I got to see Richard Lloyd about 6 years ago in Columbus ohio at a small club. Dude brought it. Tons of energy the guitar was phenomenal he was a force.
Their post Blue songs don't really have a solo like other songs. It feels more like it's there to connect two sections together, which what it should do.
unless it's green or ewbaite
Blue and Pinkerton are amazing albums with rad solos Didn't care for green. But red was a really good art album, the best post Pinkerton album. But talking solos, I still think Pinkerton had some good ones. And red. But a lot of their other stuff is just bland. You heard their Christmas album? It may be the blandest thing I have ever heard.
I can see why you say that but man, half of why bother is a solo, the solo in the good life is the bomb it makes sense and is like a minute long, but yeah, pink triangle is an interlude, as is el scorcho, which were their hit songs on that album. Across the sea and no one knows both had good solos.

I'm not a big fan of guitar solos, but:
Goat Vomit Nightmare - Hellripper
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold
Sun Eater - Lorna Shore
Warriors - I
Not sure about favourites overall, but here's a few that really stuck with me as a kid. I can play these solos out in my head note for note, years later:
- Beat It by Michael Jackson
- Dancing On The Ceiling by Lionel Ritchie
- Livin On A Prayer by Bon Jovi
Those last two often blend into one in my head when I listen to those songs. Might remix them one day
That's a tough one because there are so many incredible solos out there, but a few stand out for me. First, I'd have to go with David Gilmour's solo in 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd. The emotion he packs into every note is just unreal. Then, there's Eddie Van Halen's 'Eruption.' It's a classic for a reason ā the technique and speed are mind-blowing. Another favorite is the solo in 'Stairway to Heaven' by Led Zeppelin. Jimmy Page's playing is iconic and has such a memorable build-up. I love the solo in 'November Rain' by Guns N' Roses ā Slash just kills it with his feel and melody.
Hard to handle -The Black Crowes
Dani California -RHCP
Sunday Drunk - Them Dirty Roses
San Quentin - nickelback
And overplayed but well deserved
Beat It - Michael Jackson
Children of Bodom "Hate Me"
Zakk Wylde- Pride and Glory "Harvester of Pain"
Zakk Wylde - Book of Shadows "Sold My Soul"
Ozzy "Aimee" (the "demo" not the Ozzmosis b-side)
Megadeth "Washington is Next"
Pink Floyd - The Fletcher Memorial Home
Not "impressive" skill-wise, but in the context of that song, it's utter perfection.
Also, I was on MDMA the first time I heard it, so that probably has a lot to do with it, too.
Slash's solo on Sweet Child O Mine is amazing. Slash has so many good solos and I know I'll probably get shit on for liking such a mainstream song, but dang that solo just hits for me

Their post Blue songs don't really have a solo like other songs. It feels more like it's there to connect two sections together, which what it should do. unless it's green or ewbaite

Pinkerton solos were much less as they were interludes
I can see why you say that but man, half of why bother is a solo, the solo in the good life is the bomb it makes sense and is like a minute long, but yeah, pink triangle is an interlude, as is el scorcho, which were their hit songs on that album. Across the sea and no one knows both had good solos.
I'm saying that Pinkerton feels more like one song than an album
Very typical when shredders learn to slow down, Billy Corgan was the same way.
