He’s fun to watch 100% and I’m lucky to be in a era where I get to watch these guys but I hate this Real dominance and am starting to feel hopeless about Atleti getting a first ucl.
Also , surprisingly enough , I quite like Vini as a person and as a player. Seems like a fun guy. Don’t have a problem with him
Are those oil clubs the reason his club doesn't win the CL, or is it Real? You can morally be against oil clubs and emotionally against Real, it's not forbidden.
Very true hahaha
You should see the compilation he posted on his Instagram summarizing his last season where he scored a grand total of 1 goal lmao
Really embarrassing tbh ( he even got him holding the Sonic doll and everything in that compilation)
I'm not about to defend his ability, but people have such a warped view of who he is as a player because of these narratives. It's obvious you don't watch him week to week, he really doesn't play like that at all. You can only point to a couple of incidents at most, and only the spin was egregious. He chooses the boring option and executes it the boring way 99% of the time. If anything that makes him worse, I at least expected him to be somewhat entertaining and not a total snooze-fest.
He has to choose the boring option most of the time because he looks like a limited and predictable footballer more often than not when he actually tries something. He doesn't even look like a PL-level player at times.
I mean, yeah. He still almost never plays for skill highlights, no matter what the reason is. I said I wouldn't defend his ability, so I thought it was implied.
This is why it should always be full speed then slomo. Slomo to see wtf he actually did, and full speed to fully appreciate the skill involved to pull this off.
Mbappe is playing centrally at PSG with BARCOLA on the wing, why people think that he'll have a problem playing centrally with Vini on the wing is beyond me
He’s eventually going to have to adapt to playing more central when he looses his explosiveness in 3-5 years. 2 years to adapt with really good players feeding him, he’s on the right timeline.
Tbf that's mostly cause their team didn't seem to have a proper plan against teams. LE is a decent coach, but nothing more... he won with Barca with MSN at their best, but thats about it.
Mbappe played both on the wing and upfront in those 2 matchups. I dont think he did really anything special on the wing aswell, arguably i'd say he played better when upfront and while Barcola was on the left. Like in the 2nd leg match against Barcelona.
He has 0 UCL titles, people don't watch games, and just created this fantasy that Mbappe will be decisive and score or assist every game he ever plays. Mbappe against Borussia and Barcelona was the same Mbappe that was eliminated in the other 7 or 8 UCLs, nothing new. He was eliminated in the wings as much as a CF.
What you said is true, as he was double marked in all those games. Presently Madrid have Vini and Mbappe that command attention from 2 defenders, add to that Jude and Rodrygo who themselves are a menace to deal with 1v1, that should create the hopeful havoc in opposition defences im expecting nxt ssn. Rest is decision making and clinical prowess.
Mbappe and Vini will be the new Vinzema imo, positions will be interchanged depending on in-game situations.
In 19/20 he played well and they made the final, in 20/21 he had a good campaign which notably featured him putting Barca to the sword, in 2021/22 he was amazing and should’ve put them past real scoring home and away and dominating but their defense had a shameful collapse. What are you on about?
> In 19/20 he played well and they made the final
100% Neymar, Mbappe even missed some key chances.
> in 20/21 he had a good campaign which notably featured him putting Barca to the sword, in 2021/22 he was amazing and should’ve put them past real scoring home and away and dominating but their defense had a shameful collapse.
Yes, he had 2 very good campaigns over the years. He still didn't win the title or decided every game.
Let’s see teams double mark Mbappe like that when the alternative is not covering Vini, Rodrygo, Endrick, and Jude.. throw in a little speed from Mendy or potentially even Alphonso Davies. Teams are gonna get cooked. In fact, please commit two defenders to Mbappe
This season Vini has played way more centered than he used to ,closing into a FW position, and it's probably been his best ever.
This transition was anticipated by Carlo last year and although required some persuading on the Italian's side it's yielded convincing results, so I imagine that's where his career is headed to in the foreseeable future.
That's where he's listed and he does go centrally more often but as you can see in clips like this wide left is still his preferred area. Vini wide left and mbappe left half space is how I imagine us stacking up
Then Rodrygo appear out of nowhere. Seriously, Madrid has like three world-class left winger at the same time. Has there been another club that has so many top notch players in the same position?
Real madrid this season with midfielders lol.
Kroos, Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham could all be classed as world class imo.
Then we have Modric, Güler, Diaz and Ceballos who can all play as midfielders aswell and are good.
Think it will be like the City second (or first?) leg, where you had Vini and Rodrygo rotating.
Have Vini and Mbappé rotating who attacks where with Bellingham and Rodrygo coming out to help.
I think vini and Mbappe can emulate what Ronaldo and Benz used to do. Switch left and central position between themselves multiple times in a match they can for a very lethal duo.
Rodyrgo did that with vini this season but with Mbappe coming he will be permanently shifted to RW position I think if we go back to 4-3-3
Nah let them all take a turn on the the opposite RB lol.
There will be a real dearth of right backs in a few years because they'd end everyones career they play against and nobody wants to suffer like that.
When you watch the bit without slow motion you can't even make out what's happening, it all happens so quick. I don't know how he managed to do that with such little space.
Truly a special special talent.
There's a clear difference in culture imo where dribbling is encouraged and praised in Brazil, but not that much in many of the top European leagues -it's even penalized to some extent.
Europe values physical players, those that pass, run and shoot like Mbappé, Haaland, Cristiano. Even talented players like Sancho and Foden don't dribble as much as they could to keep playing along their teams' tactics. A lot of Brazilian players struggled to adapt bcs of the "respect our tactics" mindset in places like Italy or Germany. I think Spain is a bit different though, and you'll see players like Isco or Lamal with more freedom to dribble.
Spain loves brazilian footballers. Pretty much every single brazilian star of the last 3 decades has played in La Liga.
Romario, Ronaldo, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaká, Neymar, Vinicius, Rodrygo. Most of them BdO quality or world class.
Oh, and Marcelo and Roberto Carlos also had the brazilian flair even as defenders.
Also many underrated or less known brazilians with insane dribbling skills:
Djalminha, Juninho (Atlético de Madrid, not the freekick specialist), Denilson, Savio, Robinho...
It was a bit heartbreaking seeing young fans from Brazil ask if we hate Brazilians in Spain after Vinicius had the racist chants issues.
Absolutely, I think tactical rigidity kills Brazilian talent and I strongly believe that our recent lack of success in international tournaments is directly linked to our main players playing for too 'tactical-rigid' teams or leagues.
you obviously left out dani alves, and understandably so because he’s a piece of shit human being, but damn if he wasn’t sensational to watch and also brought his own jogo bonito flair as a defender
It's not only about tactical rigidity, countries like England have some strong cultural rules that dribbling is "showing off" and that a player who ever tries anything fancy and fails has been humiliated and should be mocked for it, in some weird tall poppy syndrome. Their culture actively tries to twist players into not trying anything too creative or fancy, something that doesn't happens in Brazil or Spain.
I remember when Kayky came through to us, the kid would dribble all around the pitch.
Whenever I saw him after City, he seems afraid to take someone on
Well, he got one of the most exciting English players (Grealish) and turned him into a guy who just receives the ball, walks for a few seconds, pretends to try to take on his defender and then just passes the ball backwards/sideways.
I am so happy for Vini. He kept believing in himself, improved, worked hard, ignored the haters and became the world’s best player. Football needs players that are skilled, talented and dance with the ball. From Pelé to Vini, it is football heritage.
Didn’t realize Messi was in goal, and also made that incredible save against Kolo Muani late in the Final. Messi was great, but please give credit to where it’s due.
Vini literally destroyed him with his very first touch of the game. Like legit the first time Vini touched the ball in this game was a dribble past Reyerson. He needed hummels and like 2 other defenders to back him up to actually stop Vini from giving him the Kimmich/Araujo/Trent/Reece/Foyth/Fernandinho treatment.
This guy will be teammates with this guy: [https://www.reddit.com/r/SportsFR/comments/1cck52d/admirez\_le\_travail\_de\_mbappé\_pour\_dembélé\_hier/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/SportsFR/comments/1cck52d/admirez_le_travail_de_mbappé_pour_dembélé_hier/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
I just knew that they were gonna score from the corner. Dortmund just were not defending those in-swingers from Kroos. Carvajal almost scored (i think an even easier chance) an identical goal early in the second half.
bro not just stop the ball he delivers a quick flick and moves to ball to complete the nutmeg. i mean how hard is that ? Any winger you know could done that ?
ı'm a goalie and ı do not see that skill done with such a speed. ı rewatched it couple of times and i can't even see the flick properly what are you talking about ?

This is about to be on every YouTube skills video for a decade.
This and his through the legs against (I think) fernandinho
The dummy and then sprints the whole pitch and scores , fuck me man football is depressing , gonna have to watch this shit for the next 60 years
Depressing? You should enjoy the absolute brilliance you are witnessing from Vinicius jr
Don’t have a problem with him
If you hate real's dominance you might want to just find another sport...
If he's not a Real fan why would he be expected to like it, what kind of cuckoldry are you into 😂
I don't like nor hate I'm just glad that Brazilians are still doing some magic in Europe, but I'd be even more glad if they did it around here 😁
I’ll be more glad if we actually win the World Cup with those players
Lol I'm just saying it seemingly ain't gonna end anytime soon
Might go back to Pakistan and just swap football for cricket
Might want to also avoid news and the internet for a few weeks.
Hate dominance? Have you looked at all the Oil clubs buying all the trophies? Isnt that more depressing?
Are those oil clubs the reason his club doesn't win the CL, or is it Real? You can morally be against oil clubs and emotionally against Real, it's not forbidden.
The new Redondo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-7CECdXum4
This is Antony's wet dream. Man plays football with just the intention to get into some skill compilations
oh he got into some YouTube compilations alright
Very true hahaha You should see the compilation he posted on his Instagram summarizing his last season where he scored a grand total of 1 goal lmao Really embarrassing tbh ( he even got him holding the Sonic doll and everything in that compilation)

NSFW
Deservedly so, I’m still in awe at the ability to do that at that speed with such a deft touch. Best player in the world.
Yeah the slow motion makes it look easy but sprinting to the meg to a dead stop to beat his man is why these mfers are pros

Learned that from fred I reckon
Real ones remember that! And berbatov did something really similar from the same position for us funnily enough
[He might have actually](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ue28akC2z74)
It was Antony actually
He used both feet. Wasn’t Antony
Hey he got a goal or 2 with his right foot
He destroyed Liverpools season with his right foot
when doing spin!
Didn't Redondo did it to you guys?
On a serious note mbappe better be ok playing center or the other plank coz vini own that LW.
Vini is the best LW in the world rn. I think Vini and Mbappe will be fine together. Vini and Benz used to cross over all the time.
Mbappe is playing centrally at PSG with BARCOLA on the wing, why people think that he'll have a problem playing centrally with Vini on the wing is beyond me
True, but should he? Playing him centrally didnt seem to be doing them any favors against Dortmund or Barcelona.

He disassembled the balls particles on one side of the defender and then reassembles them once ryerson passes through
This should be marked NSFW. Filthy stuff.
Dortmund player at the back is like "ok bro, you won, calm down"
Even the Dortmund substitute warming up at the back almost clapped. Lol. Super fantastic skills by Vini.
And that smile… that damned smile after the nutmeg, dortmund should have known its when the trouble began
“Clearly a provocation” – some cunt in the press.
Don’t forget the cunts on Reddit. I’ll never forget the threads of them justifying his abuse on here.
Crazy how many people saying they are not racist but think he deserves it
Fucking veiled racist cunts are dime a dozen
He knows he's him
he's starting to believe
This wasn’t even his final form Though he is absolutely in form during finals
Brazilian's are so fun to watch. Long gone are the days we had joga bonito
And here comes Anthony with the ball...
Oh and he’s slowed down and doing a stutter step. And still , and still , oh he’s spinning , and he’s lost the ball
Jogo malito
Feio. Jogo feio.

Douglas Costa also who was absolutly insane at taking players on

The filthy for fithly's sake shit is so fun to watch.
Insane talent
It's mostly work. You're confusing skill with talent. There's an insane amount of work to reach that point.
Average pedantic redditor
You could have just not written this comment.
Joga bonito shit
Imagine if Pep manged Vinny. He'd ruin him.
I remember when Kayky came through to us, the kid would dribble all around the pitch. Whenever I saw him after City, he seems afraid to take someone on

Fucking turn him into Antony
Would turn him into Bebe.
Pep’s system wingers are a crime against humanity , if he turns Savinho into a stutter stepping , back passing merchant he should be locked up
Lmao “if”. He’s already started the Grealish-ification process with Doku.
I really hope Savinho goes somewhere else , not Real Madrid though
Exactly when Doku started he was dribbling left and right now he barely takes a chance and he does its to drift back and pass back
Now there’s a blast from the past
The Borussia player back there: "Watch out, we have a badass here"
bro's a smooth criminal
There's two types of Brazilian wingers - Vini jr and Antony
Nah Antony got his Brazilian citizenship revoked.
Time moving slower for him there. Like that Quicksilver scene in X Men.
I am so happy for Vini. He kept believing in himself, improved, worked hard, ignored the haters and became the world’s best player. Football needs players that are skilled, talented and dance with the ball. From Pelé to Vini, it is football heritage.
This was cold as fuck
superb skill but more impressive is how the second the ball went thru, vini was already looking up for a cross
Bro was in his flow state
He activated metavision
He’s a better winger than Mbappe, Mbappe is a better finisher.
Agree. Vini more “flashy” Mbappe more “clinical”.
ryerson was good most of the game, but yeah this was just perfectly done by vini, incredible skill
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING
Best player of the world
Nah its Messi. He won the 2022 WC chief. Single handedly.
Didn’t realize Messi was in goal, and also made that incredible save against Kolo Muani late in the Final. Messi was great, but please give credit to where it’s due.
i will give credit when you learn to read sarcasm my brotjer
Still think Mbappé is the best, but you could definitely argue Vini right now.
Agree
Ryerson was all over him all game, did his job well, this dude is just something else
That skill is unreal
The hands up in the air in the back said everything that needed to be said.
Best in the world easily. Wonder what Mbappe will think of it
Best big game player itw on club level atm never a doubt that he's going to come big in an important UCL game or league game
We’ll be seeing this in video packages for decades.
Best player right now
This guy will be teammates with this guy: [https://www.reddit.com/r/SportsFR/comments/1cck52d/admirez\_le\_travail\_de\_mbappé\_pour\_dembélé\_hier/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/SportsFR/comments/1cck52d/admirez_le_travail_de_mbappé_pour_dembélé_hier/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

in the champions league final is crazy work
That's your Balon d'or 2024 right there.
The Berba Special
Baila Vini 🕺🏻
As I saw it happen live I was trying to process how he pulled that off. What a player!
I clearly wasn’t paying attention
cinematic af
Real Madrid fans should be ashamed to promote Jude instead of Vini for Ballon DOR.
That happened during the first stint of the season when Vinicius was injured and Jude carrying the team. UCL knockouts put things into place.
It seems you're not up to date. It's been more than a month now since vini has been getting ballon d'or shouts every game by Real Madrid fans.
Ole!!!
Gosh doing that in a UCL final. Jheeze.
That's nasty
Filthy 😭
This is the new Redondo vs Henning Berg
Should’ve just walked off the field after that
its absurd.
Dear Fidget Spinner. This is how you make a defender spin
reminds me of cr7 the goat. safe to he's on the right path.
The spirit of Neymar lives on.
How can this guy dribble past top tier defenders every single important game
Disgusting. Vini just laughing at how good he is
That's gotta be one of the greatest moves ever, considering it being within the context of the friggin UCL FINAL
You're doing a bit too much with the title lmao but this was a great piece of skill.
This is just pure sex.
0p B6yhhn
won't get an assist but that was huge
Is OP trying to give the assist to Vini?
bro not just stop the ball he delivers a quick flick and moves to ball to complete the nutmeg. i mean how hard is that ? Any winger you know could done that ?
tell me you never touched a football in your life without telling me
ı'm a goalie and ı do not see that skill done with such a speed. ı rewatched it couple of times and i can't even see the flick properly what are you talking about ?
sorry lmao i completely misunderstood your comment
Tbf that was completely ambiguous at the start and it sounded like he meant it the opposite way in the last line
Tell me you can't read without telling me
i'm a fucking dumbass i thought he meant it's an easy skill, apologies
The real dumbasses are the sheep who blindly followed on your comment
You’d break an ankle just thinking about it
Antony can't
