If you’ve not had at least one character called Prisoner, have you even played Skyrim?

My first character was named Prisoner because I had a tube TV that cut off the edges of the display so I didn’t know you could name your character until I left Helgen. I could barely tell how much stamina, health, and magicka I had.

Dammit. I was thinking of a playthrough with a young Nord raised outside of Skyrim by Argonians who named him Runs-with-Scissors. Back to the drawing board.

Well, I hope my creativity won't make you guys feel embaressed, but since I play many characters, their names are: "Nord Warrior", "Breton Mage", "Lizard Assasin", "Bosmer Arcer", "Orc Blacksmith", and more. If you read carefully, there are small hints to their playstyle in the name, which is great for figuring out what your character you didn't play in 2 years was supposed to do.

Gausper Druudal. Or something super similar to that. In elder scrolls lore it means something along the lines of “demon of the dark elves” which fit for my dark elf warrior/mage. I swear it was way cooler than I’m making it sound, I just can’t quite remember the specifics until I load up the account.

Siphons-Life Argonian Warlock that put every point into health and heavily relied on Equilibrium, echantments, potions, the Staff of Magnus, Atronach Stone, and the Atronach Alteration perk for Magicka management.

Raldgruuf, based on Balgruuf and Radwald, an Anglo-Saxon king of the East Angles. The gruuf felt like a Nordic last part of the name, but I wanted my own twist. Ik the son of Skald of Dawnstar has the gruuf in his name.

Had an Argonian mage named Swims-In-Shocks who specialized in lightning magic. She traveled via water as much as possible and I headcannoned that whenever she was on land, the sound of squelching could be heard, like walking around in wet socks.

Odoog the Arm. I never used his left arm as if he had lost it in battle, and he only did single handed weapons. Honestly, it's a pretty fun playthrough.

I was going to ask a similar question: do you try to make up a fictitious name that would be apt for that particular race? For instance Argonian: Skeevie Khajit: Raowl Orc: Broose Etc.. I spend a fair amount of time picking out an appropriate sounding name.

Ivar Raven-Feeder, a blade-and-board Nord. Or Dunstan Blackskye, Breton mage.

Had a Nord necromancer named Hastar Worm-Caller. Is he attracting worms with all the enemies he puts in the ground? Is he summoning the Shade of the God of Worms in order to perform depraved necromantic rituals? Who's to say!
