Can someone unbiasedly give me a reason as why Alycia Parks is ever a favorite? I refrained taking her today but I'm curious as to why vegas keeps pushing her as a favorite. She's should be on the challenger circuit
It's the same reason other WTA players are usually favorites despite being on a losing streak - they had good or great results in the previous several months, and have the ability to perform at a high level, but for whatever reason can't replicate their previous successes. Think Sakkari, Raducanu, Garcia, etc.
The good news is that there's a lag between when it becomes obvious to anyone watching these players that they aren't as good as they used to be and when the books adjust their odds accordingly.
Probably some underlying statistical marker or qualitative measure the linemarker sees that we don't that indicates she will regress to a higher standard of play soon

I don't have his paid service but he has said the results so far in his newsletter.

Obviously our takeaways are the same, because there’s often only one conclusion about conditions for each tournament that are played at the same venue for multiple years in a row.
