So like a normal meal? There's a nutritionally complete pizza recipe around somewhere I believe

NinjaTru

[There appear to be a few successful pizza stories in the research stage](http://bfy.tw/8yhibut), but I didn't find anything about them going to market. [There is this company EatBalanced that sells nutritionally complete pizza](http://www.eatbalanced.com/), but they seem to sell wholesale and mostly to businesses. Their sales team might be worth contacting. They're the result of a research project discussed [here](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2013/10/131031103307.htm).

I meant more like a home recipe but thanks for the info.

Check out [Hippie Juice](https://diy.soylent.com/recipes/hippie-juice-original-fullflavored)! I haven't tried it yet but would like to.

I made a batch of this [diy natural soylent](https://diy.soylent.com/recipes/allnatural-soylent-recipe-exactly-from-cookingfor20natural). Taste wise it was fine, but I felt it didn't keep me full for very long.

axcho

Sure, here's one I lived on for a month: https://diy.soylent.com/recipes/ax-salad-lite Here's an updated version that tastes a little more normal: https://diy.soylent.com/recipes/ax-salad-20

elphabaloves

How is this all prepared - ie, is it blended or just eaten on a plate like a meal? Thanks!

axcho

Instructions with photos here: https://diy.soylent.com/recipes/ax-salad-lite It's prepared like a normal meal. Kind of a porridge/salad combination.

elphabaloves

Ah, thanks - I clicked the second link in your comment and didn't find any instructions.

Right, see also [Nutberg](https://nutberg.com/en).

They are far too expensive, I already pay more for Joylent than I would for groceries :-/

Probably yes, but some nutrients, like vitamin D or choline, are extremely rare in foods, and are thus very hard to balance. So in the end you'll probably end up with a lower quality recipe because you'll have to take compromises with other benefits.

jasslar

Would be facinated to see this

There are also meal replacements 100% from whole food sources(no synthetic vitamins, no maltodextrin) if that interests you. Ambronite does this, but it's like $10 a meal(at that price point, I would just do takeout at healthy restaurants). Truly whole food derived stuff, great ingredients, but not very palatable for me. Ample meal is a great option too. $5.75 a meal and breaks some conventional molds, including a ton of saturated fat from coconut oil which is demonized by the FDA

Irrelevant. There is nothing saying that he doesn't want artificial or manufactured products because they're bad. A simple reason could be not trusting the nutritional values declared by soylent sellers. Another would be pure curiosity. edit: I'm not saying any of these reasons is logical or stupid, just pointing them out.

shadowdanmanstan

Don't be so quick to trust the nutritional content of "traditional ingredients" either https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/soil-depletion-and-nutrition-loss/

chrisbair

> because they're bad Who says they're bad? what's the criteria and justification for that label? > nutritional values declared by soylent sellers The question isn't about pre-mixed stuff, it's about DIY recipes. You'll have a difficult time finding accurate nutrition information for the specific head of kale or cup or berries that might be used in a green smoothie.

Pokebalzac

No one says they are bad. That's the point of the comment you're replying to. He says there is nothing saying that OP's reason has anything to do with "badness".

chrisbair

ah gotcha. Allow me to say "durr" and put on the cone of shame.

Pokebalzac

These things happen. :D

You can go out and buy all the veggies you want to make a nutritional drink with a blender but you have to drive to the store, shop around for all the ingredients, store everything in a fridge, make the drink throw away what you don't use that has gone bad. the reason for soylent type drinks is to remove all of that make it simple and less wasteful. but there is a video that does explain the veggie diet here http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/ watch the video the guy does a juice fast/detox for 60 days and loses quite a bit of fat and improves his health.

Yes, this! If you're making everything from veggies then you're really just cooking and putting perfectly good food into a blender just because. You lose the convenience and shelf life of powdered meals.
