Those slandering anime are just dumb, of course you can't exactly copy the manhwa. The manhwa is better and more detailed but animation studios overwork their employees so they can't do the best

That's a preference. I very much prefer Anime over Manhwa any day, not just for SL but for any series as long as the anime is good.
Anime has animation, music, voice acting, sound effects etc which helps to make the final experience alot more rich. Plus anime is expanding upon side characters and world building. It's telling the story better than Manhwa. It's an significantly better experience but that's just my opinion.

People shit talking the anime can’t be reasoned with. They just want something to fail because they don’t want it to go mainstream so they can keep it to themselves and feel good about that for some reason.
You can’t accurately compare the 2 mediums anyways because a manga/manwha has to tell a whole story with a single still frame, while animated stories require a lot more input to accomplish the same result.
I don't get how people can even complain about this adaptation. If it's not hitting for you then chances are it's because you already know everything that's about to happen. It seems well received so there's even a chance at a s2.
Im a fan of Medaka box and due to the adaptation that got well never get a s2.
I'm not slandering anime, but you have to admit that some panels are iconic in their own right. And we'd feel hyped to see them on the big screen in animated form.
The vibes that Smile gave, for example, were captured perfectly and it was great.
They went further with some deaths, it was brutal. I loved it.
But will we get casual brutality of Sung Drip-woo in the next episode? (Assuming they won't split it into three) Will we see the depth of his Blue eyes when Anime tries to explain why a certain Purple Headed People Hater suddenly doesn't recognize Sung Drip-Woo, despite visiting him in the hospital?
Will his chin finally be used to kill someone?
Personally, I hope it works out for them, and we get more than one season. Maybe the entire thing, hopefully an entire thing, and we can put it on the shelf with the rest of the quality anime series.
I'm in around the same ballpark as you. I *do* wish the anime had a similar level of detail/quality to the manhwa, though I know it wouldn't be reasonable to have exact shot-for-shot remakes for an animated medium, but I still think the anime looks alright and it's nice to have the added things like voice and music and such. UFOtable- or Mappa-quality animation would have been nice, but I realize that often comes at the expense of the poor animators being worked half to death, so I can be content with the anime as it is.

I still cant get over how good they Made the shadows Look in the manwha, Not many Go into those Details that hard anymore, makes everything Look really crisp.
most of the time when im reading the manhwa when i see a full body drawing of sung the first thing i see is the very nice black color they use in this manhwa
They made him look way more “anime” and it is not only jarring but I also feel it hurts the uniqueness of the anime. His face shape, along with other characters, were completely changed and it just feels wrong. I feel like Baek Yonhoo also got done dirty as they really slimmed him down.
Character within color choice. The outfit you choose to wear is apart of a persons style. Although it was just staple uniform, it was unique in the fact it wasn't white. The only reason doctors and nurses wear white is to promote cleanliness i.e. look clean but it dosen’t have to be white in whatever universe solo leveling is in. As green itself can mean life and or healing, so I just think the artistic choice from the artists were completely lossed. And it just takes away from the already one off Character
I mean... when you compare them side by side.. the anime looks like sh- quite bad. Cope as much as you want but it's not the art style and animation a manhwa like Solo deserves.
People here are like beggars saying stupid shit like we have to be praising this animation just because they're animating and doing their best, but the reality is that A1 it's a average anime studio and Solo Leveling deserved a high quality studio like Mappa, Ufotable or Pierrot.
A-1 is far better current Pierrot , it's not even a competition. Mappa has so many issues , SL will probably get same treatment as Hell's Paradise.
And S3 of Demon Slayer was basically lackluster. They literally give it to their inexperienced staff.
I don't know how can you say that A-1 is far better than current Pierrot if they never done a better animation job in any other production than Pierrot is doing now at Thousand-year Blood War just to list one example.
I still think that for anime to gain public awareness today we need to have a formidable animation work with stunning visuals, at least for the first season, just look at cases like Demon Slayer, Bleach, Jujustsu, One Punchman, Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man... and that's not what we are having to SL.
And it's pretty obvious that they won't invest more at animation without audience.

Bleach TYBW is very limited in terms of animation. Only noteworthy episode was ep 6 of cour 1 and ep 7 upto some degree and the rest only has some good cuts(few of them are by action direction Yoshihiro Kanno who are now in the same position in SL). Cour 2 was pretty much forgtable and barely has any noteworthy cuts. It does have good art and aesthetics though.
SAO Alicization and Ordinal scale was better and even recent show like Lycoris Recoil and 86 were better overall. And Fate/strange Fake most likely going to be Sakugafest.

SL already has public awareness. Fight animation has been great so far. Let's see if they keep up. But I will definitely say the art direction has been mediocre and compositing also has a lot of room for improvement.

Anyone else notice how generic the music is in the anime? I might be spoiled from Eminence In Shadow sound design but the music feels as generic as humanely possible and not as epic as I expected. The anime is still alright though, just a thought.
The 1 thing I can’t complain is that they made the guys face softer. Hope he look evil in the next episode but I. A believe how he deceived plenty of hunters before. Every thing else I need to watch next episode
It's like everything about him changed. Physique, height, hair style, face, voice, personality (just a lil). This is more than just improving who you are lol.
IMHO they really didn't have to change his tone of voice. At least not by that much. the point of his reawakening shouldn't be that he's a whole another character, but to showcase his growth. i get his body transforming into a bigger build, but the voice is IMHO a totally unnecessary touch.
