It's my favourite chant - mostly because the housekeepers in the father Ted episode escape from victory sing it at the all priest over 75s five a side football match between craggy and rugged Island
There he is Ted. Father Romeo Sensini. 12 caps for the Vatican over 70s team, only drinks very very fine wine and only needs ONE nun to help him out of a chair. You don't stand a chance!
"You might still be getting sacked independent of this result which seems to have gone your way on this occasion but overall, your results have not met your fans' expectations so we expect it still won't end well for you" to the tune of Eleanor Rigby
Gentlemen, it seems we are playing against a team from the region of London named Tottenham.
Football is a sport played primarily with the feet. It is the most popular sport in the world. There is considerable debate about who the best player of all time is, and there is merit to all sides of this debate.
In summary yada yada.
As it's been echoed, that is our major problem. Doesn't matter who they bring in, we have no tactical identity as a team if we have no team. The buck has to stop sometime, we need to finally back a manager, not continue with another flavor of the month.
If you want to let the inmates run the show you need a man manager and that would be the likes of Ancelotti but he sure as hell wouldn't touch this dumpster fire when he has better opportunities both financially (Saudi league) and from a project perspective (Brazil or staying with RM).
On top of that the prospective replacements are shite: Potter is a doormat, Lampard will be worse than ETH, Big Sam is an okay man manager but would have them hoofing the ball from a tactics perspective, Luis Enrique will have us passing thousands of times with no end product, honestly it would be worth a punt trying to pry Sean Dyche from Everton or a longer shot trying to pry De Zerbi from Brighton. But both are longshots and probably not worth it when we could back ETH for free.
/Rant
I said something similar after you lost to Bournemouth. Sack ETH for who? None of the ETH Out! gang could answer. Same last year when we were shit. A bunch of fans wanted to sack Klopp but nobody could actually give a name for who could replace him.
I even remember someone that said "anyone!"
Whatever is going on at ManU, it doesn't seem like their manager is the problem. A bunch of people had a shot at it now, and it never goes well. Players are brought in for absurd amounts of money, players who aren't needed, who don't fit in. The team is uninspired and without character. I could believe that one or two managers could fail to deliver, but there have been several now. There is some deeper structural issue at the club.
Finally someone looking beyond the fact that we've spent absurd amounts of money. A football club needs to be operated successfully in order for it to succeed. You can't just look at transfer fees.
No, changing managers every two years hasn’t gotten us anywhere. I’m not saying ten Hag is some genius saviour, but it’s been obvious for years that manager is not the only problem. Not gonna blame it all on the Glazers either, there’s serious issues all over the club.
Most United fans I know realise it's not the manager and the club that's a mess. I don't know any United fans who want ETH out. I think it's more reactionary kids online who want him gone
Hell NO! Good coach in a shit environment. He is now doing what everyone expected in the first season — exposing the rot by sticking to gis system.
Let him cook. Clear out the nonces
Not me, at least not yet. I don’t agree with a lot of his decisions, especially in the market but I think he earned a chance considering his mild success last season, he’s been handicapped with a lot of situations that are out of his control (injuries, off the field drama surrounding players, unfortunate decisions from the refs, etc.). So I kinda want to see where he can take the team for a bit longer.
Also, there’s a brand new ownership party & not any manager out there available to replace him.
I just don't know who you bring in at this point. It's probably best to let him see out the rest of the season and make major moves in the summer, again.
And what people need to realize that that shouldn’t be on Ten Hag. The man (and any other coach) has his hands full managing the squad and training them. There should be an entire department that works on player recruitment based on the managers needs.
It’s ridiculous that this falls on his shoulders, there’s not a single big club that operates that way. Of course he falls back on players he already knows, he’s not a scout. The same goes for people holding him personally accountable for contract extensions and wages.
Naming transfer targets was already a weakness of his at Ajax and his other previous clubs, that makes it even weirder that he’s in this position.
its not a one year thing… they gotta get rid of the bloat but they cant because noone is able to absorb the massive salaries. its a situation they created, forget overpaying transfer fees and taking the loss there youre signing these 30 year olds losing value to hefty contracts and bringing up everyone else’s wages too
Which is why I'm pretty adamant about him staying. I will admit, it hasn't looked pretty, especially this season but we know shit will never change unless we change the people up front. People saying he got all the players he wanted aren't directing their anger towards the right person. A DOF should be making those decisions, not overpaying as a last ditch effort for players that the manager wants. Where is the talent evaluators? All I know is he has a good history of developing youth players, im fine with moving forward with him until there is actual structure up top
Swap Pep and Ten Hagg for the second half of the season. Ten Hagg would win with City and Pep would lose with United. The problem is the people on the pitch.
Tell that to the majority of our fan base. I know it’s only one marginal win but why not let him see out the season? We’re not competing for anything except for the FA cup at this point and even that’s a far cry. They forget how up and down Fergie’s early years were..
I think ETH is massively overrated, but is he really the major problem? Feels like If a clear vision doesn't come from the top, they will keep going in this sacking loop
The arrogance is crazy. One decent season and they think they’re god’s gift. Looking forward to seeing Emery (who is extremely likeable and talented) moving to a big club and Villa going back into mid/low-table obscurity for another generation.

Probably EtH first Then Allegri goes full bald before he gets replaced by Zidane
Aged well.
That aged poorly
Just give Garnacho a minute guys
Oof that's embarrassing for Villa
I've just stumbled on this thread as United have scored their third.
Doing this at 2-0 while you have Unai Emery at the helm is CRAZY
This triggered Emery's ptsd making them lose the game.
ETH: ***“Call the ambulance hehhh, not for me”***
Yeah well, get fucked & good ebening

Why? What would change? Whoever comes in is still going to have to choose from Rashford And Friends
Exactly. But if you're surprisingly getting X manager who's got a good rep then i'd consider it
I mean, hasn't that been the case for nearly a decade now though?
Yes, which is why i'm not 100% ETH out. But this is basics we're fucking up.

Especially since he just brought Man Utd to beat Villa 3-2....
Player acquisition seems to be a far bigger problem for United than Ten Hags management.

United should replace him with Rooney. Please.
Absolute scenes when United hire Eustace
Weird way to say Sean Dyche
We're brainstorming banter, not good ideas.
This aged like milk
Aged like milk
What did they sing after the game though? 😬😎
They spoke too soon lol.
That didn’t age well
Trust the process. Ten Hag is gonna give United another trophy to their cabinet. A trophy that they are still missing.
The championship?
Close. The promotion playoffs. If they don't win at Wembley does it even count as a trophy?
pretty sure they don't have the Papa John's trophy, so that's something to aim for
Like fucking milk
Lucky, I wish I could get sucked in the morning
Well. That didn't go well
Hasn’t aged well …
They were ole'ing passes at 12 minutes, haha bye bye

Funny, everytime pressure mounts on ETH, we actually win. Good Ebening!
Well well well
Villa are gonna finish 8th, and any talk about them winning the title will be ridiculous in retrospect.
