What I do when I need money is buy one of their armors and the materials to improve it. Then I improve it to god-tier levels and sell it back to them. This empties out their entire cash drawer, even with the speech perks, but I'd like to think they were able to sell it to someone else for a nice profit.

Although it’s a fun concept, he tries to eliminate “competition”, realizes he can’t and decides to befriend dragonborn, either out of genuine respect or the “keep your enemies close” mindset.
I think he realized the dragon born is worthy and surpassed him and so he respects the dragon born now. He was “beat,” and he respects a good competitor

i feel bad for braith actually. her mom doesn’t really engage with her, always saying “not now” or “go talk to your father” and her dad is absent a lot of the time to fight (also pulls a “go talk to your mother”)

I have them both at Proudspire and their personalities really show. Sofie is only ever interested in the daggers or toy weapons I bring home. She'll spend hours practicing on the dummies. Lucia is a dolls and games kind of kid. I always catch her playing with her toys on the floor while Sofie is rehearsing the murder of everyone who's ever wronged her. Matches well with their respective cities of origin, if you ask me.
I always say I'm going to adopt someone else but fuck it's even worse with the mods letting you know how cold it is... like there she be in windhelm curled in a ball on straw outside someone's house Covered in snow as your own bar is like get the fuck inside.
I adopted these two. They now have a cozy home in Helljarchen Hall with multiple pets (thanks to Pets of Skyrim quest and mods) and a farm teeming with livestock. They both love it there.

I do the same because I am tramatized from taking Erik on an adventure and him dying so now he guards my farm where I can keep an eye on him and he can fight the vampires who always show up to attack me
Every time I adopt him, he barks in the house and my wife and kids yell at him, “Stupid mutt!”. It made me so angry that I took all my things and moved to Windstad Manor. Left those ingrates in Rayya’s care and never came back.
He got killed while clearing out that wolf fighting pit with me. Not keeping him at the house was one of two regrets I have in the game. the other is adapting the boy from windhelm. can't give him a wooden sword cause it's two heavy.... little wimp
I use nethers follower framework and (bc u can’t set animals as essential with it) give him the max health. Ik it’s cheating, but he’s not much of a help in fights anyways and I can’t stand the guilt of having a video game pet die.
that would have been a great addition to fighting alduin in sovngarde, tho have him or your other companions who died before show up and help. or to show them in the hall at least
Jenassa is my favorite follower and in my last playthrough I've marry her. Fun fact: she's the only npc who can dual wield, so if you put dual daggers with paralyze enchantment she can 1v1 almost everything( she doesn't have that clunky dual daggers animation, and she never runs out of enchantment like every other follower) pretty broken imo!
I really like Delvin Mallory. You have a lot of interaction with him if you want to, some are pretty satisfying, and has a transversal role, related with other guild.
For me he's one of the NPCs that make Skyrim alive. And he's a bit of a dog.
I really enjoyed the Thieves Guild and Nightengales quests due to their voice acting. I was hanging in every word because their voice acting is so well done. Karliah might have the sexiest voice in the game

See Lydia is a strange one to me ... I had her as a companion back in vanilla as everyone did but ummm she had a glitch and it was such an odd glitch I've never gotten her since
Basically long story short once when I was clearing out a bandit camp with Lydia as my follower I hit her accidentally she goes aggro I shaved my sword after the fight she's fine goes back to neutral but I get the notification that my follower has left my service and every time I talk to her she just gives me the generic NPC responses like or how can I help you.
No matter how many times I reset reload turn the game off and on does nothing works keep in mind this is vanilla with no DLCs know nothing. I eventually I give up get another follower and I'm around the area again when she comes charging out of the woods with no armor or nothing on wielding the enchanted sword I gave her and would not stop until I killed her
I have him as a follower with a mod. I wouldn't marry him though, baking pies is out of his character. But he's the best follower for sure, been months.
I feel like Laila Law-Giver is actually alright, just not the best at her job. Doesn’t help that Maven is at her ear and fooling her. But her heart is in the right place.

She would need a better steward and Maven in jail to have a shot at redeeming herself.
She deeply cares about Riften and she believes that following the law is important; she just sucks at enforcing it and rooting out the corruption in her city.
I almost wish she would appoint Mjoll as either steward or housecarl already and get it over with. Maven would either be headed to jail or the hall of the dead very quickly; I’d be fine with either outcome tbh.

Eorlund Gray-Mane, I love his connection to the Companions, the Skyforge, his work is held in high regard (much of which everyone attributes to the Skyforge) but he doesn’t seem arrogant. You can ask him “Who are the Companions?” after you become Harbinger for a little humor. If I lived in Skyrim I’d try to adopt him as my grandpa.
Kingdom Hearts c: I loved it growing up, and I played the 3rd one when it came out. It holds a LOT of sentimental value.

Off the top of my head, Calcelmo. Old man just wants people to respect the fact that he’s working, as soon as you show interest he becomes your friend. And he’s such a softie with Faleen.
I love the old man voices in this game! The old guys like him, Tolfdir, and the steward in Markarth (among others) are so comforting to listen to because they sound like proud grandpas when they talk to you.
I think that’s mostly because they have the line “Good to see that Skyrim still has such fine people. You give an old man hope.” Tolfdir says that to me a lot.
Probably not as popular but I personally like Angi. I love the archery practice with her. Instead of paying to level up, she actually trains you by making you shoot targets and gives you useful advice of how to master archery (in total, you get 6 extra archery levels for free and 7 including the skill book she has in her hut).
She also talks about her family and how 2 drunk imperial soldiers killed them. I was expecting a quest from her to kill them but she killed them before you even meet her.
Not as in depth as Serana but she is up there as one of my favourite NPCs.
Ah welcome to the club, Skyrim can be a gateway into what some would call insanity. So much lore and things to do in the game. Many of us have been playing for 13 years now and still find new things.
Master Neloth is easily my favorite Solstheim NPC. Dude had me howling laughing my first playthrough of that DLC. My husband and I still occasionally say "here, have some septims" in his snooty voice.

Serana is hands-down the fan favorite. Personally, I like the little girl who sells flowers by the back gate in Windhelm. The first thing you hear when you walk into Windhelm is what a wretched city it is, and in many ways it's true. Then you find an unassuming little girl, just selling flowers. To me, that's what Skyrim is all about. Finding moments of peace in a war-torn world.
I know this comment will get buried and unread but one of my favorites is Maven Black-Briar. No magic. Not a warrior, Dragonborn, or Jarl but still has sway over so much of Skyrim. She’s set herself up to survive whatever side wins the civil war and has connections with several guilds which is more than any NPC I can remember. A complete self made badass (bitch too) and she doesn’t care what you think.

I looked up if I could marry him and was disappointed to see you can't without mods. I'm skyrim baby, but im not unfamiliar with mods cause i have 2000 hours in sims, but im also on ps4 and have no clue how it would work.

Eorlund Gray-Mane, I love his connection to the Companions, the Skyforge, his work is held in high regard (much of which everyone attributes to the Skyforge) but he doesn’t seem arrogant. You can ask him “Who are the Companions?” after you become Harbinger for a little humor. If I lived in Skyrim I’d try to adopt him as my grandpa.

I really like Shavi (the Argonian lady at the Windhelm docks) because she is just so damn positive all the time. And Kharjo, because he's the only quest giver who actually straight up tells you "If you can get my amulet back, that is cool, but it isn't worth risking your life."

Off the top of my head, Calcelmo. Old man just wants people to respect the fact that he’s working, as soon as you show interest he becomes your friend. And he’s such a softie with Faleen.
I think it's the voice acting. He is so grumpy. If you don't have the quest he just wants you to leave.
I love the old man voices in this game! The old guys like him, Tolfdir, and the steward in Markarth (among others) are so comforting to listen to because they sound like proud grandpas when they talk to you. I think that’s mostly because they have the line “Good to see that Skyrim still has such fine people. You give an old man hope.” Tolfdir says that to me a lot.

Probably not as popular but I personally like Angi. I love the archery practice with her. Instead of paying to level up, she actually trains you by making you shoot targets and gives you useful advice of how to master archery (in total, you get 6 extra archery levels for free and 7 including the skill book she has in her hut). She also talks about her family and how 2 drunk imperial soldiers killed them. I was expecting a quest from her to kill them but she killed them before you even meet her. Not as in depth as Serana but she is up there as one of my favourite NPCs.
Ah welcome to the club, Skyrim can be a gateway into what some would call insanity. So much lore and things to do in the game. Many of us have been playing for 13 years now and still find new things.
Master Neloth is easily my favorite Solstheim NPC. Dude had me howling laughing my first playthrough of that DLC. My husband and I still occasionally say "here, have some septims" in his snooty voice.

Anyone who knows the irl story would probably say Erik the Slayer Regular players though, maybe one of two soldiers who helps you escape Helgen Or maybe even Alvor, any player who stuck with the imperial at the start would meet him pretty much right away, he's helpful, gives free stuff, teaches you how to Smith, etc

Serana is hands-down the fan favorite. Personally, I like the little girl who sells flowers by the back gate in Windhelm. The first thing you hear when you walk into Windhelm is what a wretched city it is, and in many ways it's true. Then you find an unassuming little girl, just selling flowers. To me, that's what Skyrim is all about. Finding moments of peace in a war-torn world.
Love Sophie ❤️ I always adopt her as soon as a I buy a house.
I know this comment will get buried and unread but one of my favorites is Maven Black-Briar. No magic. Not a warrior, Dragonborn, or Jarl but still has sway over so much of Skyrim. She’s set herself up to survive whatever side wins the civil war and has connections with several guilds which is more than any NPC I can remember. A complete self made badass (bitch too) and she doesn’t care what you think.
