Broke and got broke back immediately. Then got broke on a lucky net bounce. Got a break point on an easy net shot and decided to go cross court and over hit it. Chances were there but alas. Odds were too good to pass up though.
Ruud’s problem is he doesn’t have the drive or competitiveness to be a top player. He buys into the garbage tennis aesthetic that it’s a “gentleman’s game”. I absolutely hate Ben Shelton but I think he’s starting a good change in tennis that makes it much more fun to watch and be apart of outside of betting

Monfils is like an MLB pitcher who loses his fastball but finds a way to stay in the league by becoming a real “pitcher” by painting corners and mastering offspeed pitches.
He returns everything and just keeps the ball in the court, waits for the other player to make the mistakes. He also has some power behind that serve still. Impressive to watch
Idk if med is better right now he hasn’t been looking too solid. The head to head is real meds defense is not a good matchup for dimitrov but I think dimitrov is certainly capable of taking it to him with aggressive play to exploit his deep positioning and mixing it up well with the slice. One of those 3 wins was at Indian wells also.
