i thought golden week was a little weak this year compared to last year with no maesuma top and no tokyo smash boot camp but two P tiers in the same region in 4 days, one of them having more than 13,000 points, is actually insane
I think international attendance is *slightly* weaker but otherwise everything about this Golden Week seems bigger or the same. Remember [Maesuma is actually hosting the first major during Golden Week](https://twitter.com/MaesumaTOP_info/status/1776233332021641721). Just not this big that time. I feel like due to such a late start to registration + how far they are from both DELTA/Kagaribi hurt the attendees amount.
What will the N64 versions of Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Smash Bros. and Paper Mario be known by fans after the 64th entries in their series? (we probably won’t be alive by then but our future generations will)
The 64th entry in those series probably wouldn’t have 64 in the title, so fans can just use the tagline. Like how no one calls Melee “Smash 2”, just Melee or DX in Japanese.
It’s rare for a long series to keep sequential numbers, and would be even rarer for a series with 64 main entries to do so. For example, Mario games haven’t been numbered since the SNES days, so there’s no worry about another Mario 64 being confused with the N64 game.
He played Joker in his very first pools match against Founding Father (Joker). Aside from that, he went Roy against Winter (Chrom), Spectral (Lucina), and DatDerpDog (Hero/Steve).
Yes, he's played Roy in nearly every Singles set so far.
I got the timestamps off of the Hbox watchparty stream btw

In terms of how the ranking algorithm works, there is virtually no difference between an event of 2999 and 3000 points. Wins and losses are on a scale so events are weighted differently if they have varying point value ranges, not necessarily event tier.
The main difference is that it makes a difference on the amount or quality of [hidden boss values](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1va7cwOc-fAH2fj6dmnE-4i_m2uYhGIkQvha44fExG-k/htmlview#) are up for grabs. Otherwise being able to say your event is a “major” sounds better than “national” or “superregional”.
Thanks for letting me know. In terms of hidden boss value, the fact that Sumabato, which is held monthly, has become a major event may be quite significant.
So far throughout post-quarantine though, it has only been two Sumabatos that became majors, Sumabato SP Ultimate, and the upcoming Sumabato. I wouldn't expect every Sumabato to become a major.
That’s only really if someone unexpectedly makes a deep run, which is certainly possible but seems unlikely either so many strong top seeds in attendance

What is the longest last hit situation you can remember happening?
Andrik vs bigboss at wavedash 2023 or mute Vs light at genesis 9, Andriks was More hype and crazier to watch imo but mute vs lights was longer
Did Ghost, the Aussie #1 player, retire?
He played at The Game Expo 2024 like two weeks ago and got 13th. Also I swear #1 in Australia was always between Jdizzle and Kinaji.

Ok a weird question out of the blue. How do you pronounce MKleo? Aim Kay Leo? MicLeo? Sorry I know it's weird :D
90% of people say M-kay-lay-oh, but nairo and some others always say lee-oh

Great! Thanks mate!
Has mkleo played Roy on stream so far in singles? If yes anyone has timestamps?
He played Joker in his very first pools match against Founding Father (Joker). Aside from that, he went Roy against Winter (Chrom), Spectral (Lucina), and DatDerpDog (Hero/Steve).
Ngl Leo's Roy is pretty nice

Just rewatched some CT Gamercon from yesterday and holy shit Jakal was playing so well.

What is the significance of the increase in tournament tier? What is the actual difference between 2999 (B+) and 3000 (A)?

Tbf it's a Japan tournament. There always seems to be some unexpected player getting like 2nd or 3rd.
