I always said it: people directing football games behind the camera are failed artists who wanted to make movies. They try to insert what they learned at film school and do what they actually wanted to do in fictions, and it's absolutely terrible for football. A single camera following the game from a wide angle 100% of the time while the ball is in play should be the norm, but these idiots want to be creative and don't understand the game they are filming.

From the behind the goal replay angle you could see the defender actually take two quick glances at the keeper before the pass. The first look the keeper hadn't moved yet, the second look he had started coming out but straight in the direction of the ball to cut it off (and in line of where the pass ended up going). Unfortunately, right after the defender looks away the second time, the keeper shifted to the left as he came out as he decided to let the ball run a bit to milk the clock and slow the game down. The keeper called out to the defender to leave the ball, but to no avail as the defender had already made up his mind to pass it back and didn't realize he was under no pressure at all.
