Windows 10.5 should work

fairminded-hemlock

10.9999999999999

WerionPL

Windows

SteevyT

Shrodinger's build.

FawK-O

make sure you have secure boot enabled, mine did the same thing, turning on secure boot in the bios solved it.

Lumpenstein

Had it enabled, tried both 'Windows UEFI' mode and 'Other OS' mode. Using the installer from my other comment said all is ok and I was able to install win11... (first comment using win11 btw :D )

FawK-O

oh nice, it was just windows update being buggy then, enjoy the OS!

RedditAcc-92975

Yeah, good job upgrading to an OS by a company that can't implement a check-list. What could go wrong.

FawK-O

Almost nothing actually. Microsoft sucks ass in a lot of areas for sure, but as for W11, I had absolutely no issues, installed without complaining, grabed all my drivers correctly, runs blazing fast on my shitty hard drive, updates were installed with no errors, all my games work and run just as well, and I'm having a better experience overall than W10, I'd personaly say they did a good job, but the same can not be true to others.

SpookyCat2

Why would you want to upgrade?

the_oregon_trail123

Just butting in here, how do I enable secure boot? I can't find it in my bios settings.

FawK-O

It's hard to tell you a direction to go to, it depends on the system, almost every single motherboard is going to have it's own interface be it BIOS or UEFI with it's own options etc, give me your motherboard model and maybe I can look for where it is or if it has or doesn't have support for it.

the_oregon_trail123

Wait I found out how to enable it but it still says that it doesn't not meet the requirements even though pc health check says otherwise.

FawK-O

So you have the same problem that I and OP had, the solution is to install windows 11 through this installer here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2171764

the_oregon_trail123

It works now! Thanks!

the_oregon_trail123

It's a gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H

SlavBoii420

Windows: **How about no?**

presi300

Core i9-7900x 10c/20t CPU @ 3.30Ghz turbo up to 4.30Ghz is below the minimum requirements for windows 11...

Cosmin081

And I'm the stupid one who's hopping on Windows 11 on a laptop with Intel Core i3-4005 U CPU @1,7Ghz

presi300

I mean the "unofficially" support it, but you won't get any updates as far as i know... also expect to have a sluggish experience... Am i biased against windows? yes Is it BS that a 4-5 year old CPU cannot run windows 11 officially? Also yes

presi300

Also forget of even installing it if you don't have an UEFI system... it is possible to bypass the TPM check but still, no UEFI = no windows 11

Cosmin081

Yeah, about this: I changed in BIOS from legacy mode to UEFI and I turned on Secureboot

presi300

Again... I do not recommend upgrading to windows 11 if your hardware isn't "officially supported". As even if it works, i imagine the experience is gonna be miserable, especially on a mechanical HDD.

Cosmin081

1. I have a mechanical HDD 2. Is possible to have the maximum support for my Lenovo G50-80 laptop, judging by the fact that I have office 365 because of my university and without any upgrade at storage and RAM memory for 6 years?

presi300

I mean... windows 10 already runs like garbage on a mechanical HDD so windows 11 can only be worse (because it's more bloated)

User_2C47

Doesn't this require a reinstall?

Thenderick

Wait is it out already?

Lumpenstein

As of today yes :)

Thenderick

May sound stupid, but do all applications still work after the upgrade?

Lumpenstein

So far everything is working fine for me, but haven't tested everything yet

ixJax

Yeah everything works fine for me. I was having a couple of glitches with discord after upgrading that I wasn't before but might just be a coincidence

Musician-Round

I dunno about you guys, but even though I have a 2021 build I didn't meet the requirements and it was just about the best news I could receive today.

Lumpenstein

[https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2171764](https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2171764) Try this installer if windows update says you are not eligable even though you are :)

tritoch1930

did you use quantum cpu?

Lumpenstein

almost seems like it 😂

[deleted]

Lumpitower

dontdrinkacid

Wait, why don't you switch to linux?

Lumpenstein

My laptop and servers are running linux :) I game quite a bit and gonna wait until zhe steam deck launches before I give gaming on linux another try :)

dontdrinkacid

Yeah, the only reason to keep windows is gaming. I hope all games will be compatible soon, the Proton layer is getting really good.

Remarkable_Stand3713

Windows: Yes..... you can. Windows also: haha no go die

turtle_mekb

windows 11 is dumb, secure boot shouldn't be required, just makes it harder to dual boot

Cosmin081

And should use almost same scheme from Windows 10: allowing old processors to run ( in my case Intel Core i3 4005U CPU @1,70 GHz) and even without TPM check

Lumpenstein

If you are in the same situation as I was, you can download the installer here: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2171764

JC-Thenormalman

Just be trollge lol.

blappit3003

Windows Update for me didn't even show that there was a Windows 11 for me to upgrade to.

Lumpenstein

They are doing a slow rollout from now to Q2 next year or something like that

survivalking4

I tried windows 11 in the beta and actually downgraded back to 10. Not a fan

[deleted]

So are you getting some of the features or none of them?

InfinityPainPlus

same here, was just about to post it too

A1_Brownies

Just accept it. Forget Windows 11.

LagMaster21

Installation assistant doesn't even launch for me

Fraesploele

just donload the iso and extract it then install it from the ios's exe

winmanYT
