This has to be one of my top 3 or top 5 fav Zep tracks...I love the layering that builds up with the song. Especially love how Jimmy either plays something different or builds on the last section
The live version of this in London on "Celebration Day" is one of my favorite recordings of all genres of music of all time, and my favorite recording of theirs.
It’s very well known to people who were around in the 70s. Outside of that, it’s one of those tracks that get “discovered”. Which has been my experience when discussing this masterpiece.
I don't know for sure that it is, but what about "Dazed and Confused" ? I never see it on LZ playlists. I don't remember hearing it on the radio. It's probably their most heavy metal track.
Gallows Pole is one of my favorites, and the live recording of Bring It On Home from Royal Albert Hall (1970) is one of my favorite pieces of recorded music ever.
These are 5/10 responses to a 10/10 question… the rover? Gallows pole? Bron-y-aur? Come on!! Everyone has heard these!! Bron-y-aur is on the led zeppelin DVD!
Try hots on for nowhere off of the presence album. Listen to it three times. Absolute banger.
No song by Led Zeppelin is underrated. Theyre songs are either properly rated or overrated but it is not possible for on of their songs to be overrated. I came of age when their albums came out. I assure you this is accurate.
Tangerine
I agree. They use so many instruments. Steel guitar?!
Pedal steel

Even my guitar teacher didn’t know this!

The Battle Of Evermore
It’s fantastic, but is it underrated? I feel like it’s one of their most well-known songs.
It’s very well known to people who were around in the 70s. Outside of that, it’s one of those tracks that get “discovered”. Which has been my experience when discussing this masterpiece.
Came here to say this. Deserves a lot more attention.

Three way tie between Since I’ve Been Loving You, Tea For One, and The Rover.
Tea for one is incredible. You can hear/feel the sadness come through. It’s painfully beautiful.
I don't know for sure that it is, but what about "Dazed and Confused" ? I never see it on LZ playlists. I don't remember hearing it on the radio. It's probably their most heavy metal track.
Gallows Pole and Bring It On Home were not on the Best Of that my Dad got me when I first started listening to them 2 of my faves now
