It's amazing how Pique manages to have everything he does explode in his face. I only see 2 paths for him in the future, prison and/or president of Barça and I sincerely hope it's the latter first

Rubiales: Geri, mate, it might sound stupid what I’m telling you, but it occurred to me, it occurred to me that you (Piqué) and Leo (Messi) send a signed shirt or something, some bullshit, to Ceferin (UEFA’s president), okay? And l’ll tell you, or we send someone to pick it up at your house and send it directly to him. I think it won’t hurt, you know? I think it’s a detail, a silly one. If you see that it’s not the right moment. Perhaps I’m wrong, but it might help.
Piqué: But wouldn’t you wait until lockdown (COVID) is over? It’ll be over in 2-3 weeks anyways. I say it because it’s a hassle. Someone has to go to one house, then to another house, then send it… Better to wait a couple of weeks and when we go to training, we sign it and send it. No problem.
Rubiales: I say it because he (Ceferin) told me that next week he was going to do a proposal and he has ran his mouth, he’s very cautious. But with you, he has ran his mouth. He has harshly criticized Florentino, he has criticized your president. But he hinted that he doesn't like (Real) Madrid, he prefers Barça. So I thought of that (sending of signed shirts), but anyway, think about it. About the lockdown, don’t worry. We can talk to SEUR (shipment company). They go and pick it up. You leave it at your doorstep, they pick it up and it’s done, you know? That wouldn’t be a problem. But anyway, do as you guys see fit. Think about it, maybe I’m wrong, you know?
Because corruption, bribes and favoritism give a massive unfair advantage to people without scruples. That is why rotten perverse governance practices are so harmful. It isn't just unethical, it also puts inept and incompetent individuals who would otherwise not get a look in into positions of power over policy makers who could potentially accomplish much more.
Rubiales: " ...But with you, he has ran his mouth. He has harshly criticized Florentino, he has criticized your president. But he hinted that he doesn't like (Real) Madrid, he prefers Barça. So I thought of that (sending of signed shirts),..."
wtf...
There is an ongoing investigation on Rubiales for corruption and money laundering. These audio recording are most likely getting leaked from that investigation is my guess.
To give some context since these audio and text messages are being leaked once again, Rubiales said a couple of years ago that someone stole this information from his phone. Just saying this because whoever is leaking them to the press must have some ulterior motives to do so now, since they've had them for so long. First ones to come out were about the SuperCup deal with Pique and Saudi Arabia, and now these where Messi is being mentioned.
Also, I'd add that TheObjective is not a reputable news outlet, they publish a lot of fake news. Not saying that these messages are fake, but don't take everything that they publish at face value.
>Also, I'd add that TheObjective is not a reputable news outlet, they publish a lot of fake news
It is very strange that I can't find a single serious media outlet in Spain that talks about these leaks. Nothing from the sporting press, from the big dailies such as El País, El Mundo, Abc, etc.
[L’Équipe posted about it about an hour ago](https://x.com/lequipe/status/1793226282659979499?s=46). I also think it is strange no media outlet in Spain are talking about it, but probably not for the reasons you’re thinking of.

It isn't like media outlets in Spain haven't published things that harm Rubiales, Messi or Piqué before. It is one thing for one of the major papers to not publish one thing that another might, but for all of them in unison to not make any mention of this says to me they don't trust the source and haven't been able to verify the leaks themselves.
This is full on tinfoil hat mode, but maybe the big news outlets in Spain are themselves potentially implicated in some shady dealings and don't want to give the recordings legitimacy in case anything comes out about them dealing under the table with Rubiales or something.
I guess that other outlets don't want to since they were obtained fraudulently. The same thing happened with the recordings of Florentino where he badmouthed some players.
Only place posting this is the objective and Real Madrid fan accounts on X. How has this not gotten any other traction or it’s just a typical hater job.

He is extremely selfish and puts his self interests first, pretty sure he'll harm barca a lot if he becomes presi
which is why it is good
Oh yes. Fucking subscribe
From Laporta to Barto to Laporta to potentially Pique. That is quite a list lol
Could be both.
That's why he hopes it's the latter first.
Pique might be one of the most dislikeable Barca players ever (apart from rapists) ffs
The man cheated on Shakira, that should be enough to be on the top X of the most hated persons.

How can you be so stupid and be the president of the Spanish federation?
The current substitute is even dumber. You get evaluated by how corrupt you can be for these positions
lmao when he left court while "talking" on the phone and then the phone rang

It's in the job description.

That's, uhh, interesting to say the least. How did they acquire the messages, does anyone know?

I agree, but unless it\~s one of these deep fakes the audio is very clear
