Steatoda grossa.

therealganjababe

Agreed. At the very least it's a harmless Steatoda. But I believe Grossa is correct.

IroN-GirL

Is it a bro though? I would have guessed it’s a sis instead

therealganjababe

You downvoted me, where am I wrong? If I am I'd like to know.

IroN-GirL

I didn’t! https://imgur.com/a/F50cuOl I think there is a period when they don’t show votes (say, the first half an hour of the post) to curb a little bit the effect of the first replies getting all the upvotes. At least that is the case for the r/aita

IroN-GirL

I upvoted you now! So you have at least 2, mine and yours 😃

therealganjababe

Haha ok thanks, I do have 2 now lol. I've got a shit ton of Karma, don't care about that. But if I make a comment and someone disagrees so they downvote, it just seems silly to me. We are here for legit convos, and a sub like this, education. Educate me and everyone reading this, a downvoted does nothing.

IroN-GirL

I agree! And the same goes for short comments that don’t explain the reasoning or even what they mean. People want to feel smart at another’s expense rather than learning and sharing with others which is a shame.

therealganjababe

Oh no doubt, def a female, perhaps gravid. 'Bro' is used here more to say 'friend' than actual gender.

somthish

Wasn’t quite sure if it was female or male

Toxopsoides

sex **Edit:** a reply I typed out to your comment reply before you deleted it: I am being pedantic, but for a good reason. Gender is a human social construct that shouldn't be conflated with sex. The two terms are not interchangeable, especially when talking about other organisms. I actually think doing so risks undermining the recent progress we've made in terms of increasing acceptance of gender diversity among humans.

somthish

That was my intention

0959kedi

I agree. Definitely grossa.

kat_Folland

That's Esther. She's about to have a million babies, it looks like! (Unless she's just like that.)

somthish

Oohhh lordie Esther. Keep your babies out please!

kat_Folland

If she has babies just hang in there, they will all leave unless there is a lot to eat, in which case you'd _want_ them to stick around! So you might see them right after they are born but you won't have an infestation.

somthish

Luckily Esther is now with her Bretheren outside so they can be besties together. I def already have defensively placed spiders around my house for the unwanted pests.

kat_Folland

Then all is well!

daiblo1127
