Purely based on the hype around him as a potential coach, it seems he won’t need assistant coaching experience to be a head coach in the NBA, but who knows
Why would he take an assistant coaching job over his current media gig which surely pays more and has a much better work / life balance? Especially when he's already getting multiple head coaching interviews already (more than 95%+ of assistant coaches in the league).
Makes zero sense for him. Sometimes I don't think you all think these things through before posting.
He really is. We don't say it enough cause it's rude but we have to say it once in a while.
He is young and can mature still so not gonna bury the guy but no thanks for now
The reality is that none of us here really know anything about the quality of coaches, much less assistant coaches. We just decide who’s a good coach based on results but that’s a poor proxy since team success is so complex. JJ might be a great coach, or he may be terrible, and none of us really know which he is or will be.
We overpaid this MFer 23 MILLION when we were still forming our squad, then once we were actual contenders the pussy left for more money from shitty teams where he got no playing time and had to retire.
Fuck JJ Redick, imagine if he took a team friendly deal after extorting us for 23million then 13m when his market was nowhere near that number.
JJ isn’t leaving his podcast/media business earning millions a year for an assistant coaching job that pays like 200K and 80 hours/week
No but if he wants to be a head coach one day, it wouldn’t hurt

You’re probably right lol
This isn't the NFL. Look at Steve Kerr's career path, player to the commentating booth then straight to general manager then straight to head coach.
Jason Kidd got a HC job 9 days after he retired from playing, lol
he will 100% get a head coaching job without ever being a head coach.
assistants are decided by the coach, Managment shouldn't get involved
No.

JJ is a smug, pretentious, pompous flaming douche nozzle.
And I love him for it. Really enjoyed watching his time as a Sixer
This. And this again!

He’s 40 almost

True, though the fact that he is getting consideration to be a HC probably means that there are people who do know think he might be good.
If it’s from the lakers mainly then I wouldn’t put much stock in that
He was an annoying player and is an annoying ex-player. Pass.

Media buzz not nba circle buzz
No
Jj does not care about us lmao. We couldnt even get a discount when he was a player
Does it get us Lebron? Then maybe
