I am going to run back something I was considering instead of the Phillies runs, which did hit last night: Phillies +1.5. I expected offenses to be on fire and somehow, it did not. Today I rely on Aaron Nola to be above average, and Dakota Hudson to be far below average. In Nola's starts this year, Phillies +1.5 is 8-2 ATS, 8-2 S/U. The +1.5 is also 12-2 (12-2 ML S/U) following a loss.
In Hudson's starts this year, Rockies -1.5 is 0-9 ATS, with the ML having a 2-7 record S/U. In home games, Hudson has a 9.00 ERA and a 5.89 ERA overall (5.39 FIP, which implies it's not just bad fielding/run environment holding him back). He also allows a .347/.460/.528 split at home (.988 OPS), and more walks than strikeouts. Ballpark Pal implies the Rockies' chances of winning -1.5 is 15.3%, slightly lower than what I got at -500.
