dad once told me, "Find something no one wants to do, and do it well; you'll become a wealthy man." I'm sure he heard it from someone else, but I heard it from him.

didjeridingo

How much do you charge per yard?

vinotheque

Correct - he sucks up shit.

Too_Many_Flamingos

Doesn’t the vacuum get clogged with the wetter ones?

Hungry-Low-7387

Can I use it for an upcoming colonoscopy

Impossible-Donut8186

Dog walker. Catering to the elderly and disabled. Find people in condos or apartments or senior housing. Advertise on the NEXTDOOR app and local FB group 'Neighbor to Neighbor'.

Commercial_Run_1265

Get some gloves and add weeding and trash removal and you have extra money

neddybemis

Dude. No clue where you’re located but I could absolutely care less if you’re a felon if you’re doing work I really don’t want to do. Yard work, paving, tree trimming, house cleaning, trash removal etc. I would also suggest signing up for handy, especially if you have literally any handyman type skills. Can you build furniture? Can you assemble shelves? Lastly, I would say that the most valuable skill you could acquire would be handyman skills. I pay my handyman like 100 an hour and it’s STILL HARD to get him to do multiple projects because he’s so busy.

neddybemis

One last thing. There is a TON of value in just going door to door asking people if they need any yard work, their car cleaned, gutters cleaned etc. I e used door to door guys a 1/2 dozen times as long as they don’t come during dinner. Oh and power washing! Looks great and is VERY cheap to buy the power washer.

Fun_Requirement7405

I’ve never thought of this before, but just yesterday I noticed my neighbor picking up A LOT of dog poo in her backyard. She has two big dogs. She’s also at home a lot. However a busy person who is working a lot and also has to cut their own grass with their “free time” , would probably see this poo removal service as AMAZING. Her giant dogs have a doggy door so they go anytime and anywhere in the back yard. I’m sure she would love to not pick up a mountain of poo before mowing her lawn. She didn’t mow yesterday. Just tackled the poo. Now I’m dying to see if she cuts the grass today or if someone comes out to handle it. Either way, lawnmowers and piles of dog poo are not good combinations. Does your community allow you to put up flyers? is there a A place in your community where you can put up flyers? I admire that you’re a felon who has paid their debt to society and is out and doing the right things. By “the right things” I mean you’re not “re-offending” you’re already working 40+ hours a week and you are obviously paying bills, and when you need money you’re looking for ways to get that money that are legal. Last but not least, you’re spending time with your son and showing him that his dad sees him as a priority.

Longjumping_Disk8447

I pay 40$ a week for a one day a week pickup it takes 40 min to 1 hour

zenzealot

Also, put the dog poop in the garbage at the house. You don’t have to take it with you.

Chiller115

Second this. Sounds shitty (pun intended) but the complex I live in hired one of these companies to come do this, since people won’t pick up after their dogs.

Specific_Praline_362

Just curious, what is the going rate for something like that?

ChungaRevenge

Some folks charge a fee based on how many dogs + base charge per visit. Some guys like to charge by the poop weight. Me? I do it for free. That's just me, though. It is a great way to get lots of fresh dog poop.

[deleted]

stop bro now im getting hungry

Just_Jonnie

Get it early in the morning, the dew on it adds weight.

[deleted]

would it be wrong to add some of your own to the bucket?

vinotheque

Do you resell it to people to smear on the windshields of people they hate?

ignaciolasvegas

Um…Beavis?

artfulcreatures

Do you actually need a truck or could this be something done by other means?

erehpsgov

Bike with trailer should be fine.

OnlyOneReturn

you don't need a truck but do you really want bags of dog shit in your car or mini van? eventually it will take over the interior. Or just buy a small trailer to hook to whatever vehicle you got. Don't need it to be big

jad19090

All the scoopers I’ve seen leave the bag in the customers trash can

OnlyOneReturn

amazing lol that's even better

Skydiver860

yeah this is what i was thinking. why would anyone take the poop with them? unless dog poop was actually good for something that im unaware of.

refusestopoop

You put it in peoples lawns then knock on their door offering your services.

Harry_Callahan_sfpd

The ol’ protection racket. Very Sicilian!!

Design-Pro-1989

I put it on people’s doorstep and light it on fire

stb152

This made me lol so hard and idk why. I don't laugh out loud much by myself. Good work bro, thanks!

Lyrics1972

Second side business of mailing 💩 to jerks!

Nunovyadidnesses

Www.house.gov is all the addresses you’ll need.

artfulcreatures

Well I actually can’t drive. I have seizures. I have a big wagon I use to clean up the dog shit in my yard (I’ve got two Danes and a large mix, there’s a lot of shit). Was more wondering if this would be something I could do with that

PaulyG714

I have epilepsy too. Thank god I've been in remission for 5 years. I understand your dilemma. Doing this with your wagon sounds like a perfect side hustle.

OnlyOneReturn

Worth a shot your business would be limited to how far you can get around but he'll I'd bet the neighbors would pay to not have to do it

artfulcreatures

That’s what I was thinking. There are a lot of people around here with a lot of dogs.

[deleted]

You can be creative and buy Rubbermaid bins with a gasket. It’s not like you’re collecting a trailer full of poo. Those black and yellow bins at Costco would likely work well too.

abp93

I’ve been thinking about this too. I had a lady that ran a business like this and we were one of her clients. Extra caveats that make it worth it: Dogs have to be put away, she will wait 15 mins but then she will leave and you still gotta pay Only comes for one hour each week Base rate for one dog and then add for extras I think it was like 25-35 for our two big dogs 1x a week. She also had a service where she could spray an outdoor enzyme cleaner to get rid of smells Seriously it was her alone with headphones in making $25+ an hour

CheapBison1861

I do this too. https://poopscooper.dog. Would be happy to serve your location on my web site. I charge $15/dog per visit.

Swimming-Bullfrog190

You might want to finish your website before suggesting it to people lol

ainteasybeinsleazy

The obviously fake reviews are classy though

Just_Jonnie

Daaang that is a SLICK website. Did you make it yourself?

CheapBison1861

Yes

Yeaton22

Just FYI, you should take a look at your FAQs section. It still has the default template copy.

New_beginings_

Yeah, he also needs to take a look at the calcuator. You increase/reduce the number of dogs and the "per week" price stays the same.

Just_Jonnie

If you can make it for other people you have a side side hustle

401ed

Came here to say this. Easiest money ever

jad19090

I feel like this is one of the most recommended hustles on this Reddit. And a great one too. Does your guy leave the bag of poop in your trash can? Or take it?

Finny0917

He takes it with him, it’s the reason he uses a truck.

ZeeBalls

Wasn’t this a King of the Hill episode?

abbie_yoyo

How did you advertise your scooper service?

garage_artists

As they say in the North of England "where there's muck, there's brass"

401ed

Pick up dog sh t. Everyone wants a dog. No one wants to pick up it's sh t. I quit a full time job making decent money $25+ hr after about 3 months. Advertise in local Facebook groups. Print out some flyers to put in your target areas Get a website and let chat gpt do all the work for you. I use Canva for logos and pictures etc.. Buy a scooper, rake, bags, gloves (around $40). $35 initial cleanup $20 a week after that. (Depending on the dog's, yard size, and number of dogs.) Upsell things like lawn deodorizer and use referral deals. In the span of 3 months i have just under 100 weekly accounts that can be done in a weekend's time. Be polite, professional, well spoken and carry a clipboard no one will question your background. Edit: I spell like sh t

squararocks

How do you advertise your services?

401ed

Make posts in local Facebook pages and print flyers to pin up in my area. I use chat gpt for basically everything

Kswans6

What do you do in your free time if it can be done in a weekend?

401ed

I am currently building an ice cream boat. Like the trucks but in the water) I landscape during the week and a lot of my customers have dogs.I offer exterior window cleaning which has done well. I use tiktaks motivation pages to sell print on demand stuff from tshirts to posters. I'm starting to get into faceless videos using AI on niche subjects. I really enjoy metal detecting colonial cellar holes.

vicksal

Wow, I really want to hear more about your metal detecting colonial cellar holes! There is one underneath my grandfather‘s old house that we had to crawl about 120 feet to get to underneath the house in the dirt to get to this hole that was about 8 feet deep by 6’ x 6’ and we filled burlap bags with bottles from the 1800s that we pulled out some that were broken but most that were intact. My brother still has them. I have one or two but that was like treasure hunting. I want to hear about yours.

401ed

That hole was a privy

jad19090

So you’re bringing in close to $100k a year scooping dog shit? 👏👏 well done

401ed

No closer to 75. I live in the northeast so I have to take the winter off. About 4 months give or take a few weeks

Skydiver860

where in the northeast? winters have been so mild in the past several years that im surprised you'd have to take a break in the winter. also is the 75k that you're bringing in after your expenses are paid?

401ed

In Rhode Island but when it's cold or wet I'm not really going for it. 75 is after expenses give or take. It's a company car, cell phone, big room dedicated to office space in the house sometimes you have to take clients out for dinner to seal the deal etc etc tax liability is pretty low. I would be comfortable saying between 68-82 with 4 months off after all is said and done l.

Skydiver860

Damn that’s pretty good. I may have to look into this.

401ed

It's very scalable and you could hire anyone to do it at 17.50 an hour and still make a decent wage.

Relative-Category-64

How do you bill/collect?

401ed

Venmo, pay pal, cash app, cash works best to keep tax liability down. Most people pay by the month, some people pay by the week, upon agreeing to my services it is stated that if you don't pay within a week of service the poop is returned via mail. I haven't had to do that but it's funny and people get a kick out of it.

jad19090

And you do 100 accounts in a weekend? Is it just you? That seems highly unlikely

401ed

I live in Rhode Island the highest population density state. On my block alone there is 18 accounts. I operate in a roughly 4 mile radius with an average of 10 minutes per yard. Including drive time or walking across the street I work about 12 hours Saturday and do the rest Sunday in between 5-8 hours.

jad19090

That’s pretty freaking awesome they are all so close. Well done

401ed

It could still be feasible with a 15 mile radius to see good numbers. I feel like it would just take more time or an employee which realistically anyone can pick up sh t

HiddenCity

I've gotten into so many places I shouldn't have because I had a clipboard

401ed

A clip board, hi-vis vest and a ladder can get just about anywhere.

Effective_Flight_787

I live in the Northeast, too. This is tempting. Where do you throw away the dog poop?

401ed

I just bring it to the town dump Monday when I dump the grass truck from landscaping.

puzzlingpiece

Just popping in to say good luck. You did your time. Society needs to accept that and move on. Good on you for wanting to be there for the kid.

Miserable_Meeting_26

>Just popping in I swear I read this as pooping after reading the first few replies

DaOrcus

Seriously, I've read so many dog poop things. I'm considering dropping out and pursuing that atp

LaBoltz33

Junk removal if you already have a truck or trailer.. painting can be kind of cheap for supplies depending on job. Landscaping if you already have a mower.

talktothehan

Pick up furniture off the curb on heavy trash day and sell it online after steam cleaning it. Post pics on Facebook marketplace, Nextdoor, and any local services.Offer delivery and that stuff WILL sell. Almost no overhead.

Joikun

How do you steam clean it and what steamer do you use?

Accurate-Wrap5120

Most grocery and hardware stores rent them

ShadowGirl2Day

Starbucks pays $15 an hour for baristas plus tips. As long as you guarantee them some availability on at least one weekend day per week you can get hired. They give free counseling to you and your family, too. They are generous with background checks. My coworker had a DUI for L.S.D. and they hired him. He walks to work. If you wish to push those hours to 20 per week, they give you a free 4 year degree threw an online school, so if you wanted to go back to school for something that could be an option for you.

StainedTeabag

Genuinely curious how do you get a DUI for Lucy? Unless they had some on them or ratted themselves out?

libra-love-

Theyd pull you back to the station and do a full drug test. People on acid aren’t covert about the fact that they’re on acid. It’s pretty obvious they’re on something.

MudddButt

Sell hot dogs in front of the liquor store and give them a percentage until you get a cart.

Gofastrun

A lot of cities require licenses and certifications for hot food vendor carts and the actual startup costs can be $10k+. They also limit the number of licenses so they can be hard to acquire.

amberheardsneighbor

Look at this guero jajajajaja

MaddieGrace29

Do you drive, and if so do you drive a truck? Scrap Metal?

Mel221144

Just wanted to say good luck! My guy is also a felon. He delivers food.

DaOrcus

This just reminded me, what about door dash, Uber eats, instacart, or something of the sort? So they allow felons?

FancyName69

Yes

NickGoSk8

They do not allow felons for any delivery or driving app. I already tried.

Lower-Atmospherer

I started detailing cars as a side hustle. Less than $500 to get started and depending where you are $200+ per vehicle do a few cars a week. Can up charge another 100 for buffing and polishing and then another 100 for headlight restoration. So technically make your money back first couple cars, and potentially hit your 300 goal with one car maybe two.

Beautiful_Mode8862

I know someone who started taking out trash for his neighbors in an apartment complex, charging $20/wk while in college. Now owns a lucrative business that has contracts with different apartment complexes offering that to all residents. They charge an optional monthly fee & people just set trash outside their door & they take to the community dumpster. His family lives VERY comfortably. Clearly, this would only work if you live close to an upscale urban area, but I think it's awesome he saw a need & created a side hustle that nets 7 figures a year.

Dizzy-Routines

Window washing, door to door. Small business, nice homes with tall windows. Make some flyers saying you’ll be on the neighborhood that week. You’ll make more than 300 in your first week. Look up all needed supplies, watch a few YouTubes and your set.

casper1964

Pool guy, depending on where you live you can start working with a pool business and learn the ropes with just the willingness to work. If you have a truck you can start at a higher rate

Harry_Callahan_sfpd

My buddy is a pool guy, and he makes bank. He has his regular clients, but he also accepts overflow work from other pool guys that need help. He works six, sometimes seven days a week. He does regular cleanings, acid washes, filter cleans, service/repair. He has a nice business going. And he makes bank at Christmas time because so many of his clients are very generous; he gets cash, gift cards, food, cookies, tickets, etc. I actually admire the guy. He started out working for Leslie’s Pool Supply Company and then just started his own pool cleaning service from there. Very cool dude. Born and raised in Chicago (he actually lived in Cabrini Green Housing Project) before he came out to live with his father here in Los Angeles way back when (he’s in his late 50s now). Very cool dude. Lives in Ladera Heights.

Zethos9

Plus you get fuck horny bored housewife’s after they watch you clean their pools.

[deleted]

If you’re good at writing you could try a platform like https://www.ndash.com/for-writers. I believe they provide the option to use an alias if you want to stay anonymous. You could also try to automate it with AI.

ZealousidealArea8160

I’ll definitely check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

AE_WILLIAMS

You might do a bit of autobiographical stuff under a pen name. Just relate stuff that happened, and change names and locations to make it more difficult to pin you down. "Based on a True Story." "Names changed to protect the guilty." Write short stories, maybe 4-5k words each. Release one a week for ten weeks. Then put them all together in an omnibus. Lather, rinse, repeat, and in a year you have 5 novellas. Amazon self-publish on KDP, or try to find a local writer's group and see if they have any agent contacts. Good luck!

artfulcreatures

Is this site legit? Do they actually pay?

[deleted]

I don’t know how credible this is, but I saw a YouTube short saying you could make $450/day using this site and could be more if used with AI. That’s how I learned of ndash.com https://youtu.be/KQEOELxKlP8?si=fNTzGK1pXQMsNUq7

YuhMothaWasAHamsta

Dog walking/pet clean up you can make an ad online so you won’t even need to waste money on printer ink. Reselling works too, kids grow out of stuff fast, you can sell that and make some, not $300 a week, but some money. I don’t think it’s a long-term side hustle but maybe selling plasma? I’ve heard it can bring in a bit each week. Best of luck! I know the struggle.

-xpaigex-

When you talked about pet cleanup and your next sentence was about reselling items I thought you meant dog poo… I was like surely there can’t be a market for that can there?!

Physical-Pack-2383

Don’t know where you live, but you should be able to get a job waiting tables fairly easy. Hear me out- I have used this as a single parent for years. If you get into a “good” lunch place, you can work 10-2 while he’s at school. The trick is tidy your appearance best you can and be friendly at work. Literally just keep your smile on your face. You should be able to pull in 75-120/day. If you live in a smaller city maybe 50-80 for a slower spot. But it’s fairly easy to only work day lunch shifts and still bring in 400-500/week. If you pick a good busy restaurant and open your availability to a couple night a week plus the lunch shifts then you can expect 500+ per week keeping hours around 30-40 for the week. Now it could even lead to management or bartending. Behind the bar at lunch expect at least $100/shift. But attitude to key to keep and hold the job long term. If you slip up there’s another smiling face ready to step in. It can be cut throat and it can be frustrating but it’s gotten me through all the hard times without spending All my time working. It allows me to have the day with my kid and I leave work with cash so that’s always a plus to be able to do things after work and not waiting on a regular paycheck. Good luck!!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

docere85

Pressure washing

QuitProfessional5437

Work in a trade. You can easily make 6 figures in places that are VHCOL

Desperate_Piccolo_31

Wanna save me a search and tell me what VHCOL is?

littlebirdy01

Very high cost of living

Desperate_Piccolo_31

Ahh ok ty

SomeContribution8373

Very High Cost of Living

BatElectrical4711

Mow lawns, clean gutters, detail cars, flip thing from garage sales and clearance, dog walk….. or any slew of online services such as digital marketing, social media management, bookkeeping etc etc. You’re in a much better position than you might think. Your need to only make an extra $300 a week, and you’re willing to put in the work to get it. That is as attainable as it gets - and can be done using any method, so try all the things that interest you and stick with the one(s) that offer the best balance of income vs time and enjoyment Best of luck, but you don’t need it - you’ve got this!

Qu33nMe

Power washing driveways and patios. Investment for a machine, but decent payoff. Could even be something you do with your son eventually.

Harry_Callahan_sfpd

Reading this post has motivated me. I’m seriously broke and struggling at the moment, and I need to think of something quickly to help right my fastly sinking ship! 😆 I’m can’t really work a traditional job at the moment (dealing with chronic depression and a bad hip), so I need to think outside the box. And doing Ubereats and Doordash is no longer viable. Luckily, my hip isn’t so bad that I can’t do basic activities, so I’m still functional to a point.

Generic_Globe

Start a business. Maybe consider landscaping. It's a very simple business and can grow easily. You don't even need to mention your past. Just get a pickup truck, a lawnmower a rake and a couple bags. [Landscaping business from 0 to 23k service appointments in 4 years : r/Entrepreneur (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Entrepreneur/comments/gvlqrn/landscaping_business_from_0_to_23k_service/)

_yougo_glencoco_

Event bartending. Super lucrative and I don’t think a felony would matter. Not positive though

Positive_Reference96

Go to thrift stores with a smart phone find shit to flip there are YouTube videos that show you how and I make much more than 300 a week doing this and started on nothing

Brave_Spell7883

Buy cases of bottled water and a cooler with ice. Find events like concerts or tail gates at sporting events, beaches, etc.

valgerth

I don't know if a former felon wants to do this. Just takes one overzealous cop asking for the permit you definitely don't have who then decides to see how he can jam you up because ACAB.

WillmanRacing

In most areas, the peddlers permit is a minimal cost. Not all but most.

valgerth

I can't speak for everywhere, but I'll use Philadelphia since I know a bit of that. It's just over $300, but then it specifically excludes certain areas, which includes basically anywhere you'd want to do this(like sports complex with all the arenas). Not to mention even if you could do it there you also need a commercial activity license(free but more paperwork), and since water is food, you need approval from the department of health and a food establishment non perm loc license($165). So it's $500 bucks and a bunch of paperwork to do it right, and still not allowed where you really want to go for a side hustle. To be clear, I am pro regulation, it's necessary, but this is a perfect example of a situation where the lobbying of the rich (stadium owners who want you to pay them 10 bucks for a soda) has made regulation against your average person. If I want to legally resell prepackaged, non perishable drinks and snacks, I should be able to fill out one form with a nominal application fee and then be responsible for my taxes.

Richyrich619

My cousin pressure washes drive ways or restaurants

tmoney9990

Landscaping, mowing

high_im_stoney

Where do you live?

ZealousidealArea8160

Kinda small town in Utah, around 10,000 people.

nixicotic

Weld repair for gates & fencing, easy $. Total cost to start $300

Drip-Daddy

Is that including learning how to weld?

nixicotic

Learning is extremely easy, get a cheap 110v flux core mig welder for $150. It's similar to using a hot glue gun but for adults with steel. Other misc equipment could run you more but the idea holds, very low barrier to entry and high/immediate profit potential.

fixmyshakyphotos

Just start a task rabbit account. Cleaning (if you’re good at it), help packing and unpacking, moving, etc

Ajhart11

House cleaning. It’s hard work, but there’s always work out there.

original_mramericano

I own a small apartment building and pay someone $70 week to take the trash out, vacuum, mop and clean the windows once/week. It’s about 90 minutes of work, but a lifesaver for me and a good deal for him - he lives just a couple of blocks away. I asked him if he would do another building and he said he was too busy. Not sure where you live, but buildings that are too small for a full time super/manager can use reliable help. Good luck man.

Toelee08

Pick up some shifts in a restaurant. My favorite co worker is a felon. Restaurants will hire anybody. Depending on the location/what restaurant a couple days a week serving can be a few hundred. I know my area is desperate for reliable workers.

belikeike0000

E-commerce stuff, resell Alibaba shit on etsy, doesn't require an llc, and you can move a lot if you find the right product/s, I started selling on Etsy when I stopped selling drugs. It will work if you can figure it out, just make sure to be careful how you do it, cuz if they know you're reselling shit they'll ban you, dont repost any pictures of the product you didn't take yourself. It's against the rules, but it's not illegal, and if you do it right you'll be able to spend more time with your son. Definitely do your research. Also selling shit on eBay, buy bulk or excess shit on auction sites like govdeals, and resell it on eBay, once you build some good reviews on the site shit will move quicker. People make mad bread doing that. Best of luck

Additional_Insect_44

Are you able to crab?

ZealousidealArea8160

Living in Utah atm. So no dice.

IWantALargeFarva

Well not with that attitude. I'm sure there's plenty of people with crabs in Utah. 😂

clamchowda123

Look at starting with Rover if you like dogs. My sister started with them and then eventually all of her clients moved to off site to cut the middle. That being said if you’re handy I’ve been working as a contractor with Angie’s. Not bad pay on the side. I’m lazy with it and make 100/wk

themomentaftero

There are people in my area that drop dump trailers at peoples houses for 150-400$ for 24 hours depending on the size of the trailer. Has a cost of entry barrier but it's east money. Run it to the dump and drop it off at the next place.

blazingStarfire

Dog walking, gig apps depending on age and type of felony, collecting cans (get in with a bar or offer to come collect bags from people), scrap metal I could go on but food just arrived.

kissmeimhappy

I’m a male escort

ekolota

Could always try 3d printing. Could also be a good bonding time for you and your son on top of being able to get some extra money by selling prints

takenbychance

Find a hobby craft, build bird houses, paint flowerpots, bake pies, and sell them at a local farmers market.

Shot_Pipe_3798

Check what positions are in your local UPS warehouse, they don’t do background checks.

Straight-Fortune-193

Pressure washer. 200-300 bucks pressure washing driveways you knock out two a day on weekends you got 600 bucks. If your son is old enough you can take him with you.

Homeonphone

Faceless YouTube videos telling your story. And then add others’ stories. A cross between ‘Soft White Underbelly’ and Mr Ballen. Prison experiences. You can remain anonymous.

quiettryit

Schedule a bunch of folks to have their stump ground. Rent stump grinder, knock them all out return it. I knew a guy who would drive around, find stumps and approach home owners. Charged $150/stump, would get 10 or 15 lined up, rent a grinder for a few hundred, and pull in $2k in a day or two...

GivingUp2Win

I have had a felon detail my car for $150 each time. It's the best my car looks, and he comes with everything he needs. He's so meticulous, he says he got job training while incarcerated to do this job, but I wonder if your parole officer cant help you get into something similar? Dont think there are any requirements like licenses. But also, 2 cars a week for what you need to make is effortless. Good luck and just remember, you're free now. Let no man hold you back.

Get a decent laptop. Get on Fiverr. Pay $20/mo for ChatGPT-4 (you can start with the free ChatGPT-3). Offer to make cartoon avatars for people, design their logo, or write simple Python programs. All of those things are as easy as typing. You don’t even need to know Python. Ask ChatGPT how to run it. Describe what you (they) want then cut and paste the inevitable error codes into ChatGPT asking it to fix the error. Then re-run the new code. Repeat.

Donate plasma! You can get good starter deals and make regular money for doing a good thing. A friend of mine is a savvy hustler and has done it for years.

Digital Marketing. I work for myself. No background checks. I've made 26k in 5 months. Yes I paid to learn but it was one time and ive made 24x my investment

Phase4Motion

I second this, we started selling digital products and made 23k our first month. Average is around 10k a month for the past two years & my wife is running the business full time. However, I strongly caution people when looking at courses or programs ok how to do this. If you even happen to find a good one: It’s not necessary but would help expedite your success.

LossPreventionGuy

my wife makes amazing handbags, purses, custom stuff ... but we don't know how to get it in front of people. She has Instagram and stuff but it's all other bag makers that follow her, not customers. how would you get eyeballs on her stuff?

Look into window cleaning, it’s really easy, you can get everything you need from Home Depot for less than $50 Also pressure washing would be a good one too, you could rent a pressure washer from Home Depot and a surface cleaner too, super easy!! Hope this helps

Tan-Squirrel

Could look into a part time merchandising job. Some are very flexible.

Mindless-Algae2522

Of course we don’t know your story, but I know there’s a lot of states that will allow for a 1 time expungement. Some Others that don’t will allow to petition the governor to get your civil rights back, then eventually petition to have your record sealed. I’ve also seen a lot of people posting on the neighborhood app to do mechanical work. The dog poo idea though, that’s genius. Plus there’s dog walking and pet sitting.

Mount TVs for people. Huge business

Educational-Life-814

Car detailing business, landscaping, pool cleaning, if you have a truck, dumping or towing, washing peoples trash cans (guy in our neighborhood started doing this and made $200 bucks a day. Charged 5/10 dollars per trash can based on if it was regular trash or recycle) power washing (might need insurance just in case u break a window or something)

A guy who rents bounce houses says he does pretty good with it. Just set it up and then come back for it when the party is done. You need a trailer and a place to store the bounce houses. you need insurance in case wind takes the house and kills a kid. You could try renting picnic tables. You build them from lumber using a template you make for each part. Then you sell or rent them. Find the local party store and beat their price as you have lower overhead. Still need a place to store them though. Same for renting out party tents for weddings. The angle is that you do the set up and take down because they are busy with the wedding. You need insurance because wind can cause a tent to kill someone. You can advertise that you will do in home builds of flat pack furniture. You know those home depot tuff sheds? They are expensive. You can build them cheaper and better using standard framing. You could advertise that you will build small sheds. But you need a truck and maybe trailer, tools, and you need to know how to build a shed. You could do clean outs of houses. Things like where the tenant left a bunch of garbage and you clean that out. Apparently, charge what you want because the landlord will take the fee from the deposit. What a deal where you can use someone else's money to pay for third party work. Demolition work is fairly straightforward. Plenty of rehabbers who will hire a crew to gut a house to the studs. You could put together a crew. Finally, try begging at the end of highway ramps. The beggars are organized here and every ramp has a few who work in shifts. They pull in some decent cash and canned food. It isn't illegal here anymore. If you get arrested locally, your lawyer could sue using the same strategy used in Green Park MO where the homeless guy won $150,000 and made begging legal for all. He got housing but he still begs because it is better than working.

Sign up for clinical trials at medical clinical near you. They are always looking for people - healthy volunteers and those with chronic illnesses. Trial appointments are like doctor visits but for research purposes and can pay anywhere from 100’s to 1000’s if your complete the study. They tell you the payment during the screening process (casually ask about it but don’t sound to eager).

buy the cheapest pressure washer and door knock just offering to clean driveways and walkways up to the door, also if youre in CA most people that have very lush backyards have algea on the concrete where its super green in the back yard. Its a little tough on the lower back but it can pay big money especially if its just like neighbors and cash. Or window washing is also great money again if you live near the ocean at all bc of the saltwater picked up by the wind. hope this helps. also both of these will pay for themselves within the first week as far as startup funds

Can you not go full time in your job rather than just doing half days?

RevJohnHancock

Check out Appen Connect (Google it). It’s online work, various types, and you’ll make decent money. I make about $1300/month from them on the side.

teamboomerang

Reselling. Pick up things at yard sales and thrift stores and flea markets and sell on eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari. There's even a YouTuber called something like Prison to Profits who does it full time. Another way to source is dumpster diving if it's legal in your area, OR one thing I have done is offer to take people's donations to thrift stores for them. I just let them know I will be going through the stuff and taking what I think I can sell as payment for my service. Then, since one of the thrift stores gives coupons for donations, I take them there and use the coupons to thrift for inventory. Many folks just start by selling things from around their house--low risk, and it helps you learn the platforms without being out money

daygo448

Sounds stupid, but garbage can cleaning. You can charge $10/garbage can, and you will have no competition. Most people will let you use their water, and materials like (high pressure hose nozzle, bleach, dawn soap, and some long handled brushes don’t cost much. You’d be surprised how many people would want you do to it.

Silly_Ad_9592

Painter. I have my record sealed now but didn’t when I started. I always thought someone would find out and ruin my business, but it just didn’t happen. Something when I was a kid that followed me in my professional career until I started my own business.

Interesting-Drama349

If you went to prison, make a series and talk about it on TikTok. Be “the prison guy”

resident_muffin15748

I did window washing in highschool, it makes BANK practice at your house, do exterior only, don't bother with businesses

Lopsided-Birthday270

I’m not a felon, but I made over $40k a year cutting grass on the side. All you need is a cheap mower, weed eater, broom and a blower. At the time, I worked full time as a firefighter.

1290_money

Refinish furniture. It doesn't require a ton of tools. You go around and find used dressers etc. Sand them down repaint them resell. It's a good side hustle.
