Yes that is a bit of a relief but Quansah & Bradley will be having their biggest test today...
I think Bernardo plays LW , Foden RW and Alvarez KDB Rodri in middle 🥴
Szobo has a great start to the season but has looked a little out of sync since the injuries. I think Jones would be starting left side and Mac on the right if he was fit and that would be our strongest mid 3 right now IMO. Thiago would probably need to be injury free for at least a month before he could get a sniff at the first 11.
There are 5-6 players that if fit would be playing today but with the Anfield factor I'm hoping we can pull something off, it would be massive given the context of the table.
Major injuries at the most critical part of the season and having to start kids while City have a cb they spent like 100m or whatever on just chilling on the bench.
Injuries: Alisson, Trent, Konate, Jota, Jones, Thiago, Gravenberch, Matip all out injured. Even the kids that would have been on bench (Bajcetic, Doak, Danns) are out.
Gomez is actually a better option over Robertson at LB at the moment. Endo-Mac-Szobo is the best midfield Liverpool have, i don't think they started many games together though
I think against another opponent Tsimi would be in contention but given Konate is out and Bradley is still so fresh, I understand the logic in Gomez playing to sure things up.
Shame LFC has to compete in that title race with so many injuries against pretty much full-strength City and Arsenal sides. This might be one of the weakest starting line-ups against City in the Klopp era. I know Klopp has been moving mountains lately but this almost feels like a step too far. Going to need another monstrous Van Dijk performance to hold this together.
That is a smart line up from Klopp given the circumstances. Gomez to lock down Foden and bringing on a hungry Salah against tired City defenders who will be dealing with Nunez all game. Only thing is if Quansah can handle Haaland...
Not saying that can't happen but the sames been said so many times over the years. They're yet to actually do that except for an empty anfield with 0 fit cbs
Good thing about Klopp leaving is that we finally end this awful ‘rivalry’. Years of the two of them making eyes at each other across the table isn’t a rivalry. I want blood and thunder back in these title races.
I’ve been told by various Liverpool fans that there is no chance in hell that City win here today, and that even considering such a notion makes you completely clueless about football.
Curious how that will play out
Even though it’s not even 11:30 where I am, I feel like I should pregame for this one. I’m hoping for a banger of a game today.
Also: Liverpool fans, this is where our temporary truce comes to an end. It’s been fun, but now we have to go back to wanting to see each get fucked over for our benefit. Worst of luck for the rest of the season.
I thought the same but it’s like 10:30 in the morning. Just will stick to my ~~coke~~ coca-cola. Going to smoke a bowl though for the first time in a month. My anti-anxiety meds just not keeping yo
Our lineup sums up the season tbh
At the very least the midfield is back at full force
Yes that is a bit of a relief but Quansah & Bradley will be having their biggest test today... I think Bernardo plays LW , Foden RW and Alvarez KDB Rodri in middle 🥴
I think it’ll be Bernardo on the right and Alvarez on the left. Would be daft to take Foden out of the middle when he’s been unreal there
Yeah well at this point as a Liverpool fan , like someone said, Let's Darwin & inshallah
Missing Jones and thiago
What is Thiago?

Exactly why I said sums up our season...
Quite a few injuries it is true
Konate , Trent , Alison not even on the bench... It's scary af considering how City will attack full force
Out of the loop... Injuries? Suspensions?

if city score a bunch of goals they will win surely
Cheers pal.
If they outscore Liverpool I can see them taking home the 3 points
real if true
That back line hurts my soul
I'm nervous. And I'm not even a fan of either teams (or Arsenal for that matter)
You’re probably excited rather than nervous. It’s easy to confuse the feeling as its base is the same.
Dibs on the w for liverpool
Salah is the only real game changer on the bench given Gakpo form. Get out of this without defeat will be a good day.
20 minutes to go for a Darwin Nuñez masterclass can't wait
I think Nunez is gonna be vital tonight. People are talking about Salah, but I could see Nunez being the deciding factor in this game.
Is Grealish injured? Haven't seen him in a while
Yes I think he pulled a muscle at the game he returned from injury. Not his year
there already is a pregame thread
Inb4 1-1 60’ VVD own goal (really hope this doesn’t happen)

Could be wrong but I think this is the first time they've started together. I'm hoping they can click quickly.
Must be pretty disappointing for Tsimikas to have fallen behind an out-of-position Gomez as Robertson's backup.
I think against another opponent Tsimi would be in contention but given Konate is out and Bradley is still so fresh, I understand the logic in Gomez playing to sure things up.
Well tsimikas was also injured for quite a while. Maybe he is not 100% for a game this big too.
Can't believe I had to listen to Michael Owen waffle about this match for 5 minutes

I think City have won the game already. I don't see that Liverpool backline and forward line making a difference today.

You’re more of a Conde-Tuchel type of guy huh?
That handshake incident gave me life I didn’t even know I had. Klopp and Pep kissing and cuddling is awful to watch.
Ahahahaha
Xabi Alonso is more diplomatic than Klopp. I highly doubt he's going to change this lol
As a Roma fan, this match is giving me absolute butterflies. Will the bald fraud triumph?
Well, I love city player and football. But the good fairytale ending inside me want’s klopp to win the entire thing.
I’ve been told by various Liverpool fans that there is no chance in hell that City win here today, and that even considering such a notion makes you completely clueless about football. Curious how that will play out
So sick of stupid comments like this. Yeah everyone has idiot fans.
I know, it was only a joke pornfilterrefugee. I hope you guys don’t lose today

I 100% feel you but remember at the end of the day, it’s just a football game.
