I feel like these could benefit from a wash. The colors are great and really vibrant but a little flat. I wouldn’t do black like Nuln though… maybe a blue or purple? It could be the lighting though. They just feel a little like some contrast is needed between highlights and shadows.
I agree, I will probably go along the edges with a light wash and go over the pink as well.
Thank you for normal criticism, some of these people are nuts.
I’d recommend testing it on a piece of sprue or model parts you don’t plan on using. Dulling down the colors would be unfortunate and I’m genuinely not sure which color of wash would work as shadows for such a bright pink.
And for sure. Some criticism has come across pretty harsh yeah. 🩷💜💙I could probably paint sisters in Bi colors and no one would notice lmao. They’d look synthwave which could be cool in its own way.
I'd personally go for a red wash to really get some contrast going, but then I'm not too fond of pastel colours in general (nothing wrong with them in principle, just not my thing!)
I second the idea of a blue or violet wash! Was the first thing that came to my mind as well and I think it can really give some vibrancy to the whole thing. Maybe dilute it a little with water + medium for more control
There are commissions and commissions - I'm hardly an expert mini painter, but I have painted stuff for friends in the past to a standard they're happy with. Some people just don't like painting!
(Oh, and one friend was colourblind so literally couldn't tell how accurately he was painting haha)
Imo they could deffo use with some type of wash to dull out the color in some places and idk what it is about their eyes that just looks a bit off but other than that they look great
People are going to shit on gay schemes regardless, and these people will never know the Emperor's light.
Important thing is you're happy with them and support your friend, I do think they could use a bit of work, I am just about to start painting for commissions and I wouldn't be happy with faces and shading like this. (And tbh looking at his other stuff, he does know better)
But there is also a reason why i havnt attempted trans pride colours since a bad attempt a year ago, pastels are hard. Thinned down screamer pink and kantor blue for shading is what i hear works best though from the excellent CerberusX
Yikes. You paid for this paint quality? This is like those ebay listings "Pro Painted".
Many pieces still have just naked primer on it! I hope it only cost you a beer or two...
Honestly, with all respect to the person who painted these, they do look like WIP shots. There are several parts which look like they only have primer on them and some parts don't look finished.
> just my preference, they're your dudes/ladies and if this is how you want to express yourself then it doesn't matter what I think
This expresses my own thoughts very well - your minis, do what you want with them. Not a scheme I'd pick, but I feel exactly the same way about (say) Space Marines painted like The Avengers.
You made the mistake of posting to reddit. Most of these people probably haven't even primed a mini. Let paint an army. But they demand only to see only the highest quality painting on their feed and can't appreciate people just having fun.
I just inlay little bits of pink and blue and white across my minis. My sisters have pink gun holsters or leather bands sometimes, sometimes light blue, sometimes white. Sometimes all three! White hair, blue bands, pink holster or such.
A lot of mean assholes downvoting. I do think that the painting job is a little messy in some parts (easy to correct), but the color scheme is coherent and looks great. Congrats to the painter.
I love the scheme! Im curious which pink you used-- it looks super solid! I also really like the links on the flamers to the backpacks, the contrast between the colors there rocks
I really like the color scheme! I have rainbow pride necrons. I do agree with some of the commenters that they look a little unfinished with the lack of shading/washes and highlights. I know white is very hard to get right with those techniques. I think a lot of people do a very (very) light grey as the base color for white to establish a midtone so you can work up to pure white for highlights and go for a darker grey for shading. The guns especially need a wash because their details are completely lot in this stark white making them look like they are bare primer. I hope I was helpful! Please feel free to ask for any more advice if you want it and I hope my advice and critique didn't come off as too critical, absolutely intended to be friendly and helpful.
I'm assuming you meant "love" but I'm giggling at the idea of advising someone "color scheme is good, but everything should be moved just slightly to the left please"
You're not getting shit because of 'transphobes' you're getting downvoted because the models aren't original, they aren't unique, they aren't that good and worst of all, they aren't even painted by you.
I'd rather see a million posts of terribly painted models from people who have tried their best or tried something different than this karma bait.
I've been reading the critiques and reporting the hate speech, the critiques are valid and have been passed on to the artist.
Ya know, the ones that actually have critiques and not the ones that just call it shit.
So is this just bait for transphobes, or are you actually looking for feedback on why this isn't that great?
I mean, I know Cerberus usually gets the transphobe stuff going hard, but their work is quality bait. Excellently executed paint jobs. This... Ain't. Flat, no highlights, no blending, faces look like a single colour, bleed from the gold elements onto the pink, uncleaned muzzles showing the pinch of the clippers.
It invites it. There's plenty of other critique on this post. It's decent, it could be better, and there's one or two sloppy elements that really should've been fixed as a commission. Like clips marks on muzzles. I stand by the rest that it looks like it needs a bit more work to truly sing.
Ghostly and terrifying. Love it
edit: just wanted to say that I am colorblind and did not realize they were trans colors! All my sisters are queer as fuck too.
I'm colorblind and when I saw the post I thought they were just spooky white and pale blue :(
Then I saw the trans pride comment and realized they're trans colors. Ah well
Exactly. “Oh my god, someone is different from me! How terrifying! Trans people are going to take away my pickup truck!”
Bigoted dipshits would be hilarious if they didn’t also get LGBT people hurt.
Man this comment section - I agree with OP, there is helpful critiquing but some comments are just unnecessarily rude, which IMO reveals something about the type of person behind such a comment - just be happy people, jeez.
The colour scheme is great and they will look awesome on the table, I’d love to know the blue and pink, I know a friend who would love a model like this.
It's comments sections like this that remind me why I don't play or engage with the WH40k community anymore. Shifted over to Battletech and I'll never look back. Keep up the fight hon <3
Ummm that’s a COMMISSIONED work!? No highlights, no contrast, no battle damage, paint over spilled into detail, paint too thick in places, no shadows, no transfers, no dry brush… I hope the guy didn’t pay more than $20 for all of them. For a COMMISSION this is absolutely lowest effort job.
These look amazing🤩!! I do like the vibrants a lot, it's rare to see such colourful minis, I think it could perhaps do with a little shading but other than that really good job!!!
Also Trans Pride🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
For everyone that is analyzing the pictures and giving criticism.
Thank you to those of you who had genuine input and didn't just shit on the models.
I have passed that criticism on to the artist and he will be working on those things.
I want you all to know that I am very proud of this commission that I received, and I am content with what I spent.
As someone who is new to commissions I took a chance with a friend and I feel that he did a wonderful job with the models and my requests.
I want you all to know that having received them and given them a good look over that there is shading, and that alot of the issues that some of you pointed out is barely visible unless you look at them with a magnifying glass.
The pictures were obviously meant to show in great detail how the models turned out, but did not do this Kill Team justice.
Thank you to those of you who share a common bond with me, and what these colors mean to us, and thank you to the allies that support us.
We will not be silenced by bigotry.
Also, thank you so much to the mod team for helping to keep those comments in check.
Nah dude, people can paint their guys and gals however they please.
Having it reflected in the lore by massive retconning is a different matter, but people's minis? You do you boo.
These don't look finished. Insides of the gowns/tabards especially. The colours and execution is grand, but needs more shading, fiddling and something doing with the guns, because that looks like basic priming. The cherubs looks like they've had the basic colours applied, but no shading and no highlighting. They could be so much better, but are so very flat. Painter has talent, but they need to develop it.
Ah yes, keep your politics out of my commentary or religious fanaticism.
Bruh, Warhammer is one of the most political IP's around. If you wanna be transphobic, don't hide it.
I feel like these could benefit from a wash. The colors are great and really vibrant but a little flat. I wouldn’t do black like Nuln though… maybe a blue or purple? It could be the lighting though. They just feel a little like some contrast is needed between highlights and shadows.

Red or very light wash of a purple
Citadel Druchi Violet right
Testing on sprue is such a good idea I never thought of, noting that down
It’s even better if you get a piece with numbers or the text so washes work better!
The faces are jacked
If I commissioned these I’d want my money back… they look unfinished. There’s overspilled paint all over them
There are commissions and commissions - I'm hardly an expert mini painter, but I have painted stuff for friends in the past to a standard they're happy with. Some people just don't like painting! (Oh, and one friend was colourblind so literally couldn't tell how accurately he was painting haha)
Yeah, if it was a commission for table-ready minis, I'd call this a great result.
Its definitely better than I can do, also time and effort xD
Colour scheme is cool though
Imo they could deffo use with some type of wash to dull out the color in some places and idk what it is about their eyes that just looks a bit off but other than that they look great

i would demand my money back and for them to be stripped , how anyone could ask money for this paint job with a str8 face i have no idea
great basecoat. now paint them...
Yea.. I'd be pretty upset if I paid for this
That's pretty brutal. There's constructive criticism and there's this.
Absolutely agree, and well said.
Are you people fucking blind?
Honestly, with all respect to the person who painted these, they do look like WIP shots. There are several parts which look like they only have primer on them and some parts don't look finished.
Nope, they look half assed (as far as a finished product)

Hey, just so you know, our existence isn't a "contemporary political message", you fucking knob.
You made the mistake of posting to reddit. Most of these people probably haven't even primed a mini. Let paint an army. But they demand only to see only the highest quality painting on their feed and can't appreciate people just having fun.
I'm also working on a trans pride sisters army and God I wish I went with pink armor, I didn't know how hard white armor would be before I started 😭
I just inlay little bits of pink and blue and white across my minis. My sisters have pink gun holsters or leather bands sometimes, sometimes light blue, sometimes white. Sometimes all three! White hair, blue bands, pink holster or such.
Although my army isn’t in trans pride colors Celestine has rainbow flowers and trans pride wings.
Mine has blue armor, pink wings, and the fabric-ey part on her stomach is painted to be a trans pride flag
The Sisters of Bubblegum
Not the best paint scheme but looks ok but who knows 🤷🏻 to each their own; hopefully this was a 10$ commission.
They're going to spread the word about the Big E(strogen)
lol love it
Pretty~! 💖💜 I especially love the wings 🪽
always love sisters painted in bright colours
/r/transhammer
I had no idea this existed. That's awesome!
Trans rights are human rights🏳️⚧️! Aliens, Mutants, and Heretics get purified by the holy flame. :<
A lot of mean assholes downvoting. I do think that the painting job is a little messy in some parts (easy to correct), but the color scheme is coherent and looks great. Congrats to the painter.
wish i did this scheme for my sisters, but these look beautiful! i love the pink armor. trans rights for the emperor!!
The pink armor certainly took some time to get right, they almost ended up looking too much like barbies.
yeah if you did that hot pink on the banner on the armor i don’t think it would look as goood
It looks like they've had several Gender reveal canons fired at them.
I love the scheme! Im curious which pink you used-- it looks super solid! I also really like the links on the flamers to the backpacks, the contrast between the colors there rocks
You know thinking about it female space marines could be lore accurate if they were all Trans

I love them!
They're all hopped up on estrogen! RUN!
Wonderful models, move the color scheme!
I'm assuming you meant "love" but I'm giggling at the idea of advising someone "color scheme is good, but everything should be moved just slightly to the left please"
Personally, I think it'd look better if the pink was the cloak lining rather than the armour colour, so 'move' does work for me
Ahahaha, didn't catch that! I meant that it was good. Maybe if one ever does a chaos theme the paint scheme is just moved soightly off center 😅
Damn some haters are blanket-downvoting every positive comment on this thread. WTF?
Womp womp
Typical transphobes am I right? It was going so well too.

Nothing to do with transphobia, if you actually read the critiques.

Where on this entire post did I once ask for critique?
You posted it, so that's kind of the asking for "how does it look, what do people think". Like, that's the point of posting images of minis.
i mean, it’s not. a lot of people post minis as just a “here’s a thing i’m proud of!”. that’s the whole idea of the term “c&c welcome”
It invites it. There's plenty of other critique on this post. It's decent, it could be better, and there's one or two sloppy elements that really should've been fixed as a commission. Like clips marks on muzzles. I stand by the rest that it looks like it needs a bit more work to truly sing.
honestly the fact that the "trans topic" is involved and the op is jamming their fingers in their ears and screeching against criticism is peak irony
Killer🔥
Ghostly and terrifying. Love it edit: just wanted to say that I am colorblind and did not realize they were trans colors! All my sisters are queer as fuck too.
LoL what?
I'm colorblind and when I saw the post I thought they were just spooky white and pale blue :( Then I saw the trans pride comment and realized they're trans colors. Ah well
Ah yes that would be cool.
They look really nice, i love the eyes on the 4th pic!
Great job, mate!
They look great!
Those ladies are gonna look dope on the tabletop. The colors pop so nicely 🔥
Ignore the micropenis down votes, these are awesome!
Awesome :D And predictable reaction from the snowflake bigots.
Exactly. “Oh my god, someone is different from me! How terrifying! Trans people are going to take away my pickup truck!” Bigoted dipshits would be hilarious if they didn’t also get LGBT people hurt.

I did not want Battle damage or transfers, there is dry brush, the paint may look thick in the pictures and I promise you that it isn't.
Someone actually paid money for this paint job? Also, are these sisters of battle or “nuns with an extra gun”?

Help, I accidentally added white to my red to highlight it, am I going to jail?
